Most Helpful Positive Review This stick was "coming... This stick was "coming soon" for a while but it's worth the wait. I'm familiar with foundation sticks but found they tended to be dry and hard to blend out. I use the Complexion Rescue in Opal 01 and it's nice, but more like a tinted moisturizer. I wanted to try what bareMinerals had to offer to use as an enhancer in areas that needed more coverage. It's perfect! This formula glides on the skin like a breeze and has a refreshing cooling effect. I use a brush to apply the Complexion Rescue and a flocked sponge to dab and blend the stick foundation on and around my nose, chin and jawline. I'm in my late thirties and went through 4 rounds of Accutane for adult cystic acne in my late twenties and early thirties. I have the added difficulty of sensitive and combination skin. I'm very careful with what I use on my skin since my acne is in remission and chose it based on its ingredients. I've haven't reacted to it after several months of use. I like the dewy finish and use it as and sometimes finishing my t-zone with loose mineral powder. It lasts all day and covers my acne scars without pulling orange. I turned to Jayne Iredale during my acne years but found her product line missing some elements I needed. bareMinerals has filled in those gaps wonderfully. Definitely recommend.
Most Helpful Critical Review I've worn this... I've worn this foundation about 7 times in total, all on days that I've been at work. For reference, I work in a pharmacy. The temperature is always the same (FREEZING), and I don't really do a lot throughout the day that would put a lot of stress on my makeup. Here are my thoughts:
Application: the stick certainly applies easily without tugging. Its very creamy to the point where I feel that I have to blend it out with a brush, but its so creamy that I get brush lines and have to smooth it out with a sponge afterward anyway.
Finish: I wouldn't call this greasy, but it's EXTREMELY dewy. If you're oily, stay away. I'm pretty dry but its almost too much for me. I think it might also benefit from a pore filling primer underneath. I didnt use one with it, and whoa did it sink into my biggest, baddest pores like crazy. I did have to powder it or it wouldn't have lasted at all, as its way too tacky. Once lightly powdered it does still look nice, fresh, and glowy.
Coverage: there isn't much of it. I'm very fair and have a lot of redness, and unless I wanted all that redness along with dark spots and pimples to show through, I had to hit the concealer hard. I tried building it up but it didn't add more coverage, just made me start to feel a little bit greasy.
Wear time: I spent about 10 hours with this on my face during each wear. At about hour 6 it really started to wear away..and that's being somewhere that I haven't been sweating or doing anything strenuous. Not super long wearing, but with how dewy it is I wasn't really surprised. Some days it broke up a lot around my chin, some days it didn't.
Overall, I think this stick foundation is okay, but I don't love it. I don't like it nearly as much as the regular complexion rescue in the tube. I think this product is best suited for dry skin, that doesn't have a lot to cover up. I'll probably continue to use it for vacation days at the beach, or running quick errands, but it won't be my go to.

Best foundation ever, obsessed with it
My favorite stick foundation 5
Irina from Charleston, SC
I hate stick foundations - they look heavy, take forever to blend out, exaggerate every line and pore on my face, and refuse to wash off at the end of the day. This, however, is the one and only stick foundation that not only proved to be the absolutely opposite, but also sparked my curiosity to try more stick formulas in the future. Shockingly, I am able to blend this so easily (even with a sponge) and make it look natural on the skin. The color also matches my skin tone perfectly. It couldn't be easier to apply - just swipe and go. The only thing I wouldn't do is bring this with me in my bag. I live in the south and it can get really hot in the summer and I may or may not have melted this in my purse :)

I absolutely adore this foundation. I have dry skin and acne rosacea (tiny acne-like spots on my cheeks and forehead, not much redness) and this feels like a dream on my skin. It's super dewy and easy to blend, gives light coverage so I spot conceal after applying, then I set it with a setting powder so it isn't too glowy. I'm going to buy a couple more next time I make a makeup purchase because I know I'll go through this super quickly!
Not for oily acne prone skin 1
A.M from Las Vegas NV
I've always used baremineral products for the last 10 years and this was the worst one I've used. Does not blend into the skin well just sits on top of skin and creases extremely easily. If you have and acne spots or dry patches it emphasizes that area. Face was shiny and super oily after wearing it for 1 hour.
Perfect for dry sensitive skin 5
Lyss from Oklahoma City
It has nice coverage, and is soothing to apply. I use with a damp beauty blender and can layer if wanting more coverage! I have sensitive skin that is dry and breaks out easily, ive had no problems with this foundation, it seems to help keep my skin moisturized! :)
Light to medium coverage 5
Rachel from Baton Rouge, LA
This is good everyday foundation. The coverage is light and I use the bare minerals concealer stick for under eyes and blemishes. It's very quick and easy to apply which is good for weekdays when you just want to get up and get going quick
Heavier than expected 4
HopaDaPopa from Saginaw, MI
I used the product as a day to day foundation. I wanted something that didn't soak into my skin, but still had light-medium coverage. While this did both, it all felt very heavy and kind of cakey and transferred like crazy.
Not for me! 2

