Modern Perfumery At It's Finest

Dior Homme Sport is the new iteration to the Dior Homme line, adding a fresh and clean twist to the more metrosexual and iris-heavy fragrance that some of us know. Stripping away the iris and cardamom, Dior Homme Sport says goodbye to the powdery and lipstick-like smell that it used to have. An appe...aling opening of fresh citrus notes of lemon and bergamot starts this fragrance. While also having aldehydic notes to add a clean soapy smell, smoothing out the harsh edges of the two citric notes in the opening. Adding a fresh spicy touch to the fragrance, pink pepper is introduced in the heart of this elegant scent. Woody notes and amber is what you will find at the base of this fragrance, finishing up the composition of a great modern scent. I think this is a magnificent release from the house of Christian Dior, an easy-to-like fresh fragrance that I recommend. While I tested this fragrance for about a week, it came off as a pleasant lemon soapy scent. You have fresh citrus notes at the top that pack a punch like a boxer's uppercut with aldehydes adding a clean laundry smell. The pink pepper and woody notes add this finishing touch, rounding out any little harsh edges of the fragrance. As for longevity, the scent lasted well over 7 hours with moderate projection for about 1 1⁄2 hour. Francois Demachy, the former in-house perfumer of Dior, created this beautiful modern scent. A fragrance that once you spray, you gain a boost of confidence, ready to conquer the day. Being a fan of the Dior Homme line, I expected more from this fragrance. I anticipated something more unique, but sadly it wasn't contrasting. I respect the craft and what the perfumer created. Sometimes simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
