Most Helpful Positive Review This stick was "coming...
This stick was "coming soon" for a while but it's worth the wait. I'm familiar with foundation sticks but found they tended to be dry and hard to blend out. I use the Complexion Rescue in Opal 01 and it's nice, but more like a tinted moisturizer. I wanted to try what bareMinerals had to offer to use as an enhancer in areas that needed more coverage. It's perfect! This formula glides on the skin like a breeze and has a refreshing cooling effect. I use a brush to apply the Complexion Rescue and a flocked sponge to dab and blend the stick foundation on and around my nose, chin and jawline. I'm in my late thirties and went through 4 rounds of Accutane for adult cystic acne in my late twenties and early thirties. I have the added difficulty of sensitive and combination skin. I'm very careful with what I use on my skin since my acne is in remission and chose it based on its ingredients. I've haven't reacted to it after several months of use. I like the dewy finish and use it as and sometimes finishing my t-zone with loose mineral powder. It lasts all day and covers my acne scars without pulling orange. I turned to Jayne Iredale during my acne years but found her product line missing some elements I needed. bareMinerals has filled in those gaps wonderfully. Definitely recommend.
Most Helpful Critical Review I've worn this...
I've worn this foundation about 7 times in total, all on days that I've been at work. For reference, I work in a pharmacy. The temperature is always the same (FREEZING), and I don't really do a lot throughout the day that would put a lot of stress on my makeup. Here are my thoughts:
Application: the stick certainly applies easily without tugging. Its very creamy to the point where I feel that I have to blend it out with a brush, but its so creamy that I get brush lines and have to smooth it out with a sponge afterward anyway.
Finish: I wouldn't call this greasy, but it's EXTREMELY dewy. If you're oily, stay away. I'm pretty dry but its almost too much for me. I think it might also benefit from a pore filling primer underneath. I didnt use one with it, and whoa did it sink into my biggest, baddest pores like crazy. I did have to powder it or it wouldn't have lasted at all, as its way too tacky. Once lightly powdered it does still look nice, fresh, and glowy.
Coverage: there isn't much of it. I'm very fair and have a lot of redness, and unless I wanted all that redness along with dark spots and pimples to show through, I had to hit the concealer hard. I tried building it up but it didn't add more coverage, just made me start to feel a little bit greasy.
Wear time: I spent about 10 hours with this on my face during each wear. At about hour 6 it really started to wear away..and that's being somewhere that I haven't been sweating or doing anything strenuous. Not super long wearing, but with how dewy it is I wasn't really surprised. Some days it broke up a lot around my chin, some days it didn't.
Overall, I think this stick foundation is okay, but I don't love it. I don't like it nearly as much as the regular complexion rescue in the tube. I think this product is best suited for dry skin, that doesn't have a lot to cover up. I'll probably continue to use it for vacation days at the beach, or running quick errands, but it won't be my go to.

I usually go for a very natural look and just use this for some coverage to smooth out my pores. My combo skin is very picky with foundations but it *loves* this one.

If you are struggling with blending out on large pores, dry spots and wrinkles (like me) this cream is the way to go. I stay hydrated all day with it. No dry patches (I swear).
#1. Spot or dab the producr on, don't swipe.. then blend it out with a brush and hit the tough areas with a sponge. Honestly, that sounds like a lot, but I can do it way quicker than any other foundation type.
And if that's still too much,
#2. Try a stipple brush, swirl it on the foundation, then swirl the foundation deep into the brush by swirling it on the lid (or other clean, non porous surface) THEN swirl it all over the face and neck for an unbelievably natural look.
#3. Avoid the lower eyelid. Use foundation (or concealer) in the hollow/socket/ bag area of the under eye, not in the area up where eyeshadows and liners can go.. those lines in those areas area easier to hide with some buffed on eyeshadow (used as a liner, applied with a pencil brush)

Too thick, hard to get an even blend even with primer. The smell of this stick was COMPLETELY AWFUL.
BEST PRODUCT EVER

