Most Helpful Positive Review Great smell, works great for women with alopecia I have alopecia, so I use this product to cover my scalp. Having thinning hair sucks, the dermatology treatment I've been receiving for the past few years has worked wonders for my hair's regrowth, but my hair is still thin on the top & top/back of my head. This product is the very best tinted dry shampoo I've ever used. I see so many negative reviews about the brown stuff getting on your hands if you touch your hair. I've never found one tinted dry shampoo that DIDN'T get brown stuff on my hands, pillow case, etc. So yes, you'll need to wash your hair before bed or cover your pillow case. This is a tinted hair product, not magic. That being said, this product has the least amount of stuff falling onto my face, clothing, etc. compared to the other 6 brands I've used. The smell is AWESOME, maybe a bit overpowering, but I've actually had compliments on how good I smell (lol). Also, this product gives my hair GREAT volume!
Most Helpful Critical Review I will not buy this again I used it the day after washing my hair. It made it corse and thick and I have pretty silky hair, too silky and it get oily very quickly. I prefer the regular volmizing one, but let the sales associate convince me to purchase the one for brunettes. It leaves your scalp brown! That's not sexy. And it's missing the volume that the other gives you. Feel like I got tricked by that associate.

I use this product to cover my roots and when I need a little lift at the top.
Messy 2
Sue from Ohio
This is incredibly messy. It's essentially brown spray paint. It will get all over your face and ruin makeup. If you are expecting that, it would be a good product. Especially if you are looking to cover grays.
BUY THIS IF YOU WANT BROWN DIRT RUNNING DOWN YOUR FACE 1

THE WORST. I used the regular one before and loved it so thought this would be better since I am brunette - well wrong. It's dark spray paint and will stain EVERYTHING. today it rained and it ran down my face and i didn't realize until way later :)
Disappointing compared to the original 2

I had high hopes for this as I love their other fry shampoos. This was too much with the tint and the only way to get it out was to wash my hair. I don't like that sticky feeling in my hair. I will stick to their original dry shampoo.
love it! got me thru training hair to be washed less freq. 4
stellar from Exiled to the Midwest
I use this on a regular basis and it got me through training my fine, formerly easily greasy hair to be washed (aka stripped of natural oils) less frequently. (all hail WFH!)
Sure, it does leave a brown residue if you hold it too close when spraying and if you mess w it w your fingers. Is it enough of a con to keep me from using it? NOPE. It doesn't dull the appearance of my hair the way the original does, which I do like but am less likely to reach for bc it just isn't non-blonde-friendly like this stuff. I was also really surprised at how long it lasted - totally worth the cost. Dove was a great "starter" but it wore off quickly and was nowhere near as effective as Drybar plus runs out much quicker.
Change your dry shampoo, change your life!

I wanted to love this dry shampoo but I couldn't. I love the original dry shampoo so I wanted to give this a try but it was terrible. The transfer from my hair got everywhere, it looked like I had dirt on my forehead and all over my hands. And unlike the original one which refreshes my hair this one made my hair hard and chalky. Sadly will never be repurchasing.
Love that it covers grey hairs too! 5

Use this so I do not dry out my hair washing it. I color my hair every 6 weeks so trying to find something that doesn't leave light/white streaks is very helpful.
Yuck 1
Dry shampoo from Salisbury
Bought this in store without reading reviews. Wish I had. Sticks like glue In your hair, you cannot run your hand through after all all. It's tough! And it leaves brown all over your hands. I get it's for brunettes and o appreciate the dark vs the white powder but this stuff is pretty nasty.
It sucks. The transfer is insane. Makes your hair rock hard. 1

A nightmare 1

This stuff sucks, my hair feels heavy and weighed down, it changes the color of my hair and the brown tint stains everywhere, my forehead, hands, clothes whatever it touches. Run away from this product!!!
Ideal for brunettes 4

It's great to use after hair is clean & styled. Spray on areas in the front and area your roots are exposed. The blending of brunette color makes it easy on the eye and not harsh contrast like the very dark brown spray products. Thumbs up 👍🏻 for partial coverage
It's good for one wash and good to carry you a few days between your coloring. Smells ok to me too.
Exactly what I need! 4

I use this product in between washes often. It last long and really helps my dark, very thin, gets greasy between washes hair look good. It's a confidence that I can easily provide to myself. Please continue to keep this product on hand!

