Hold the dermaplaner at a 45-degree angle to your skin.
Grip the handle securely but lightly to maintain control.
Work in small sections starting at the top of your cheekbone or jawline. Gently pull the skin taut with your opposite hand to ensure a smooth surface.
Use short, feather-like strokes to glide the blade in the direction of hair growth (typically downward) to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs. (Avoid pressing hard; a light touch is enough to exfoliate and remove hair.)
Avoid delicate areas like eyelids and under-eye, as well as areas with active acne, open wounds, or irritation.
