Most Helpful Positive Review Love the foundation. Wish there were more color choices Overall I love this foundation. It glides on, looks flawless for a long time and I don't feel it.on my face. The fact that I can wear it all day and not break out makes it awesome. The color range offering is a bit weak. I bought several little bottles and only one was a color close enough to keep. I have fair skin and always choose the cool beige, rose beige in the fair to light shades of foundation. Naturally the first batch I ordered were the ones labeled P for pink. The color is less pink and more peach orange. After a few minutes that orange starts to show and at that point no amount of blending will help. The second order I chose the Neutral in 1.2 and 2. 2n was it. It is still the tiniest yellow green but that pigment disappears once it dries and sets. No idea why make-up companies have such difficulty making colors that are genuine matches to human skin. The P needs more blue/green pigment to neutralize that peach orange and the N could use the tiniest but more purple. I would like to see this company offer a few shades in the midrange and in more of a "cool" selection. See bobbi brown 3.25 or Juice Beauty rosy beige for perfect reference.
The foundation is so good that I am willing to work with 2n for now and while I have to prep with a good sunscreen (this has none), it love how good it looks after several hours of wear. And about that,
removing it must require a cleanser I don't have. I have tried a couple and even after dialing it up and rinsing really well it still appears on my toner cotton ball. Luckily the residue left behind doesn't transfer on my pillow or break my face out.
Like all foundations I have tried this one has its pros and cons. I like the company and several other products they make so I will work with the limitations of the foundation for now.
Would love to see this company produce a physical sunscreen for the face that protects from sun damage, works with the other products AND doesn't irritate or cause break outs.
Most Helpful Critical Review Worth a try, but not a ride or die. For the price, I had to give this make up a try. It was heavily hyped up. I will say appreciate the fact they have several shades, with so many different undertones. Most drugstore foundations are pink or orange tone. I am more yellow to olive. I will say it's best to go possibly a shade lighter than you think. The colors are much darker. I like that this had no strong scent. Very easy to use. I would not say this is high coverage. It did take about two layers to somewhat decently Cover. If you have pigmentation, acne scars, or freckles this will not fully cover. You will still need some concealer. It also dries down to a more natural finish. So if you have oily skin I would say skip this. I did have to set with a powder. I did find that this was not very long lasting and did break down during the day. For every day wear to even out your skin, this was pretty decent. I think this is a good option for people with normal skin with maybe limited skin pigmentation. or this is good for a teen starting out with make up. If you have a lot of marks on your face or oily skin I would say skip this. For the price it's worth giving a try. But not sure I would buy this again

I love everything about The Ordinary foundation. There are so many shades to choose from and when you pick your match, it agrees with most skin types. I blend with my fingers and a sponge, and it always comes out pretty and covered without oxidizing, flaking, or caking.

So I bought this foundation a few months back and forgot to leave a review on it! The price is great, which is why I gave it an extra star, but the foundation itself was just...off. At least for me. It was rather runny and looked pretty cakey after putting it on, which rather surprised me. But then, my face got SUPER itchy after applying. and I mean really itchy. And my acne, which I had down to about 3 zits, flared up like crazy. My face just didn't like it at all! I'm not saying this will happen to someone else as well, but spot test first? I wish it would've worked for me but unfortunately, it didn't.

INCREDIBLE 5

I LOVE this foundation. "The buffet" has improved my skin so much so I was excited to try this foundation and WOW. It's a lightweight foundation but full coverage at the same time. Feels like you have nothing on. Long wearing, I have oily skin but it kept my face matte and looking great all day long. Got compliments too! And the price is amazing. LOVE this stuff
The color is just a little... off. 3

I really wanted to love it because I'm a fan of The Ordinary's skincare but the 2.0 P that I purchased (light medium with PINK undertones) was just a mess. It comes off as way more yellow than pink. My skin tone is flexible enough that I can make neutral or cool makeup work depending what it is but this one's a no from me, dawg. I'm trying to even out my skin tone not make myself look like I have jaundice. Like another reviewer said: stick with their (fantastic) skincare. This one's a miss.
Shade and coverage 1

Don't waist your money. If I could give it zero stars I would. I'm normally 3-4 shades up in a brands shade range but I bought the fairest shade they had and it was still wayyy too dark. That's insane. I also noticed shade gaps in their range while looking at the display. Also the coverage was almost nonexistent. And it was extremely drying and I don't even have dry skin.
Light formula with full coverage 5
Love it from Florida
I use a lot of this brands skin products and when I saw this foundation and the price I took a gamble and tried it. Worth every penny light airy feel on face doesn't cake up or feel heavy and provides full coverage. Took a color match quiz and color recommended was spot on.
Light coverage, but great! 5
Eli from Jackson, MS
This product is not great for coverage, but is really good for a light, natural look. If I want to create a look with more coverage, then I have to put several layers. I liked the way that it made my skin look and feel and I love how natural the product is. I bought because I use their serums, and I was so surprised at the quality of the product because of the low price.
Perfect! 5

Literally the perfect color! I wanted to keep putting on more because it looked like I wasn't wearing any foundation since it matched my skin tone so perfectly. It's cheap, it's hydrating, I think I found my holy Grail.
Disappointed But Not Surprised 3