This foundation stick has so many positive reviews, but for me, it was anything but.. I love bareMinerals products for their commitment to using natural ingredients, no animal testing, etc, but this just did nothing for my skin, and actually caused a breakout, which is very rare for me! First off, the foundation is hard to apply as it is in a tube and the stick is quite thick so you really need to push into your face to draw a line on your cheek, forehead, etc, then use a second method to blend it in, not great if you want a quick makeup routine. This is where I struggled, as when I tried to blend it, the cream was so thick I had great difficulty trying to blend it around my face - it just kinda stayed in one place. I'm not sure if the product I purchased was a few months old perhaps? But this just didn't want to work with my skin, and due to me trying so hard to blend it, it caused a breakout the next day. This just didn't work for me and I don't think I'll be using this awkward foundation stick in the future, will stick to liquid or powder. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. Wanted to love it 2
Kels from North Carolina
I really wanted to love this so bad but it's just not right for my skin. I have normal/combo skin but get oily in the summers and this just emphasized the oiliness. Tried it without setting it & with setting it and still didn't work. It settled in lines and looked like a nasty mess around my nose. Blended easily and the coverage was nice though. Will be returning unfortunately.
CREAMY 4
Ris from Cincinnati
Bought this to try out. First time applying it to my face the the stick straight melted and crumbled. The foundation itself is nice and light weight but I'm upset that the stick was sooo creamy it just crumbled on first application. Coverage is like said it's medium to buildable and feels nice on the face plus it has spf so that's nice to have in the summer months. Not sure if but again but worth the try.
Smells like mildew 1

I really wanted to love it, but didn't. The odor is outrageously offputting
Great for Dry Skin 5
MakeupGirl101 from DC
My new Holy Grail! Great for dry to combo dry skin. I use this foundation with BareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer, and a light dusting of translucent setting powder on my Tzone. I found that the foundation looks best when applied with a foundation brush. This combination makes the foundation flawless for 10 hours—which NEVER happens for me! For reference, I'm in my mid-30s with combo dry skin. PLEASE DO NOT discontinue!!!
Awful for oily skin. 2
Atr1005 from Tampa, FL
It was very excited to try this foundation and was so disappointed that it did not work with my oily skin. I really like the light coverage natural finish of the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream for a casual no makeup look, but was looking for a bit more coverage for a professional setting. The foundation is hydrating and provides a beautiful medium coverage finish once blended out, but within half a hour (even with a a serious matte primer underneath and the mineral veil on top) my face looked like an oil slick. The foundation melted off my t-zone, easily transferred onto anything that touched my face, settled into fine lines, and just generally made my face look gross. I think this would be a great foundation for someone with normal to dry skin. Oily skin should stay away.
I really loved it at first... 3
muggle2mrs from Florida
I love how hydrating this feels and the shade match was PERFECT...BUT, I've only had this foundation stick for about a year and it has developed a smell. It smells like old musty water if that makes sense. Has anyone else experienced this or did I just get a fluke?
Great Product 4
PhillyCurls7 from Philadelphia
I really like this foundation stick. Overall, my skin is fairly dry so I use a good serum and moisturizer, and I use this as my foundation before applying the rest of my makeup. It does get a little greasy during the day, but it's not skin oil. My husband is a scientist, and the way he explained it is the product slowly breaks down a bit while wearing it, so it's kind of separating as the day goes on. I don't really mind that so much because I think that generally happens with a lot of makeup. My biggest and only complaint is about the color choices. I have fair skin that is between a peachy and yellow tone. The Opal is too pink on my skin, and the Vanilla is a little more yellow toned, but too dark. I use the Opal and I'm able to make it work be blending it a little on my neck and also using bronzer, blush, and highlight, but I wish there were more shades available. The other BareMinerals formulas have many more shade options. Other than that, I like it. It lasts, it doesn't smell nasty, it glides on nicely, it blends, and it looks natural.
Great medium coverage 4
Lauren from TN
I'm a 41 year old with dry skin. This was my first time trying a stick foundation, and I was very impressed. I felt it blended easily and went on smoothly. It didn't settle into fine lines or pores even after a full day's wear, without a setting spray. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars was that there wasn't a better match to my skin tone. I have medium fair skin with very pink undertones. I went with the cashew shade based upon a store employee recommendation, which I do believe was the closest shade to mine, but I think a shade made for pink undertones instead of the peach would downplay my redness more. I will definitely be buying again, but will also be on the lookout for something that matches my tone a little better.
Love this!!! 5
Tq from California
This foundation is easy to blend and worked nicely with my dry skin, which most foundation sticks work better with oily skin so I was surprised. I love that it has SPF and perfect foundation for that no makeup look. It's really easy to work with because it's a stick and I recommend it if you have the money for it! It is a brand that is not cheap but this particular product is worth it.
Lightweight Good coverage 5
Margalee from Ia
This is lightweight, has good coverage and doesn't cake or turn chalky. It also doen't sit in pores much. It's very easy to use.
My New Go-To Foundation 5
Emily C from Alexandria, MN
I was looking for a hydrating foundation that did not dry my face out even more than it already is and this is perfect foundation!! I have very dry and sensitive skin so I love how this foundation feels and looks on my skin! I like looking more natural so this foundation gave me the perfect coverage! The foundation feels very cooling and hydrating as I applied it on my face! It has a dewy finish so I would not recommend this if you have oily skin. This foundation blends very well and is buildable so I didn't even have to use concealer! I also like that this foundation has sunscreen in it! I like the size of the foundation stick because I can easily store it anywhere. I also like that it is not messy!

