Most Helpful Positive Review I was sceptical at first... The-Firming Phyto-Serum is a weird milky looking watery serum consistency. I did not notice any scent. It goes on fairly easily. However, it does leave the skin feeling tacky for a little while. You could easily remidy this by adding a moisturizer or oil over top. I didn't because I wanted any results I did or didn't see to be from the serum.
The only real downside to me is that this serum is quite expensive for most household budgets, including mine.
I was sceptical about the Clarins Extra-Firming Phyto-Serum at first but I was surprised when I started to actually see a difference in my neck area. My neck area has really started to look different lately, as I just turned 40. But, my husband even said he noticed a difference! Most Helpful Critical Review I have to be honest.... I was sent this product free from Clarins and Influenster in exchange for an HONEST review...and it's honestly not good.
This product MIGHT work, but I couldn't tell any difference in the firmness of my skin with only FOUR applications. We were sent 2 very small deluxe sample tubes. For the eye cream, that was okay (still didn't last a month but lasted 2 weeks), but a FACE serum? I only applied in the evening to stretch it out over 4 DAYS otherwise it would've been gone in 2 days.
I cannot understand how a company can expect honest reviews with such little product? Your website even shows results based on 28 DAYS of continued use so how are we to expect the same results in 2-4 days? But wait, it gets worse....
As we all know, everyone's skin is different and reacts differently to ingredients. This just wasn't the product for me I'm afraid.
It made me break out. I'm 42 years old, I have normal to dry skin that isn't the least bit sensitive thanks to thickening from (surgically induced) menopause. I've never in my life had breakouts on my jawline yet the day after use I had one on the left side of my face. The following day, I had two more on the right side.
I rarely get pimples at my age, to get 3 bad ones within days of trying a new product, it's usually the product. This part is a ME problem, not the serum.
I HATE leaving such a negative review, but it's HONEST. This is my experience. I would suggest that next time, send enough to actually test the product for a month. What I can say positive is the serum felt nice on my skin, even seemed to prime it a bit for makeup application (a little tacky NOT sticky feeling) and the fragrance was nice and not too strong.
As originally stated, I was sent this product for free to review by Influenster on behalf of Clarins. While I would not recommend this product for me, it may work for you. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the free sample offer to see if your skin likes this formula before purchasing.

I have been using this serum for a couple weeks now and I have noticed my skin is firmer and tighter. This serum works to tighten. Use as your 2nd step in a.m. after eye cream (but not in eye area) then use your daily moisterizer. Be sure to use press method to release any puffiness.

I know oil and water don't mix so I know not to use this when I use my LaMer moisturizer. The double serum works just fine. Maybe because it's oil based or maybe it's because there seems to be alcohol or some sort in this and a lot of Clarins products. I really like the brand but the products that I use will only be dbl serum and the body contour lotion. Other than that I don't recommend this at all.

I have used a few different serums, and honestly didn't think they were doing anything until I tried this one. My skin is visibly firmer, and definitely softer. Highly recommend!

I have been using this product for 20 years. I use it and then do the manual lifting. The lifting process is "very" important. I am now 70 and people think I'm in my late 50's. Start using this product in your 40's and keep going. Do it! I really does work!

I thought this was a replacement for the phyto firming serum, but no. It is a cream and does not immediately tighten up skin. I am going to return it and try the V serum or whatever they are calling it. It is so disappointing when you can't count on a brand to maintain the items that work. It isn't like Clarins is going anywhere, can't they keep up the interest with new items while maintaining the tried and true? That firming serum was really effective.

I had a sample and I thought it was amazing.... so I bought a full size. Now it really does amazingly reduce the lines, but it has a drying nature too. I was past returning it, and really wanted to figure out how to make it work. I bought a highly recommended much cheaper serum (Vichy) and mix it. I've also reduced using it to twice a week or so and that has made it manageable. But I would not repurchase. The moisturizer in this line is great so far.

I was sent a trial size of this serum, I instantly loved it and now use it every day. It is so soft, light and easy to apply. But my skin feels very hydrated and my skin so soft. I love Clarins products and this is one of my favourites.

I rotate this and the double serum, and I use the firming extra firming moisturizer as well. You have to let it dry before you go to the next step. If you don't it won't work for you, it's just like the double serum if you don't let it dry it will be greasy. I literally watched my mothers wrinkles disappear in front of my face. Definitely worth the price, and I love it I paid full price for this product, no samples nothing free

I used this product after cleansing with Clarins Gentle Cleanser with Shea Butter. The Phyto-Serum is so drying and caused flakes on my skin and rolled off in pieces when I put on my moisturizer. I tried to use it 5 or 6 times and got the same results. It's a shame this didn't work since it was so expensive. I do love Clarins though and will continue to use their other products from Ulta. I'm returning the Phyto-Serum for a refund.

I've been using this (and its different named predecessors) for 30 years after a friend who was 40 married a man who was 25 and his family thought she was 30! She credited this product!! I love it! It made the deep line between my eyebrows go away. When I started getting the fine lines around my upper lip, I started putting it there too and after two weeks it made a big difference! I will never use anything else!

I have been using Clarins for about 10 years and at 68, my ski. Is almost wrinkle free and actually has a lot of volume. I use V Shaping facial lift serum, Double Serum, and now added e tea firming phylo serum. Great products.

It's hard to select a favorite among my skin and body treatments from Clarins, as I've been using their line since the 80's and love how the product lines have evolved to meet my needs. I tried the Extra-Firming Phyto-Serum a year or so ago as a small sample and immediately bought a full size. The first application was "wow'; tightening my skin like I had never felt. I now alternate the Phyto-Serum with the Super Restorative Serum for days, and the Double Serum for nights.

I got a sample a month ago and I decided to target one specific area (marionette lines) After a week I started to notice some improvement. After a month my appearance had changed a lot; the lines are less visible now.

This product is a serum and it's firming - so it naturally caught my attention. Having phytonutrients Is included is something often no found since phytomer doesn't seem to be sold anymore. I applied this the first night I received it and woke up looking like I had spent the previous day at a spa. My skin, which is neither oily nor dry, appeared firm and smooth which is something we all strive for but as you know it can be hard to find the right combination to achieve this goal. This is a new product for me and will be adding it to my regimen. It has a very nice natural fragrance and provided the perfect amount of moisture which I then applied my regular moisturizer over. I use it day or night and is one of the best products to come out of Clarins House in recent memory.
