Most Helpful Positive Review Best shampoo I've used I've been using this shampoo and matching conditioner for about 3 months now and I LOVE it! Despite good eating habits and taking good care of myself, my hair was falling out, in HANDFULLS. This went on for months until I looked like I was undergoing chemo treatments. After 2 weeks of using these products, the fallout literally stopped. I don't color my hair, but was told to use a sulfate free shampoo as sulfate sensitivity can cause drastic hair loss. After trying several brands with less than stellar results (they didn't lather, they left my hair greasy, they didn't stop the shedding, etc) I'm so happy I read the reviews here and gave this one a try. I'm a customer for life!
Most Helpful Critical Review Okay This shampoo is okay. I really like that it is sulfate and paraben free, and it lathers well for being sulfate free. It smells good. It says you don't need to use a lot because the product is so concentrated, but I find myself having to use a good amount to get it to lather and cover the area I want to wash. I don't mind spending more if a product is going to last, but it doesn't look like its going to last that long. I have never had an issue with greasy hair, and can usually go without washing every other day, but using this shampoo, my hair starts to look greasy at the roots about five hours after the wash.

I actually wash, rinse and repeat and my hair feels and looks fabulous! The new color is still fresh and pretty and my long hair has a lot of body!
I would buy again 5
Mae from Saint Marys, Ga
I really like the shampoo. It smells very nice and lathers well if you use a lot of it. It's to expensive though!!
I would buy this product again. 5

Product is a little expensive, but it is a good product.
Will be buying the liter bottles! 5

I was in search of a product to help reduce tangle and hair breakage/fall out after having a little more blonde added than normal. I have fine, naturally curly hair. This shampoo/conditioner combo did it for me! After washing and applying the conditioner, it does still feel stringy- but upon rinsing it's so smooth and detangles easily, which is exactly what I was hoping it would do! It doesn't weigh my hair down, either. I loved AG products, and I strayed due to cost- never again. It's worth every penny, and a little goes a LONG way.
Will never buy again 1

I was looking for another sulfate free shampoo to try. I read the reviews and this one seemed promising, so I bought the 33 oz. size. What a mistake. This shampoo is horrible. Every time I use it, my hair literally seizes up and I have fine, shoulder length hair. It makes no sense. I will have to throw this out. The light conditioner is just as bad. Horrible purchase on my part!!
MICROPLASTICS 1
S from Austin, TX
This product contains two types of microplastics "Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Crosspolymer" and "Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer". You can find them on the red list of beatthemicrobead website. These are horrible for the enviornment, even more so than the plastic bottle this comes in. Don't buy this!
Love it 5

I don't wash my hair often but I needed a good shampoo for my color treated hair and this does just that! Not heavy, doesn't coat my hair and smells great. Will purchase again.
greasy roots, dry ends 2

I dye my hair fantasy colors so I picked up this shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is weirdly difficult to squeeze out of the bottle and my hair still feels dirty after washing. The conditioner doesn't actually condition my hair either, it leaves it feeling so dry.
Awful! 1
MAC from Durham, NC
I don't write reviews often, but for this I have to. My stylist recommended this to me so I tried it. One use and it felt like my hair was so greasy I couldn't stand it. I tried it again a few days later thinking maybe I didn't rinse it all. I even tried a scalp scrubber to make sure it all came out. My hair feels even worse than the first time. I seriously feel like there's slime in my hair.
Best Shampoo for Vivid hair 4
Erinbeeeeee from Maine
This shampoo is a must have for anyone who has vivid hair colors. My hair stays incredibly bright and true to color after using this. It does make your hair feel a bit dry after shampooing but nothing that the conditioner doesn't fix. Worth the splurge.

I used to use DevaCurl no-poo for my fine/thin wavy hair. I got a trial size of this and liked it well enough. I decided to give the full size of this a chance when it was on sale during one of Ulta's hair events as the DevaCurl was just too expensive on a grad student budget. I've been using it for over a year now and I SWEAR my hair is fuller and my curls behave better than they did with the DevaCurl. I wash my hair 1-2x/week and I do a sort of double cleanse. I put one pump in, lather at the scalp, quick rinse, then another pump, lather at the scalp, and let it run down the rest of my hair when I rinse. Leaves my scalp feeling clean and not dry.
fav smell, terrible price 2

I only treat myself to this when they have jumbo sales, smells amazing.
Left my hair dry, and greasy 2
LinaU from Sacramento, CA
Smells great, and love how it lathers. BUT it left my hair greasy feeling, and my ends felt way too dry. I'd only use it a few times a week. To be completely honest. I never had this issue with Dove and of all brands, as well as more prestigious brands like Kenra, or Redken!
I bought it in May of this year and have finally finished the bottle- I did not return due to Covid, and the closures in my area.
I absolutely love this shampoo 5

I just love this shampoo and conditioner. My hair looks great. My friends have been commenting how thick my hair is. I also love what AG stands for. Go girl power. Please don't change this formula! Please don't sellout to a larger Corporate America. They will ruin it to eek out more profit.
Love this cruelty free shampoo! 5

This shampoo is the best! It is foamy and cleans well without being harsh. I use it with the conditioner and my long, fine hair is easy to comb out after I shower.
Greasy hair 1

Left my hair feeling greasy and heavy, with no feeling of cleanliness at all! Overpriced for bad quality!
I really like this product! 5

Small amount needed to get a rich lather. Rinses out easily and hair feels clean. Adds volume and shine. Recommended by a stylist for color treated hair. Would buy this shampoo again, but is pricey.
Aesthetician recommended 2
Flores from Slc, UT
Bought this shampoo because it was recommended by my aesthetician. It doesn't cause breakout but DOESNT cleanse my hair. I have 2B thick course hair. And I only wash it 1/2 times per week. This didn't do it for me.
Would not buy again 1

Don't waste your money!
Wouldn't buy this again 2
Sel from MI
This shampoo made my hair feel so rough and like hay that I would have to put so much conditioner in my hair to make it feel better. Wasn't really worth the money since it is a little bit more pricey.
My go to shampoo for past 6 years!!! 5

I use 3x wk on my color treated frizzy hair. Great clean without a greasy feel. Once a week I use the conditioner.
LEAVES HAIR DRYYYY 1

I don't know where to begin. I dye my hair party colors... I just went from magenta to lavender. One could suggest my hair health was compromised, but it felt good for the first few days. Then I tried this. Great reviews, so I thought I was all set. I couldn't figure out why my hair felt sticky. I thought maybe it was product buildup up, so I washed extra well. I saw my lavender fading, mostly in my bangs. Ironically, that's where the most virgin hair is, but it's more fine in most women. I noticed my hair was super tangly in the front and the bangs were so dry. (The ends of the rest were dry, but it wasn't as noticeable since it's longer.) I wanted to cry. I decided to switch shampoos and after one wash it feels slightly better. Now I'm going to have to deep condition and hope I can revive it. I hope I can. (Incidentally, the shampoo I got is cheaper—Redken—it's what I used with my magenta hair. My hair didn't stay as clean, but I don't care at this point. (When you get party colors, you wash it as little as possible!) Even Hask works better. Be forewarned!
didn't like it 1
May from BC, Canada
too viscous, hard to get it out of the bottle, doesn't smell very nice
Hated it! 1
Hailee from NC
I bought this because I love the AG firewall protection spray. It was awful! My hair was healthy but this made it so dry and brittle. I bought a different shampoo and got rid of these while they were still half full. Started using my old shampoo again and my hair felt 10 times better.
