Packaging Letdown

I was *SO* excited about this product. I've recently been wearing a lot of light coverage/tinted moisturizer type foundations and needed a little cream-based color to hit the cheekbones. I thought this product looked extremely promising. I use Stila's liquid eyeliner, liquid eyeshadows, and have sev...eral of their older eye palettes (back when their glitter shades absolutely ruled). (Side note: Like, all in all, can we agree that Stila is such an overlooked brand and needs to step up and get in the game?? Please contact me, I have so many marketing ideas.) While the product itself works absolutely fine - beautiful color (Sheer Peony), long-lasting wear, slight highlighting shimmer - the packaging is absolutely awful. You have to hold the little, shiny gold base that covers the actual cosmetic stick and then twist the bottom of the container. I tried to do so ever so lightly, but the product wasn't raising (think tube of lipstick). By the time I got it to move, the entire stick had cracked into four pieces. I've seen the same thing happen in other reviews. Once you get past that initial "click" from separating the base and the bottom, it raises and lowers just fine. Why Stila went with such a cheap dispenser, I have no idea. If you are lucky and can somehow avoid this, it's a great product. Otherwise, wait until they release an updated product. Nowhere near as practical as they make it out to be. (Seriously, who signs off on these decisions?? Hire a new product development team, pronto! Happy to help, of course.)
