Color payoff is determined by starting hair color + porosity of strands. The darker the hair, the more subtle the color depositing effect. Color Depositing Masks are not designed to cover grays, lift or lighten.
To start: Apply gloves and conduct a strand test first on dry hair to determine desired results. Apply color to one strand of dry hair, leaving on for 5 minutes. Rinse. If color is too sheer, conduct another strand test and leave it on for a longer period of time.
Pro Tips:
- For a sheer color effect: With gloves, apply to clean, wet hair and leave on for 1-5 minutes. Comb through for even distribution and best results. Rinse thoroughly.
- For an intense color effect: With gloves, apply to dry hair and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Comb through for even distribution and best results. Rinse thoroughly.

Disappointing color, but super soft hair!
I was selected by TopBox to receive the Color Depositing Mask in Peek-a-Blue for free in exchange for my honest review. The color description on the tube said it was a Steely Blue Gray. I love this product. I occasionally use it in-between hair appointments to refresh my look.
does nothing
very disapointed, used almost the whole bottle and noticed no difference. i have brown hair and wanted to darken it and cover grays so i got the pitch black color. didnt even dye the grays at least. my hair look the same. my hair didnt get dry as others said, but it was a tital waste of time and money. cant even return it because i used most of it. i like so many things from IGK but this was a huge let down.
If I could give this zero stars I would.
"Pitch black" is very misleading. The color was not black, more like a gray. When I tell you this product did absolutely nothing besides make my hair more shiny…Some of my hairs are even blonde, and they looked exactly the same after using this product. Absolutely horrible. Left my hair feeling dry. Don't waste your time or money.
Doesn't cover greys
Got the pitch black, i have pretty dark hair naturally except for some greys. It didnt cover the greys and i cant really tell if it did anything for the rest of my hair either. And i didnt like the scent.
So Disappointed
Ive used a few glosses and was recommended this one by an employee (no shade to them). I have A LOT of hair and basically used the entire bottle (attempted on dry hair as I desired a more pigmented outcome). My hair was completely coated, and I even let it sit longer than recommended. Not only is there no difference at all in my color but my hair also looked kinda dull and felt a bit dry. Kinda annoyed and disappointed. Since I used so much, I know I wont be able to get a reimbursement.

Will gray/silver hair pick up ANY color from mask? Or will it just deposit on any remaining darker/non-gray hair?
