Most Helpful Positive Review Best Medium Coverage Foundation for the Money! I absolutely adore this foundation. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because there are other products out there at this price point that are actually full coverage. This one is more of a medium coverage foundation and that is not a bad thing at all. It lays nice on the skin and once it is dry, it gives a nice matte look to the skin without crease lines. I did find that the best application method that works for me is with my bare clean hands. I tried a beauty blender, a foundation brush and an Artis Brush, all of which gave the foundation a streaky look or swiped the product right off my face. Using the tips of my fingers, I only needed one or two pumps and basically just applied it like a moisturizer all over and let it sit to dry. Speaking of drying, I think this is a big step that most people fail to take and decide too soon that it is greasy or oily. It is still a liquid foundation so give it a few minutes to settle and dry to see the actual color and texture. I use this everyday and I have very naturally oily skin. I have noticed that the foundation does seem to control the oil a bit more than usual. Bonus, there is an SPF 15 in the product! So many of us either forget or ignore applying SPF to our faces daily so this is an awesome feature for me. There is a very wide selection of colors to choose from as well. However, it would be nice if they could come out with some more cooler shades. I currently use the shade True Beige and once it dries and settles, it blends well with my medium skin tone. As far as rub off...of course it rubs off a little. Honestly, they're aren't many foundations under $10 that don't have some sort of rub off throughout the day. Overall, I am very happy I decided to give this foundation a try and recommend it to anyone with oily-medium skin looking for a light weight medium coverage foundation.
Most Helpful Critical Review Is this the same shade and formula? I?m Brazilian and normally I buy the Revlon Colorstay here in my country that is imported by a national company; I use this foundation by 3 years or more, and it was always perfect to my skin that is oily, and I love that I found the perfect shade for me (320 - true beige), but the last one that I buy came in a different shade that supposed to be and a little bit more liquid than I remembered it was... So I guess the formula has changed, but without any advice to the costumers. I?m feeling very disappointed by my favorite brand in makeup just change the product without any announcement...

I have combo skin so I got the combo formula. Really seems like it's not made for combo skin. It really stuck to my dry patches and would flake, and my forehead would get super oily after 2 hours. It also didn't blend well, you could tell where I first put the foundation to blend it, those spots were always darker.
Nice Foundation 4

Nice foundation, covers well. I didn't expected it to be so lose. I was expecting it to be thicker but it works very well and easily blendable
Not what it used to be 2
Colorstay from Alabama
I'm giving it two stars but I really want to give it 1. I used to LOVE this foundation. I have super oily skin and this used to be the one drugstore foundation I could count on to not melt off of my face. I'm not sure if they have changed the formula or what but this foundation is horrible. It starts to come off within ONE HOUR of wearing it. I kept going back in with setting powder but it didn't help. It was heavy, oily, and sticky until finally I just washed my face and started over with my Double Wear.
Doesn't look bad, but the smell is bad 4
Becca B from Florida
I really liked the look of this foundation, it looks light and airy, definitely not full-coverage. It looks natural after it dries, I just couldn't handle the smell. I never can smell the foundation of other brands while I am wearing it, I had to wash it off.

Cons: Runny, liquidy formula. Takes more effort to blend it out smooth. Appears more dry and textured on forehead, which makes me look older. *Bad smell.*
Pros: It is matte. Does not settle in smile lines. Mostly transfer resistant - it holds up better on the nose wearing glasses than Estee Lauder Double Wear. My oil usually comes through at about the 5 hour mark with other foundation, but this holds strong.
So far, I can't tell if it will trigger a breakout or not. That won't factor into this review at this time.
I think this is fine for what it is, but I couldn't see this being my go-to foundation from the stink of it alone.
Ruined my brushes 1
Brittany from Memphis
Didn't mind the look of this makeup when I wore it but it ruined both of my foundation brushes. I used everything I can think of to try and get this makeup out of my brushes but it is like fused to each bristle. I have never ever had an issue getting the makeup out of them before like this. If it does that to a brush, you can only imagine how bad it is for your skin...
makes me breakout 2

I purchased two lightest shades available. 110 was I think a new formula because it was with a pump, it is very liquid. and 115 was without the pump. difficult to take out, thicker formula. I mixed them, they look good on my skin, with moisturizer, primer and setting spray. but.... at the end of the day, I found my chin area with 4-5 tiny whiteheads. which you can squeeze, if lucky they dont get infected and the following day you're fine. I tested it also without the primer and setting spray, but still it is reviving my healed breakouts...and making them ripe again...so not for me.
Best there is for affordable long lasting foundation 5
Michelle L. from Los Angeles
Having been using this since high school I'm now 28. I have tried almost every foundation out there, both high end and drugstore but always find myself coming back to this one. It honestly is to this day is the best foundation I have found for acne prone, oily/sensitive skin. Applies easily and can last pretty well through a 12 hour work day in all seasons.
Will continue to use this foundation, highly recommend giving it a try.
Not as awesome as advertised 3
Linzseyslilpad from Central Mississippi
It is nearly impossible to pick the correct shade. The shade I thought I was, caramel, is much too orange. Went back the next day and the young lady suggested Toffee. Still too orange. I ended up buying golden caramel and add a slightly darker foundation to come up with my shade. My whole point was to not have too mix shades. I have extremely oily skin so I know a good matte foundation when I find one. With this foundation I was blotting with oil blotting sheets before noon. It's not as awesome as advertised
I will definitely buy this foundation again but… 5

