I grabbed this the second I saw it release. I had gotten one in my boxycharm a few months back. same formula, just no spooly. this is the same just a little bigger tip which is still ok. lasts all day, looks natural. i use spiked and I have very dark brown hair with medium toned skin.
I have been using MAC spiked for over 10 years. It's my go to product. I was told they added the brush and I was immediately concerned and now I know for good reason. It retracts on it's own and the pencil is flimsy. The day I used it for the first time, it completely fell out of the tube and I had to put it back. MAC needs to go back to the basics on this or either make the pencil more sturdy like the ABH product or I rather not have the brush at all. I tried ABH once but preferred the regular MAC pencil without the brush. I hate this new product. I hope someone who makes decision is listening. I will not purchase it again with the brush! I will spend the extra money for the ABH product or find something else comparable. This is an EPIC Fail for MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just. Ugh. Anyone who buys brow pencils has been there, done that with brands. But when you find your perfect shade, consistency, resistance to smudging/wearing off and you don't feel like you're walking around resembling a 5yr olds drawing of a girl, you buy it and rebuy it and tell your friend! They in turn buy it and then you stock up should the unthinkable happen.
Well, it happened. They changed the formula. It happened years ago. And every once in awhile I would find a needle in a haystack and get one of the "good ones."
But alas, no more. It's just hard, flakey, easily breakable, constantly retouching dullness. I'm back to searching other brands to find my holy brow pencil grail again.
Just…fix it. Bring back the old formula. That's the only response any of us die hard old school Mac brow pencils want to hear. No interest in "learning how to better use it." I was using it fine before the formula changed.
It's not us, it's you.

I wanted to get plenty of uses out of this before writing a review because I saw so many reviews that had issues with the quality of the pencil and brush. So far mine has been awesome! I open the lids gingerly and I don't just yank them off so maybe that has helped with them not breaking. I've had no problems with the functionality of this pencil. One side the lid is longer than the other and then can be easily discerned from one another, especially since the text with the color name is only one side. I didn't have an issue recognizing which side is which. I start out with a regular brush to straighten up my brows, then I use this pencil to give a nice arch and use a feather motion to fill in the rest of my brows. Next I use the spoolie brush on the pencil to blend and groom my eyebrows further. This gave me a great look, but for an even more blended look I use an angled brush with Omega eyeshadow to give a nice finish. The Fling/Omega color blend is perfect for lighter hair/blonde to dark blonde eyebrows. Giving attention to grooming and filling/blending eyebrows makes my whole look appear much nicer and more finished. This is a great product.

okay so I absolutely love this brow pencil. i have colored hair. a gingery light color and this eyebrow pencil is the ONLY one that's don't my hair justice. it's so smooth and last me longer than so many pencils.

I've tried a variety of brow products, I'm usually a pomade girl. This was the 1st brow pencil I picked up and I loved the texture. It's a softer pencil and goes on so well, I only twist up the littlest bit when I use it, but I get hairlike strokes and great pigment. I think this will be my go-to when I have the money

I'm super disappointed with the change in packaging. No one asked for a janky eyebrow brush to be added to this product. It's so annoying. And the cap gets stuck and takes off the whole brush at times. And you never know which side you're opening. I wish you had the option to purchase just the brow liner as before - but you have NO CHOICE. This was a dumb move. I love the product and have been using it for 15 years. I will be looking for a replacement and not purchasing this until they change it.

I bought this after getting my makeup done for an occasion and LOVE the look. Have yet to find a color that matches my brows better. It's a good product, easy to use. Unfortunately the tip kept falling out and broke so easily, very frustrating for a Mac product.

I was super skeptical about trying this pencil out. I saw Tati test this out a while back and she didn't like, and then the reviews made me second guess myself. But I heard such great things as well that I just bit the bullet and bought it as a backup for when my ABH brow wiz ran out. And HOLY SMOKES it's so much better!! Sometimes ABH felt lacking in the pigmentation for me, I'd have to draw over an area repeatedly to get it to the shade I like. Yes I could've gone with a darker shade (mind you I use Dark Brown), but then it wouldn't match my actual hair shade anymore. I have to create a tail to my brows thanks to over plucking in high school so I need the pencil to be able to be pigmented enough for me to draw on my foundation skin. And this pencil does it! I'll definitely be repurchasing over ABH next time!

I have been using this pencil for at least 10 years. Yes the formula has changed. The brush has changed. It's still my favorite. I also use Anastasia products as one product is rarely ever enough. I think the new formula is more natural and allows for more of a buildable and not drawn on look. I like the added brush bc in the morning before work this is the only thing I use. If I'm going out I'll grab an actual brush and a paint pot and go to town. This is a great product I truly don't understand the negative reviews !!
My hair is black and I use spiked.

The new pencil is not the same as the old one. The quality is bad and the pencil keeps coming apart and falling out. This pen is too expensive to be falling apart.

This is easy to use and almost impossible to mess up. I use this when wearing no other makeup and it looks very natural (Spiked is perfect for me with my almost black hair color). If I'm wearing more makeup and need a stronger brow, I'll combine it with the shape+shade brow tint, also in Spiked.

Since they changed to this new pencil, there's always an issue. Just this morning, the whole "pencil" fell out and went down the drain. Extremely DISGUSTED!!! Another pencil I had, it just kept breaking. Now the pencil this morning, it kept coming out. So when whenever I put it in the pencil holder, I had to put it in the container with the brush side down. Slipped my mind this morning & the whole pencil.... GONE!!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡 I don't have another one so I have to rush an order to me.

First I draw a line to the top and bottom of my brows. I then fill in the gaps and gradually make them darker all over. I was asked if I did mircroblading after using it. It's the perfect ash color for me.

I miss the old pencil. I simply don't need a brush at the other end, which always wastes my time when I take the lid off, always at the wrong end, and they are different sizes so another waste of time figuring out which one goes at which end. Would rather just have the pencil as it used to be, keep it simple. The formula also seems to be different, the old one was far more precise and accurate. Gosh! Instead of improving we've gone the opposite way. Why MAC? Guess it is time to explore other brands.

It goes on naturally and stays on all day, no smudging or fading.

I have used these pencils for years. A while back the formula changed. Although it's nice the new pencils now have the brush at the opposite end, the pencil itself is no longer the same. It's blotchy, doesn't blend as well, and does not last as long. I usually buy several at a time because the limited supply in stores. So, I have several pencils I cannot use any longer. Disappointed.

This is the first Eye Brow Pencil that I've fell in love with. I have super blonde hair and most eye brow pencils are too dark. This is the perfect shade and it stays on all day at work.
Naomi from Seattle, WA
This was the only pencil I used for years but the new formula doesn't deposit color nearly as well. I had to throw it out.
Linda R from Fresno CA
Love the product but do not care for the size of the pencil. Would be hard to hold onto
Christina from Los Angeles
After trying out the Veluxe brow liner and disliking it, I gave the eyebrow styler a try and it was just as bad. It didn't deposit color easily. I literally have to run through it several times to get any color. The eyebrow crayon was so much better. Please bring it back.

I have been using this brow pencil since I learned how to fill in my brows. I have very light hair you can't even see my brows but the combination of this and the gel is amazing!!!!
