How To Use

It's great if you learn how to use itHi.. I want to share with you my experience with this makeup. I bought it a few months ago because I have different skin tones and I'm more concerned with even skin tone than coverage. I have to say that the colour selection is excellent. I picked it out the first time. Unfortunately, it took me a long time to get the makeup right. Most of the time, it would immediately creep into my wrinkles or leave me with dry patches. Nothing nice. I'm not young anymore. But I've found that I need to moisturize my skin a lot before applying it. I use a heavy dose of B-oil. After application, my skin is oily, but great for makeup. Afterwards, I have to use a damp makeup sponge and press the makeup lightly into my skin. This is the only way it looks great and lasts me into the evening. I also use powder, but only hydrating powder. The worst thing you can do is apply a mattifying powder. It instantly takes away the moisture and makes you look old. Makeup is great and doesn't clog pores like others.Inconsistent product, againI love my first ever bottle of high coverage shade 2.0 N - bought probably around 2 years ago in London and only almost used up now as I only need a tiny bit each time (a little goes a long way). After 2 years the formula is still thick and creamy, highly pigmented but not cakey. Yes it does rub off quite easily but for the price, you can't compare it to the MAC's, Nars, Bobbi Brown's etc. Within it's price range, it is great. As my first bottle was finishing, I thought I'd try out the Serum foundation in the same shade instead this time to see if it was even better. I bought this one in Berlin's KaDeWe in Germany, where I now live. Unfortunately, not only did I find it didn't give enough coverage - too watery and thin - but the shade itself was much paler. I also only found out when I got home that half the bottle had leaked all over the inside of the packaging. But I didn't mind as it was so cheap and it's always a risk to try a new foundation, even if it is supposed to be the same shade So I bought my second bottle of Coverage again in 2.0N, again from KaDeWe in Berlin (the only shop I can find in Berlin that stocks the Ordinary foundation). But when I got home and compared it to my existing bottle, it's shades lighter and also much runnier/watery (much like the Serum version I tried). See photos – the left bottle/top shade on arm is the first Coverage 2.0N I bought, the right bottle/bottom shade on arm is my second bottle of Coverage 2.0N. I've taken pics with and without. Reading the reviews on here, I can see others have had this same issue with subsequent bottles of the same shade and product but Ordinary insist they haven't changed the formula. Could it be that as foundation ages it gets darker, due to oxidation or something similar? Although I've never found this to be the case with any other foundation I've used for years, it usually just gets cakier. I had the same product inconsistency issue with the Glycolic toner, which I had been using for years with no problems. Then suddenly my latest bottle burns my skin every time I use it, but Ordinary again insist there has been no product change. What's going on? I'm more disappointed than anything as Ordinary has always been my favourite, fail safe brand but if the products differ all the time it's like buying the lottery (I'm still going to buy another bottle of the Glycolic acid though just to see if it was just a dud bottle I got...)

PLEASE!!! shade 3.0R is the only shade that works for my skin tone and everyone compliments me on my makeup. Literally no other foundation works so please please don't discontinue this

This is the best foundation I've found - it actually matches my skin and lasts. Back in 2019 when there was an almost shut down, I stocked up because I loved it so much. I'd love to do it again, but they've been out of my shade (2.0 YG) for a while now. Does anyone know if it will be coming back? Or is this the last of it? This always happens with my HG products -- and this, along with the concealer, are HGs for me (even in comparison to brands with a higher price point.) I love the Ordinary makeup line - please consider our pleas!

This is the best foundation I have ever used. I've been using it for the last 3 years and never found anything better. It blends nicely, doesn't leave lines, it covers beautifully but does not look heavy or caked in. Please do not discontinue this product, I have used may foundations in the past, some from way more expensive range but never found a product that would be as lovely as yours. Last year I also tried your concealers and same thing - they are the best. Please please do NOT get rid of this product. I would keep buying it even if it were to cost twice as much, I will be forever disappointed when it's gone!

I love this stuff because it's sheer and doesn't feel like foundation. I've never had the issues others here describe, but that's what great about having so many foundation options: everyone will prefer something a little different. For me this is great, but I'm worried they've stopped making it because there are so few color options now.
