Most Helpful Positive Review BE CREATIVE WITH THE APPLICATION I have alopecia and my hair is blonde, with highlights...naturally it's darker with gray appearing and white hairs from the Alopecia.
I purchased the light brown. Instead of directly spraying it on my head, I spray it on a makeup brush then brush the color into my bald spots and anywhere else the hair is thinner. I also have the fibers....I use those in medium blonde.....
THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING....and I get to hide the alopecia while being treated by my doctor. My dr. Recommended this product.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not what I expected Here is why I gave this product one star: 1) It's dispensed via aerosol spray; very forceful spray to the point where it makes a mess not only on your hair but if not careful, all over the mirror, counter top, and your shirt if wearing one. 2) When you shake the can, it's very noisy with the pellet hitting the can. I awoke my wife the first time and she thought I was going to paint the walls with wall paint. 3) It's hard to determine where to spray since the forceful spray blows the hair in all directions. Needless to say, I wasted my money but at the time I ordered it, there were no reviews. If I read the reviews now posted, I certainly would not have made the purchase.

I was so happy to try this but it leaves marks that drop from hair on face throughout the day, messing up my makeup
Colored hair thickener -light brown 5
Peter B from undisclosed
Nicely fills in and matches thinning hair areas. Nicely blends pale scalp color to surrounding (dark blond/light brown) hair. Fast and easy to use.
Good when it works bad due to the spray nozzle. 5
Mammaof3 from Close by Ca
Purchased product and root cover up before. The nozzle doesn't spray well—again. It comes out in large amounts and droplets everywhere my face my new vanity and sink. This is a flaw with the product too runny and poor nozzle sprayer.
I was very disappointed with this form of TOPPIK product. 1

I use to fill in thin areas. The spray is to messy and lieves hari stiff and brittle.
Boyfriend used - all walls and couch stained - horrible 1
Embarrassed by stains from New Orleans
This is horrible. It stains everything his head touches and it doesn't come off. Couch is ruined wall has to repainted . Pillows ruined and hand prints all over From him touching g his head and then something. Do not use: having to cover with a blanket. Getting rid of couch. Will have towel for next time. Disgusting

