How to Use

Overall, I like this concealer. It does work for both under eyes and blemishes, but I prefer it for blemishes and spots. I use the Revlon whipped creme makeup and I love it, for many reasons so I wanted to try the concealer to see if i would have good luck with that too.. (I wear the "natural beige" makeup, and got the concealer in "light" for under eyes and "light medium" for face spots and they work well together!) I am happy because I often have a difficult time finding a good color match.
I prefer this type of applicator for concealers, it feels like it is easy to put the right amount where I want it. I am confident I can put it in my little purse size makeup bag without it making a mess.
I have no complaints on the blemish and spot coverage. I am prone to flakiness- I am happy to say, this concealer doesn't dry me out and cause the flakes. I dot it on all the areas I want to cover, then use a brush to blend it, and its like my face, without the spots.
It covers my dark under eye circles well and doesn't dry me out. It creases a little at first, especially if I use it on my lids to correct the color there since I get darker on the inner corners (but honestly, most concealers in that area do crease a little) I feel like it takes awhile to set on my eye area. The up side to that is it is easy to blend and doesn't set too quickly...For some, you could probably remedy this with a setting powder. I prefer to use a setting spray since i have combination dry/ acne prone skin; powders make me look dry and cling to blemishes- they look flaky and worse than they did before makeup.
They changed the formula, and the new version is VERY different. It used to have a thinner consistency and blend well; it could be layered for more coverage. The new stuff is thicker and dries almost instantly, so you really have to rush when attempting to blend it in. It's taken several days and some frustration to get more used to it, and although it's trickier to work with, it does seem to last longer than the first formula. I'm still undecided; this is definitely a different product (full vs. light to medium coverage), but I'm trying to give it a chance. My color (Fair) seems to be quite close to what it was, at least. Come summer, however, I will definitely want some lighter coverage and be seeking out a different product.

This concealer is the worst I've used. It dries so fast it won't blend well. It immediately settles into creases and looks cakey with or without setting powder. And it is very drying.

I appreciate that it covers better and dries slightly faster. This is so helpful because I'm often in a hurry and don't have time to reapply or wait for my makeup to dry. I highly recommend!

This was my go to everyday concealer until the most recent bottle I bought is clearly not the same. I'm so disappointed! Like others have said, the coverage is terrible, you can't layer, it's even sticky.

Can you bring the old formula back, use yo love that...will not repurchase this one !!

Why do companies always mess up a good thing by discontinuing?

I bought this product for many years, I was really satisfied. They changed the formula and it is dry and amplifies wrinkles a lot (that I don't have much!)… why changing something good?

This used to be my favorite concealer, went on smoothly, lasted all day, and the Fair color was perfect for my skin tone. The new version is terrible! It does not cover as well and clumps. While it lasts, it smears if you are not careful. The color is the worst part, what used to be a perfectly neutral shade is now very yellow and stands out on my skin. The point of a concealer is to blend into the skin to hide imperfections, this it like putting a yellow Post-it on each one! Bad move, Revlon! I will be looking for another brand from now on.

Covered well. Though my typical problem is finding one that can stay put. This was still a problem with this concealer even if I set it with powder.

Full coverage and helpful for my under eye bags, or some blemishes that you want to fully cover. I wouldn't improve this product at all, it is well made.

I agree with everyone's assessment of the new formula. When I picked this up last my heart dropped when I saw the new packaging. Why do they keep changing the formula of great products.
I've been on the hunt for a new product because this new one isn't cutting it.
I've been using this as my HG for forever, I'm just severely disappointed.

Impossible to blend - dries too fast - and dries to a different orangey colour. Unusable.

Full coverage it just what it has to conceal those bad things in my face . Recommend it and worth the price of it I already have a back up .

I've always loved this concealer. My mom when she first bought me concealer she just got this one and I will always like it. Medium coverage buildable too

I have SUPER dry under eyes and terrible dark circles, but I figured out how to make this PERFECT. Until now, I found it impossible to adequately cover my circles without the concealer creasing or looking horrible with powder. This is what's up: FIRST go in with a hydrating color corrector (Becca, Bobbi Brown, Tarte, whichever—this is key!!), THEN apply this but wait about 15 seconds before blending it out. This concealer sets down like paint but doesn't look dry due to the hydration from the corrector. It's AMAZING. Does not require setting powder and has held up beautifully for 16+ hours. This is the only concealer I've tried that doesn't need touching up after a 12 hr shift. I'm stocking up on this!!! I pray it doesn't get discontinued due to the poor ratings!!

l have very dark undereye circles. this one covers well and does not make the undereye fine lines look like a road map! Alone, the concealer has a subtle sheen but that's not a bad look. For a more matte look l first apply a thin coat of Loreal's infallible pro-matte foundation, then l apply a small amount of the colorstay concealer. Lasts all day.