I have always been told by my stylist to apply dry shampoo before I go to bed so that it has time to absorb the oil and when I wake up I'll be ready to style and go. I've done this for years and never had an issue. However, I noticed after I applied this there were brown stains all over my fingers, and I didn't think much of it so I washed my hands and went to bed. I have white sheets and a white bedspread. I woke up to both completely ruined from the dye in this product. My hair feels stiff and crunchy, not clean at all. I suppose if you have gray hair this might work for you, but even still I think there are other products that are better suited for that. I do want to add that I love the other formulas of this product.
Perfect for prolonging visits to the salon! 5

What are people expecting when they buy a product that says it covers gray roots? Of course it's going to leave color behind. I LOVE this product when I'm nearing my hair appt to help cover my roots for an extra week or so! If it is leaving your hair crunchy and unable to brush, you are using too much. You really only need a tiny bit of this product to make it work. Yes, the color comes out in the shower, but it doesn't stain anything. I sleep with this in my hair on my satin pillowcase. Sometimes, if I sweat in my sleep, it will transfer to the pillowcase, but it washes out every time. The clear product is not the same formula, but works well also. I use that one regularly after having my hair done and save this one for prolonging visits when the roots start to show!
Leaves a brown residue on your scalp 1
Jackie from Washington DC
I used this product and I noticed a brown residue all over my scalp. I would not recommend this product unless you have a bald spot that you're trying to cover.
Absolutely not 1

I love the other versions of this dry shampoo, so I thought I would give this one a try. I had brown residue all over my hands and face and my hair was so crunchy. I don't know what this stuff is, but this is not it.
The best! 5
Liz from Atlanta, Georgia
The best dry shampoo for dark hair I've ever used, and I've tried them all it seems. Some of these reviews are a bit dramatic; if you don't want color to your dry shampoo, they make plenty of them without pigment. My hair is very dark, very fine and very oily, so I need a dry shampoo that doesn't turn my roots gray and this one is the best. You barely need to use any and it keeps my roots matte all day, even on day three.
Covers Grey Hair and Also Everything Else w Brown Residue 2

I recently purchased this in store, used it once, and never want to use it again. My hair feels gross after using it, and it got brown stains on anything that touched my hair.
Best dry shampoo for brunettes! 5

Love this dry shampoo! It even helps with gray hair. Lol! Really hate the scent, but love how great it works that I buy it anyway.
Does exactly what it's supposed to. 5

I'll start by saying I have SUPER fine oily hair. I read previous reviews thoroughly before making a decision on this product. Yes, it has brown residue that transfers. I don't know what people expect when buying a product with color in it. I think some of the reviews on here may be a bit dramatic - this product will not stain your shower, and it didn't get all over my headrest in my car or my clothes. Just my hands, really. If you can get past the little bit of color transfer that happens, this product is truly wonderful.
Most reviews on here complain of a dry texture where they can't get a brush through their hair..... stop using so much. You do not need much of this product at all. It's the best formula I've ever used and the ONLY dry shampoo that has worked. I was a daily washer until I found this product. It is literally a DRY shampoo and should be expected to make your hair dry.
I originally returned this product for drybar clear dry shampoo thinking the formula would be the same without the color..... DO NOT DO IT. The clear version is garbage and won't work.
Asking all fine oily haired girls to please give this product a chance!
Just no! 1
Erin from Iowa
Brown residue everywhere! I sprayed this near my hairline…dark brown residue all over my forehead. Gross. My hair feels dirty. I'm worried what this will do to my shower when I wash it out. This needs to be taken off shelves. Can't return it soon enough.
Should be negative 100. 1
Yenmor from Los Angeles
This is a horrible product. I used it because I wanted to touch up my hair and hold off washing it. It made my hair stick dry withhan awful texture. The color was horrible. I had to wash my hair just to get this stuff out. Then i had to scrub down the shower just to make sure it did not stain it. I don't understand how such a horrible product can be on the market.
Love 5
Santhe from MI
Not sure what people expect from brown dry shampoo. Yes will come out in the shower. I love this stuff. Helps w grease and gray hair at the same time. I dont over do the spraying. I think all dry shampoos make hair coarse so nothing new here . It's by far my favorite dry shampoo and I've tried alot of them. Little pricey but worth it to me.
Brown Residue 3
Jaimi from New Hampshire
I love this dry shampoo, its the only brand I've found that actually absorbs the oil and doesn't smell nasty. It does leave the hair feeling coarse but I have yet to find a brand that doesn't do that. My concern with this is the brown residue it leaves, I would never have noticed it if I didn't constantly have my hands in my hair but it does come off on your skin. I will be exchanging for the clear version.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! 5

I LOVE this product! I used to use the Bebe one but it's SO expensive! This one is affordable, covers my thinning hair problem (thanks Grandma), makes my hair look thicker, and keeps my hair looking clean. THE BEST!