It was good but I personally didn't like it it was my first time tryin foundation sticks didn't rlly last me too long
I adore it. my gripe is minimal. 4
Sally Jolene holt from hillbilly, ca
pros: lovely natural finish last all day.
con: spf in foundations have no efficacy whatsoever. thus its useless and should not be depended on to protect your skin. especially since spf is below 30. it's just a cheap filler to hike up the price. I loathe the beauty industry deceptive marketing strategies.
tip: I would recommend for dry skin types not oily. it's more manageable to blend out with a brush. I always spread applications of foundations with a brush and then buff out with a blending sponge. liquid in a pump seems more satisfying for me then stick formula but thats all personal preference.
..for reference.....
I have dry to combo skin. my shade range is fair/neutral with slightly warm dominance. my concerns are large pores on nose, minimal aging signs like a few fine lines and scarring but I am 38 with a conscience of skin health and a skin care routine that is realistic based on scientific reasoning.....not beauty industry deceptive marketing hypes. I have sun damage from my skin health ignorance years where I didn't understand the efficacy of caring for my skin. fyi....everyone with anti aging on the mind should use spf all year around including on the eyes. no fancy anti aging or eye cream can fight off sun damage like spf topical formulas. but spf in foundations is unnecessary to hike the prices and isn't adequate enough to protect. and I am platinum blonde and blue eyes. my family is very diverse and I have very dark black skinned beauty enthusiasts within my circle and very pale white skin family too. so my recommendation is with all that in mind to recommend and purchase foundations.
Best Ever 5
Kiki from Ohio
The one foundation I have purchased over and over. It is not dry like some foundation sticks can be. It looks like your skin yet it has coverage. My mom and sister tried it and loved it too. I can't recommend it enough.
Best for quick coverage and acne-prone skin 5
Summer from Alexandria, VA
Travels well. Applies fast and easy. Do not have to touch your face with your fingers. spf. Matches my skin tone well. I have had acne forever and this is the best foundation I've ever used on my skin.
Hard to blend 3
Libby from St. Louis, MO
I liked the coverage and texture of this product but found it took to much effort to blend out with a sponge and when I layered with other products it looked cakey. I didn't like the finish when tried with a brush. Went with the brands liquid foundation and liked that much more.

Perfect amount of coverage, non-heavy. This is the perfect stick foundation if you're looking for natural coverage that still has SPF.