I can't recommend this enough. This is my new favorite foundation. It makes my skin tone perfectly and is exactly what I've been looking for. I have rosacea so I like to even my skin tone and need some coverage, but also don't like to wear a ton of makeup. This is buildable and gives great coverage and makes your skin look flawless. I haven't used many bare minerals products but this has me hooked!
Courtneh from Dallas, Texas
I use this everyday and I love that I can control of the coverage is minimal or full. I have extremely dry skin and this makes me glow and feel hydrated.
I love it
Chricas from Florida
This is a great foundation… I am 47 years old with combo skin. This foundation is good coverage, hydrating without being greasy and sinks right into my skin. Not cakey, no primer needed, it's good for your skin and spf…what more can you ask for. I put this on top of my bare minerals longevity serum…set it with a light dusting of an HD powder and I am flawless all day
WOULD NOT BUY

I would have given this zero stars if possible. I am a big fan of foundation sticks and this one hands-down has been the worst one yet. it does not look good on the skin nor does it feel good. it looks especially bad under the eyes since it seeps into fine lines and wrinkles. I am very disappointing bare minimal's never again.
Better than the tinted gel!
skrits from Florida
I have the tinted gel moisturizer version too, but the stick is way better! Never watery, blendable with fingers and it doesn't get streaky, and you don't turn into a greaseball immediately after application. I set it with some powder and it lasts all day on my combo skin. The case feels luxurious. New holy grail foundation/spot concealer!
Not worth the price
BKE from Myrtle Beach South Carolina
The color was a good match. However the coverage leaves a lot to be desired. Doesn't hide my little skin imperfections and it emphasizes my wrinkles. Around my eyes specifically. I actually thought this would've been a bigger product container not a very small stick.
Really great hydrating foundation
Ash from Florida
I'm a skincare freak and have super sensitive skin, typically combo oily and will breakout if I put anything less than pure on it. I've been looking for that "holy grail" foundation for as long as I can remember. I have been through almost all of bareminerals products at this point and I truly do love them all. This product has mostly everything I would look for in my HG product, but unfortunately it's not fully there (like most of their foundations) for me. I love the finish of this product, I love the ease of use, I love how it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. I found a shade that matches almost perfectly, BUT it falls short for me as far as the wear of the foundation. I don't have dry skin but I do love a nice hydrating foundation because I love the "skin like" look the most. This foundation looks amazing for the first 2-3 hours in me and then goes a little too greasy and it transfers pretty bad after that. I even set with powder and use a setting spray but that still doesn't do too much. Super disappointed but honestly it's an amazing product and I will continue to use it but I will be saving it for short wear days or the wintertime only when my skin gets drier. If you have combo/dry or dry skin, this foundation would probably be absolutely amazing! Application tip: do NOT use too much, just make a few dots in each area of your face, blend out lightly with a flat top foundation brush, and then you can go over blemishes and dark spots with just a finger and dap on a tiny bit more of the foundation. I think people are using too much if they think in looks cakey, it's not a full coverage foundation so if that's what you are looking for you need to use the bare pro or something made for that. Lastly, please don't complain about the smell with products like this! Of course it's not going to smell amazing, it's got natural ingredients and zero fragrance in it for a reason! It drives me crazy when people comment over and over that it smells weird because that's the reason why so many companies add scents and fragrance to their products and there is absolutely no reason your skincare and makeup should smell "good". This brand is after all, for those with sensitive skin. The scent it very light and goes away almost immediately after blending in. After all these years I always end up coming back to BM and will continue to use and buy new products they come out with, they are quite honestly the only brand I trust 1000% on my sensitive skin. I have about 4 face products that I regularly use but haven't found that one yet that hits all the marks for my everyday HG foundation. Keep making amazing products BM! You've got a customer for life.