Application method : dry puff/damp sponge + finger.
- thin texture with good coverage,
- natural finish, neither powdery nor too shiny,
- remains as fresh as just applied throughout the day,
- completely transfer-proof (unless it's applied on a naturally oily area),
- doesn't have any darker dry-down, nor any darkening throughout the day,
- resists creasing from sweat and natural oils (as long as it's set with powder),
- medium coverage (for me it's a plus, I don't seek/need heavy coverage),
- truly fragrance-free.
- very fast setting speed (which may cause a cakey result),
- medium coverage (for those who want opaque coverage, it won't be enough).
I'm not a concealer user, usually the foundation itself does the trick. But some of my foundations are so sheer that I need a more covering foundation to conceal my slight dark circles... so I tried to use a concealer for that purpose.
Let's say at first that I tried the old formula of this concealer and I HATED it : the coverage was nonexistent, it never set on my skin, moved and creased and collected into fine lines even after setting with a huge amount of powder, this was a big no for me.
Then I tried this new formula.
As it's a very fast self-setting product, work ONE AREA AT A TIME and WORK FAST (don't dot it everywhere on the face and expect to blend all these areas equally well, the last areas will be dry by the time you reach them for blending).
As I recently began to use a dry puff to apply my foundations (same type as Tati's Blendiful but a much less overpriced dupe), I realized that this extended the drying time, allowing more playtime to blend the concealer. It works with a damp sponge too but the sponge makes it tacky sooner so I have to work faster.
The trick is to blend two ways : first blending it roughly either with a puff or a sponge then finish the blending with a clean finger to smooth it and press it further into the skin, especially into cracks and crannies (otherwise it will stay on top and make them look unconcealed, thus deeper than they are). When it's smoothed out and the tackiness appears, I immediately set it with a translucent powder and it stays in place.
It has exactly the same feeling as Estée Lauder Double Wear : once it's set it becomes super tacky, unmovable and truly transfer resistant, so I think you could be good-to-go without powder as long as you luckily have a smooth (young) and non-oily skin.
As a face concealer, on tiny spots only (I don't use concealer on larger areas), I blend it with a tiny eyeshadow brush and, once powdered, it's barely detectable.
As I don't look for brightening, I use the shade 015 Light, which is a pale shade with a beautiful warm yellow hue. This matches my skintone better than the foundation in 150 Buff which is always too neutral/beige whatever the formula (bottle, both oily and dry formulas, or tube).
It has only medium coverage at best, so to correct and conceal some slight redness of post breakout scars on my face and an ever-so-slightly darkness under my eyes it works perfectly, but it's not full cover by any means.
To make a comparison : the shade is ever-so-slightly deeper, with the same pale yellow hue, than Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer in the shade 1N Extra-Light. But, as the finish is smoother and way less cakey with Colorstay Full Coverage Concealer, I give up on Estée Lauder.
Well done, Revlon !

I love the formula. Never used the one before. I use moisturizer under it and have no trouble with it drying too fast

I had come back to Revlon. Love Colorstay foundation and I am now allergic to all others it seems, so trying all Revlon cosmetics per doctor's recommendation . This concealer is thick and cakey and such a disappointment. If I can't use Revlon, not sure what else I can use!!

I can understand making ANOTHER concealer for those wanting "full coverage" in a liquid concealer, but why do away with the old tried and true formula that people used for years? Please give us choices instead of deciding for us. Most women who use concealer need it under their eyes... I have paint primer that applies easier than this thick gunk.

It matches my skin tone perfectly and looks amazing it's almost like nothing's there I wouldn't improve this product a bit it's just really good and works wonders I would definitely buy it again it's too good to be through

I have been using this concealer for along time - it was the only natural looking blend thst covered my acne and gabe me so much confidence and now the new formula is cakey, thick and orange ! Why why why? I am currently seeking alternatives.