Awful! 1
Donna from Alabama
It is like spray paint, it gets on everything!!! It spatters and it is extremely hard to get off you skin. Worst purchase ever!!!!! With the way it sprays and spatters i should be empty in 3 uses if lucky!!!!!
Decent product 4
Jennifer from Memphis
Product works well for covering up thinning hair. However it's like spray paint and rubs off on hands or pillow at night. Prefer the hair fibers but they get all over the bathroom. This is less bathroom messy.
Does it work? Sort of. Is it messy? YES! 3
Krista from CHICAGO, IL
While I love the Toppik brand over all other hair fiber solutions on the market this new product is lackluster. Very messy and while it enhances your hair color it doesn't cover bald spots like the fibers do. Disappointing.
Rubs off badly 2
Jlfrosty from Alaska
I really wanted to love this because it's less expensive than the Bumble&Bumble spray but info it rubs off terribly. I use it to create more fullness along my hairline and if my hair just falls naturally onto my forehead, this rubs off and makes it look like I've been cleaning a chimney. And if you need to touch your hair for any reason it will rub on your fingers too.
Great for Trichotillomania! 4
edi from CA
I've been struggling with finding a good product to cover up my large bald spots due to Trichotillomania. I used to just use eyeliner gel since my hair is black. But I used the dark brown spray and it was so easy and fast! It covered everything in less than 2 minutes. You have to wait for it to fully dry and it gives volume to those bald spots lol. The only downside is that it does smudge a bit if you touch it with your hand or on pillows or light colored fabrics. You have to be careful about it. But I'd definitely recommend if you have large bald spots!
The Best Cover I Have Found 4
Jax from New Jersey
I use this product to cover a large bald spot at the back of my head due to alopecia. It's the best cover that I have found and people are unaware of my lack of hair problem. However, after a while, the smell is not pleasant especially if I get hot. Also, it comes off on pillows, the back of the couch etc. I guess I have to decide between me and the furniture!
Great product for thinning and/or gray hairs 4
Tam from Avondale
This product really adds volume abs color to hair. I'm older now (40) and this product helps with thinning hair and gray hairs (when I haven't dyed my hair). Beware it leaves a mess in the shower (color drainage) after washing your hair. But I know this prior and deep clean shower
Please bring back the Dry Formula 1
Frustrated from undisclosed
I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and have been receiving shipments as a regular subscription for many years. The new formula is not a dry formula anymore, as it used to be. It even used to be labeled as a "dry formula" on the front of the can, now it is not, although the description on the back of the can states it is a dry formula. I use the black color in the Toppik Colored Hair Thickener. It sprays out very thinly now, which does not camouflage well at all, leaving the scalp still very visible after using the spray. This wet formula does not create any density or thickness like the previously dry formula was able to. Instead, it dries the hair into a sticky, clumped, stiff mess that leaves your thinned areas shiny instead of creating coverage, and it is very difficult to brush through. Even when gently using a pick to comb through the sprayed areas, the hairs are getting pulled out due to the stiffness, as if a strong-hold hairspray had been applied. This new formula is causing more thinning, opposite of its intended purpose to help camouflage and thicken existing thinning areas. The previous dry formula had frequent problems with the can's spray mechanism getting clogged. It seems that instead of fixing the spray mechanism to prevent the clogging issue, the formula itself has been changed, for the worse. I am now desperately searching for other options as Toppik is failing miserably to deliver on its claims to give the appearance of fuller, thicker hair instantly. I am very disappointed that the formula has been changed, as it seems that correcting the clogged spraying mechanism would've been a much better solution than to create more problems the new formula has caused, which leads to losing a loyal, frequent customer. If the formula is changed back to the dry formula that used to actually create a fuller, thicker appearance of thinning areas and hide the exposed scalp, I would remain a Toppik customer.
I would buy this more if it weren't so pricey. 3
Not bad for 65 from Atlanta
This is the best I have found so far but most of the reviews - both positive and negative are pretty accurate.
It does help my fine, thinning hair and it does cover the bald spot on my crown. However, it is embarressing when it comes off on your boyfriends white pillows. if it were only waterproof as I like to swim.
I feel it is very pricey and will look for competitors products, maybe even make my own - Toppix would be smart to price it for the masses and sell it like hairspray.
I am concerned about the aluminum as an ingredient in it as well as the alcohol and other potentially harmful ingredients. You would be smart research adding ingredients that stimulate hair growth and follicles.
Big Disappointment 2
Amanda from Minneapolis, MN
I have a thinning part and I ran out of my usual cover up spray. I was told this brand was good but sadly I am going to be returning. The color only sticks to your hair it doesn't cover up bare scalp. Pretty disappointed.

Very good product to make thinning hair look fuller
Messiest product ever! 1
Sydney from Seattle
I thought this would be convenient and easy to use. It doesn't spray out smoothly and will leave dots of product all over the floor/counter/wherever you sprayed it over. It also spreads like wildfire to any surface your the applied areas touch. It's literally terrible.
Loved it! 5

Amazing for Alopecia 5
Alopecia Queen from St George, Utah
I absolutely love this product! I have bought a can of this every three weeks for the past several years. It covers my bald spots from Alopecia and thinning hair due to scar tissue so well! There is some trial and error on how to apply but once you get it down it works great. It does transfer onto pillow cases but washes out completely (I get the dark brown color). I go two days before it starts to look greasy on my scalp and can go three in the winter months. I have tried everything and this is the only thing that I've ever loved. It works much better than the fibers as it doesn't "fall" on your face and make a mess. I have found that making small deliberate partings and a light hand works best for me when applying. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Great for my thinning hair 5
Angie from Chicago
This really helps hide the gaps on my scalp left from thinning hair. I recommend putting a visor on or protecting your face before spraying it to avoid splash off onto your skin or clothes. I even use this to just cover my greys.
Don't like this. 2

comes off on yours hands
sticky on your hair
Great product! 4
Zoe from Sacramento
Best one so far. It doesn't "fly out" like the fibers. It will stain pillows though.
Best for balding or thinning areas! 5
Zuzu Bee from Boston Mass
I have trich that results in a rather large "bald" area on my crown. I'm a stylist and a client turned me on to this- life saver!! It is EXCELLENT for creating the illusion of thickness especially in thinning areas.
The spray makes it easy to apply- I recommend spraying in short bursts 3-4" from the scalp.
I purchased light brown; perfect for dark blonde to light/medium brown (especially when natural is mixed with gray.
Been using it for a few months, works great! 5
Fudgey4 from New York
It does thicken your hair, covers gray, works great, easily washes out.