My favorite stick foundation
Irina from Charleston, SC
I hate stick foundations - they look heavy, take forever to blend out, exaggerate every line and pore on my face, and refuse to wash off at the end of the day. This, however, is the one and only stick foundation that not only proved to be the absolutely opposite, but also sparked my curiosity to try more stick formulas in the future. Shockingly, I am able to blend this so easily (even with a sponge) and make it look natural on the skin. The color also matches my skin tone perfectly. It couldn't be easier to apply - just swipe and go. The only thing I wouldn't do is bring this with me in my bag. I live in the south and it can get really hot in the summer and I may or may not have melted this in my purse :)
Jessica from NC
I absolutely adore this foundation. I have dry skin and acne rosacea (tiny acne-like spots on my cheeks and forehead, not much redness) and this feels like a dream on my skin. It's super dewy and easy to blend, gives light coverage so I spot conceal after applying, then I set it with a setting powder so it isn't too glowy. I'm going to buy a couple more next time I make a makeup purchase because I know I'll go through this super quickly!
Not for oily acne prone skin
A.M from Las Vegas NV
I've always used baremineral products for the last 10 years and this was the worst one I've used. Does not blend into the skin well just sits on top of skin and creases extremely easily. If you have and acne spots or dry patches it emphasizes that area. Face was shiny and super oily after wearing it for 1 hour.
Perfect for dry sensitive skin
Lyss from Oklahoma City
It has nice coverage, and is soothing to apply. I use with a damp beauty blender and can layer if wanting more coverage! I have sensitive skin that is dry and breaks out easily, ive had no problems with this foundation, it seems to help keep my skin moisturized! :)
Light to medium coverage
Rachel from Baton Rouge, LA
This is good everyday foundation. The coverage is light and I use the bare minerals concealer stick for under eyes and blemishes. It's very quick and easy to apply which is good for weekdays when you just want to get up and get going quick
Heavier than expected
HopaDaPopa from Saginaw, MI
I used the product as a day to day foundation. I wanted something that didn't soak into my skin, but still had light-medium coverage. While this did both, it all felt very heavy and kind of cakey and transferred like crazy.
Not for me!
Selena from Miami, FL
This foundation stick has so many positive reviews, but for me, it was anything but.. I love bareMinerals products for their commitment to using natural ingredients, no animal testing, etc, but this just did nothing for my skin, and actually caused a breakout, which is very rare for me! First off, the foundation is hard to apply as it is in a tube and the stick is quite thick so you really need to push into your face to draw a line on your cheek, forehead, etc, then use a second method to blend it in, not great if you want a quick makeup routine. This is where I struggled, as when I tried to blend it, the cream was so thick I had great difficulty trying to blend it around my face - it just kinda stayed in one place. I'm not sure if the product I purchased was a few months old perhaps? But this just didn't want to work with my skin, and due to me trying so hard to blend it, it caused a breakout the next day. This just didn't work for me and I don't think I'll be using this awkward foundation stick in the future, will stick to liquid or powder. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. Wanted to love it
Kels from North Carolina
I really wanted to love this so bad but it's just not right for my skin. I have normal/combo skin but get oily in the summers and this just emphasized the oiliness. Tried it without setting it & with setting it and still didn't work. It settled in lines and looked like a nasty mess around my nose. Blended easily and the coverage was nice though. Will be returning unfortunately.
Ris from Cincinnati
Bought this to try out. First time applying it to my face the the stick straight melted and crumbled. The foundation itself is nice and light weight but I'm upset that the stick was sooo creamy it just crumbled on first application. Coverage is like said it's medium to buildable and feels nice on the face plus it has spf so that's nice to have in the summer months. Not sure if but again but worth the try.
Smells like mildew

Great for Dry Skin
MakeupGirl101 from DC
My new Holy Grail! Great for dry to combo dry skin. I use this foundation with BareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer, and a light dusting of translucent setting powder on my Tzone. I found that the foundation looks best when applied with a foundation brush. This combination makes the foundation flawless for 10 hours—which NEVER happens for me! For reference, I'm in my mid-30s with combo dry skin. PLEASE DO NOT discontinue!!!
Awful for oily skin.
Atr1005 from Tampa, FL
It was very excited to try this foundation and was so disappointed that it did not work with my oily skin. I really like the light coverage natural finish of the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream for a casual no makeup look, but was looking for a bit more coverage for a professional setting. The foundation is hydrating and provides a beautiful medium coverage finish once blended out, but within half a hour (even with a a serious matte primer underneath and the mineral veil on top) my face looked like an oil slick. The foundation melted off my t-zone, easily transferred onto anything that touched my face, settled into fine lines, and just generally made my face look gross. I think this would be a great foundation for someone with normal to dry skin. Oily skin should stay away.
