I ran out of a different brand of dip liquids (starts with an R) and wanted to find something I could buy locally and spend a little less on. I gave this a shot because I had a coupon, so it was a really good value. Compared to the other brand, the bottles are a bit smaller, but I like that because after a few uses, the other bottles tended to get stuck shut and goopy bottle necks. Having smaller bottles will help them not get too goopy before all the product is gone. They seem to perform on par with the other brand. As with all dip products, there is a learning curve. This is why I took off a star. The directions that come with this are vague and overly simplistic. For someone who is already used to dipping and has gotten the hang of the process, this doesn't matter. But for someone who's never done it before, they need more clear directions, tips and tricks. I thought it was nice that it came with a little bottle of acetone remover and a nail prep liquid. But, ultimately, not really necessary. I would rather pay less and only get the dip liquids. one little bottle of acetone is MAYBE enough to remove the product one time, which isn't really helpful. In the end, I would definitely buy these again. I appreciate that I can get them in-store and that they don't cost as much, the smaller bottles mean that they may not become totally goopy before the product runs out and they perform just as well as other popular brands.
First let me say that I actually loved the end product. If you spend the time and effort to research how to do a good dip manicure and be very careful with your application, the result is beautiful and long-lasting. Mine lasted over two weeks without chipping, I actually had to peel the dip off (bad for you nails, I know).
But this kit in general is a total waste of money. I believe I spent about $35 or so on this kit, but the bottles you get are tiny, not full size bottles. The top coat had the consistency of superglue half way into my first use. They even include 'brush softener' for when this happens.. correct me if I'm wrong but is it not just a regular top coat? I have multiple other top coats that don't turn into this consistency 20 minutes into use. I ended up throwing away the top coat because it was such a useless mess. So that's 2 out of the 4 bottles that are essentially useless. The base coat and the activator are typical but I went in to go for my second use and literally can not for the life of me even open the base coat bottle, it's completely sealed shut. The "purify" and "erase" are also pretty useless in my opinion. Not to mention you also have to buy an actual dip powder separately, which will cost you another $10 or so dollars.
Dip manicures at home are so easy and give such long-lasting beautiful results as long as you take the time to do them well. I highly recommend skipping this kit and spending the extra $$ on full-size, reusable, and useful bottles of product.

This was the worst dip liquids I've ever used. I would 100% never recommend buying this. Honestly the top coat brush hardened immediately & the other liquids dried pretty fast & they lasted me a day before they popped off because the liquid wasn't good at all. Honestly i will be returning it and not buying another liquid from ulta again.

I tried using a different product for about 18 months. I thought I was doing it wrong so this was my last attempt at doing it myself. Apparently the other product is defective because this WORKED GREAT! I will be buying only this product for my nails.

I bought this kit in a pre-Black Friday sale. It's a great way to test dip polish. I'm not sure I'd pay full price for it, but it is cheaper than buying the full-size bottles. And less money than the nail parlor.
There's a learning curve for dip nails - I watched a bunch of videos in preparation. It's basically acrylic but you build layers instead of mixing the powder and liquids for each nail at once.
The only issue was the top coat - the brush hardened and clumped together in between coats. The brush cleaner included worked, but it added 40 min to my manicure.

I used to frequent the salon for my nails. Now with 3 kids I don't have the time. Bought this for a birthday gift for myself. Watched a couple of how-to videos because the directions in the kit are a bit vague. When the baby took a nap, I got to work. My brushed did not get hard. The finished results were great! I'm converted.

I will be honest and say this was my first try with a dip type of nail color, but it was putzy, difficult to put on uniformly, and they should have included a nail buffer and file to the kit. Better instructions would help. I used the top coat brush and upon pulling it out of the bottle, it was already clumped together. So I needed to soften the brush before I even got to use it the first time. I'm very unimpressed.

I thought this product would be easy to use. Was looking good until I applied activator. The nail became lumpy and a mess. One color I thought I was getting was a burnt orange. Opened it sn applied and it was neon pink. Not happy with this product. Now O have $50+ of product I will never use again!

The first time I used this product my nails only last a couple days. I would go to open a drawer or do a simple task and they would just pop off taking bits of the top layer of my nail with it. I figured I would give it one more shot and was super careful to follow all the instructions —- and they lasted almost a week. But they didn't just chip they got caught on things and popped off ruining my nails. They looked ok but not really worth damaging your nails.

Instructions for even application very vague/absent. During first time using products, each brush hardened extremely quickly, making even application more difficult. Malodorous—burned my eyes and even my nails. I was excited to save money on nail care by investing in this dip kit, but am now regretting buying this product and wish I could return and get my money back.

First, the application process is a wreck. You get this bottle of brush softener, which you absolutely need because both the base coat and top coat are like super glue, and they will harden the brushes within seconds of being out of their respective bottles. Work quickly.
The top coat is so strong of super glue that it burned my eyes to work with it.
Then after all that trouble, they chipped in one day. And I'd question "oh well, what were you doing that they chipped?" The dishes. I was trying to wash a pot.
So, if you enjoy burning your sinuses, getting your skin super glued to the sides of your nail, and then not even having a manicure to last one day.. this is the product for you.

I am a nursing student so we can't have any nail polish, we have to have all natural nails! So this kit is amazing when we have a 2-3 weeks off from clinical because I can do my nails! And it's only a fraction of the price and look just as good if I went to the nail salon! Tip: get an electric nail file to make sure it's completely even and smooth on top after putting the activator on and before the base coat! Go get it before it's gone!

I got this kit because I got tired of the people at the salon making the same flaws over and over and I love it ! At least I know if there's any mistakes I can easily fix it myself at home and at a fraction of the cost that it would cost in the salon.

Dip "polish" takes practice. Read the instructions and know that you'll get better each time you do your nails. I watched videos online first. You'll need to do thin layers (shake off excess powder before you apply the next coat so it doesn't layer too thick). This kit did exactly what I hoped it would. I left it on for 13 days and only took it off because I was ready for a new color. I did apply fake tips first bc I have short nails. Next time I probably won't add the tips. I chose a light pink color first (almost clear) to practice with but my 7 year old daughter got purple. She's still going strong on day 13 too. Highly recommend this product if you're sick of paying the salon prices.

I like this kit! It took a little bit of a learning curve to get the hang of it, but I love it now. It lasts for a very long time!

this stuff is messy, super glue like, polish doesn't come out very smooth, and expensive