I was hopeful about The Ordinary's makeup since I've been impressed with my skincare purchases. I had to put so many layers of this makeup on to achieve any "coverage". Ridiculously thin. The price made me feel better about not liking it.
Disappointed 1
Bermzy from Boise, ID
I mainly bought this due to it being marketed as full coverage combined with my love for their skincare. This is not full coverage by any definition and sat on top of my skin like a cakey matte mess.
Great Product with some issues 4
Kayla from Medford, Oregon
I really enjoyed this product. The first thing I noticed, however, is that there are 16 light to light medium shades, and only 5 darker shades.
The formula is really liquidy which surprised me! However, I really like how you can do one layer if you just need a flush of cover or build it up for fuller coverage!
One thing I noticed as well is that it works really well with their own primer, but not as well with any other primer, even if it is a similar formula!
Other make-up blends very well over it. Over all, great purchase!
acne did not complain! 4

i was impressed by this being the low price it was at ulta . most of the time when i buy foundations they end up not reaching my standards ive been hooked on maybelline superstay and i love full coverage . i have constant acne most of the time and revoling dry to oily skin. this was light but at the same time good coverage and didnt make me breakout more. such a little bottle but i will be buying it again
Fail 2
Zen2000 from Indy
Blotchy and cakey, very unnatural looking. There was nothing "pink" about the fair w/pink undertone shade, it's the same old yellow like most drugstore foundations. Also burned my very strong, very oily skin that tolerates 55-percent lactic acid. Two stars because given the right shade it could work as a spot concealer as it does have surprisingly decent coverage for such a runny liquid product, and it's cheap. Stick to The Ordinary skincare.
Not Full Coverage but Pretty 3
Whitney from Nebraska
This is definitely not a full coverage foundation, I would put this as light-medium. it's still a beautiful foundation though and looks good on the skin just not quite the coverage I was looking for.
Very lightweight, great coverage! 5

I love the stay of the product. It looks good by itself. I have terrible allergies and I always rub my nose, so I apply powder over this foundation for an ever better hold.
Exceeded my expectations 5
J from Chicago
I expected this product to be sheer and have a more luminous finish, but it is rather matte on my skin. I absolutely love it. I apply with my hands and finish with a sponge and it leaves a beautiful second skin finish. I have tried many products like this, with varying price points, but this is the best for me!
Full coverage 5

I have been using MAC studio fix stick foundation for years and was looking for a cheaper alternative. This foundation covers completely and makes skin have a beautiful finish. Great price point so you can buy summer and winter shades without breaking the bank. A lot of shades to choose from and their selection of cover up is also amazing. This brand is really something wonderful I can't wait to see what they do next.
no… 1
elliestath from victor ny
i hardly write reviews but for this foundation…i had to. this foundation transferred so much and was incredibly patchy and made me look oily. was not a fan and would not recommend. it's not worth the price. do not buy save your money.
exactly what i wanted but the lack of cap is a bummer 4
murbo from Washington, DC
sheer enough that i wasn't worried about trying to match my shade online. feels nice on skin, no allergic reaction.
only downside is that there is no cap with the bottle; it's a twist-and-lock top and it saves on plastic, but i worry about it twisting open by itself and spilling everywhere.
i love it 5
sophia from orlando, fl
ive been on the hunt for the perfect foundation for my skin and i might have to give this one the title. it feels really light on the skin and has the perfect amount of coverage. it looks like my skin, its so nice. ive heard other people say that this product gets greasy over time, but i personally have dry skin so i didn't experience this, but if you have oily skin, you might need to look out for that especially if you get the serum one. overall, i personally really like how it applies and the finish and the price. this is probably the cheapest and best foundation i have tried so far. definitely recommend!
Love this Foundation 5
Elizabeth P from Saint Louis, MO
I'm surprised at how much is still on my face after a sweaty bar shift! Highly pigmented and doesn't take much to cover everything. I use with the silicone primer and it covers my large pores. The color match is perfect on me, even with my pale olive skin tone. It feels light on my face and doesn't break out my skin.
This product is so awesome! 5
Alex from Missouri
It feels and looks so great on my skin and doesn't break out my skin like most other make up!
Great coverage, but makes my skin oily 4
Gina from Lancaster, PA
I love the consistency of this foundation, it isn't too thick or too watery. A full pump is actually a little too much, as it does give nice full coverage. I have some redness, acne scars, and spots, and this covers everything up nicely. If I can avoid touching my face and use a setting spray, it stays on through the day. However, it makes some parts of my face VERY oily, and I've never ever had a problem with oily skin. I even stopped moisturizing the areas that get oily prior to putting the foundation on, and adding more powder in those areas after applying it, but that doesn't help. Overall, it's a really great product for the price but the oil problem is significant enough that I might be searching for a replacement.
Very liquid and transferable very light coverage 1
Caro from Annapolis
I was really disappointed with this product, I love the ordinary products so I was excited to try this foundation, thinking it would be "good" for my skin. I've tried it twice now, it is very liquid and light coverage, it doesn't dry and stays greasy and therefore transfers at first touch.