I love this foundation. The only issue i have is after buying i found out it wasn't cruelty free which is disappointing. Great coverage. Great value for the amount of product. I only have to use about 2-3 pumps to cover my whole face.
Why Did They Change It? 2
carashort from Salt Lake City, UT
This used to be my holy grail foundation. It was the perfect shade (240) and the staying power was great for my oily skin. Then, like everyone else is saying, they changed it. My original color is far too dark now and the formula is so much thinner for some reason. Won't be repurchasing.
Prefer this makeup to my more expensive brands 4

Keep Coming Back to It! 5

I've used Revlon Colorstay since I was a teen, so I've used it many, many years. LOL I've tried more expensive brands, but I always come back to my Colorstay. It seems to work really well with my skin, which is very oily and acne-prone. I usually do use a mattifying moisturizer or primer with this (honestly, with any makeup). Because my skin is so oily, I still have to use blotters but only after around five hours. Still, even when I do have some shine, it looks dewy and not greasy with this makeup. I use shade 220 which is natural beige; so I'm a lighter medium with cool undertones in the winter months. In the summer, I wear the 240 which is medium with warm undertones since I tan easily. Both match my skin perfectly for when I'm tanned vs not tanned. I don't find the formula heavy, but I do miss the Whipped version of this makeup; it was great for summer. I will say that if one finds this too heavy, try Clinique Stay Matte; it's very similar to Colorstay and it's great for oily skin too. Overall, this is great if your skin is super oily and the price point is good too.
Horrible 3
Des95 from Ky
This is just terrible foundation. Even when using a primer, and a setting spray this doesn't last very long. Settles into every line, pore, dry patches! Looks VERY orange. I had high hopes because I absolutely love the pressed powder but the foundation is just a no.
I've used for years... 4
*Beauty*In*Ga* from Atlanta, Ga
I've used this foundation for what seems like FOREVER! Great for oily skin, and mine is GREASY. Shade match is perfect. Could be a little more full coverage but it works fine.
I see lots of comments about not being able to find your right shade for foundations...just go to the website findation dot com, pick your current brand and current shade and it will automatically match you to EVERY foundation brand out there! If you want to try one brand in particular but have no idea what shade you would be, it also allows you to choose a specific brand and it will match you right up to what you're currently using! It's so easy!

I love how the ivory matches my pale complexion! Really good product!
Missing the old formula 2
Ether Empress from Long Beach, Ca
The OG formula was amazing. I don't know why they would change it. Not worth buying anymore. The old formula would get five stars. This new one barely 2.
Great foundation! 4
Roxy from Houston, Texas
I applied this foundation and fell in love with it. I just grabbed the wrong shade.
formula changed? I think so 4
sb from Fl
I have used this foundation for years. I think in the last few bottles I bought the formula has changed. it seems thinner than usual. I love this product but liked the other formula a lot better.
DISCONTINUE THIS TERRIBLE PRODUCT. 1
MYSTERIOUS from Napa, CA
Contains terrible ingredients for your skin. Your skin will suffer from using this. Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself and wake up with beautiful cystic acne growing lumps under your skin. Revlon, it's 2021. People actually care about what they put on their faces for makeup products now. This isn't the early 2000's when we would just slap on anything because we didn't know any better. Discontinue this horrible formula!!!! How about actually caring about your customers for a change?
Best foundation for oily and oily/combo skin 5
Dollar from Galena MO
I have used this for many years...I have tried others and always come back to this...Stays on through my 10 hrs work day and into evening when I remove it. I is not tacky at all...can't feel it on. Keeps my eyeshadow in place all day as well. Love it.
good so far 4
Ashley324 from Arkansas
I bought this probably 6 months ago and just now tried it. it's so far been great! it doesn't leave me oily, it's a nice finish, good coverage. I saw some reviews that the formula was changed, I really hope not. right now I'm going between this foundation and ud all nighter.
Why change the formula?? 1
Beamer from Knoxville, TN
I've used this foundation for as long as I can remember..I'm sure ever since Revlon Colorstay foundation first came out. This last bottle I bought I noticed immediately the color looked orange! The formula is also runny now. I had just a little left from a previous bottle and I compared and yes they did change the formula and color. I'm 44 and haven't had a single break out in over a decade. I take very good care of my skin. I started breaking out within the first few days of trying to wear this new formula. I ended up tossing it after the 4th day. It took a week to get my skin looking good again. What a shame that Revlon took a wonderful foundation and turned it into garbage.
New formula? 1
Meghan from MN
I have used this foundation for YEARS. I would try other foundations both drugstore and high-end and would ALWAYS come back to this product. I don't know what happened but recently I've been having trouble blending my foundation & concealer. Ive tried different primers, different setting powders, different concealers, different setting sprays (because there was no way possible it could be my tried and true forever foundation). Sadly, it turns out it was this foundation. It would sit on top, look streaky, and eventually dry in patches around my nose and especially around my hairline/eyebrows. So disappointed..
