Most Helpful Positive Review Non-irritating Makeup Remover Okay first off, this product isn't as bad as all the people complaining about missing the old one is. Yes, the older one worked better but this one is fine.
Least irritating makeup remover I have ever used. If i get it in my eyes it just makes my vision cloudy and does not sting. My eyes are pretty easily irritated. Removes most makeup on my eyes but I like to follow up with a makeup melt-off towel to get the last bits of mascara that may cling.
You have to massage onto dry skin THEN add water if u want most effective cleanse.
There are no added preservatives so once you start using it you should use it up or else it will expire and break out ur skin
Most Helpful Critical Review So gentle it doesn't do anything. I've tried using this product several different ways. First the way the directions say. Second getting it milky first, another time I tried leaving it on for 5 min then emulsifying. Still this stuff does absolutely nothing to get makeup or even the slightest of dirt off your face. Yeah afterwards it feels like a baby's bottom but the min you go to pay it dry it's like all the makeup you were trying to get off smears onto your nice white towels. All that dirt and oil from the day is planted like a mask right there staring back at you. What?! I have to use an actual makeup remover and two cotton balls worth of micellar water to actual get off the makeup that this oil should have removed. What a waste.

I love this cleanser! This takes off every last bit of makeup, even waterproof makeup, and it works great alone or as the first step in your cleansing routine.

Facial Cleansing Oil 4
BellaNJ from NJ
I really liked this product! I love how gentle it's on the face and how my face feels afterwards. As for the scent, I know several people indicated that they didn't like the scent, but this is one of the better smelling facial cleansing oils that I've tried. The others have a strong, weird, chemical smell. While this one is a slight nutty, fresh scent that you can withstand...much better than the other cleansing oils. Definitely a product that I will purchase again.
The best! 5

I don't understand the other reviews about this product. I personally do not prefer a double cleanse, I've tried several products they do not work for me. I stick to one cleanser, and this one is perfect because it takes off all my makeup and rinses off without any oil residue! Some might think it's not properly cleansing, but there is no makeup left behind and my skin doesn't break out or feel tight! This will be a constant purchase for me.
Annoyed the shea oil was discontinued but this is good too 5
MsMuffinz from Upstate NY
Like most reviewers, I was pretty butthurt when the shea cleansing oil was discontinued and approached this cleansing oil from a negative perspective. I was convinced I wouldn't like it or it wouldn't perform as well, especially because I had tried SO many cleansing oils and the shea was my favorite (Kose Softymo, Klairs Black Deep, Tata Harper, Avene Thermale, Claudalie, the list goes one). However, after giving it a try I was pretty surprised it performed, in my opinion, just as well .It removes my makeup wonderfully and is very gentle. I think it might not rinse off as cleanly as the sea oil did, but I have always double cleansed, so that doesn't really matter to me. So in conclusion, I have tried many, many Asian and European cleansing oils and while l'Occitane Shea cleansing oil WAS my favorite, I'm now on my fourth bottle of this product and hope its never discontinued.

Excellent for All Skin Types 5

This is an excellent cleaners for removing all make-up even waterproof while gently providing a barrier of moisture. I tend to have oily areas on and off so I use an exfoliant afterwards 1-2 times a week. This is also a great product to use with a device like Clarisonic facial brush! No only does it remove all make-up and debris but it infuses the skin with much needed moisture.

Absolute skin perfection! 5

This stuff saved my skin! I just went through a year of chemo and radiation and my skin is thin, dull, and tired looking. I bought this along with a few other things and wow! Just, wow. Light, delicate scent. Great texture. Love the bottle. Oil to milk when applying removed makeup effortlessly and I use it on my face neck and chest and my skin has never looked better. It's baby soft when I get out of the shower and my crepey skin looks plump and smooth and absolutely glowing! I will forever buy this product. I also tend to break out easily and this did not at all!

This product is great at breaking down complexion and lip makeup. However, a micellar water is needed to remove remaining eye product after using this. It does emulsify into a milky, watery substance like it states, but it leaves a little bit of a residue and can be a little messy to use. The scent is lovely and this leaves my akin feeling soft.
BEST Thing That Works For Me 5
MK from Birmingham, AL
I am so picky about the products I use. I started using this remover a couple years ago and have never switched to anything else. It's amazing on my skin and gets all of my makeup off very gently. I love the oily feel of it and it works quickly too. A little goes a long way. It smells great, feels great, and looks good too if you like to display your products like I do in my bathroom.

Might as well splash your face with perfume. I do not recommend this. Horrible. Please bring back the Shea butter cleansing oil.
Immortelle & Shea Cleansing Oils were much better ... 3
Sheila from San Francisco, CA
I used the Immortelle Cleansing Oil for years ... and periodically the Shea Cleansing Oil. For me, both were much better products than this one. This one is thicker and does not smell as nice as the other two. PLEASE bring back Immortelle Cleansing Oil! 2nd choice for me would be Shea Cleansing Oil. The Cleansing Oil-to-Milk Huile Oil is my least favorite of the three.
Please bring back the Immortelle Cleansing Oil 3

Nothing like the original. I had to switch to a different brand to get something that worked as well for me. PLEASE L'Occitane, bring back the Immortelle!
New beauty test tube introduced this cleansing oil to me. 5

Best cleanser I ever tried. Easily takes everything off and leaves my skin smooth and soft. I also love the smell of calendula and immortelle.. I am so happy that I subscribe to Test Tube and that I was introduced to this wonderful product.

bought this on a whim while in Atlanta airport several years ago. Have not gone without it since! I use waterproof mascara and plexaderm on my dark under eye circles I put the oil in my palm and rub it all over my face and neck. I don't add water until everything is coming off then I start rinsing off with water. I'm hoping I will be able to afford to buy this for the rest of my life!!!
Doesn't work 1
Mpk32 from Atlanta, GA
I got this as a 30ml sample and I'm glad I didn't purchase it. My normal makeup routine is mascara and eyebrow tint. On special occasions I will wear foundation. The description says it will even remove waterproof but all this did was leave my face looking like a raccoon. I do not even use waterproof mascara! I thought maybe I wasn't using enough but really put it to the test and applied and washed two more times one occasion and still didn't remove anything. My husband's bar of Dove soap took it right off.
Great (Had to rewrite to give to show my 5 stars) 5

Definitely recommend this product. Tonight, I tried it for the first time. I wore a brand of makeup (fenty) and I used this product as directed above. I performed the wash once. After rubbing the oil on my face, I did the same thing with water, then rinsed my face. I can then see the make-up showing on my face. I performed this routine a 2nd time and used cotton balls after my rinse. The cotton balls shown no makeup afterwards, which was great. My skin was soft and it was a quick sufficient routine to do. Before, I would use the tissue makeup removal and wipe my face. Although it partially worked, it didn't fully do the deal since I felt the makeup was just smeared around versus in a central location to remove like this oil. I definitely recommend.

Nice multifunctional product! 5

This is a lovely product that effectively removes make up (including eye make up), and cleanses as well. It's a quick one step that leaves my skin soft, completely clean, dewy and ready for serums/night creams!
Bring Back the Shea Cleansing Oil 2
Viv from Woodinville, WA
This doesn't work nearly as well as the Shea Butter Cleansing Oil. Also, the smell is overwhelming. I paid so much for this that I have to finish the bottle, but I will reconsider my loyalty to this brand if they continue to discontinue my favorite products for inferior ones like this one.
Skip this one.
Better for body than face 3
HumanBean from Chicago
I have dry skin and I generally love oil cleansers and creamy cleansers that moisturize. This one, however, leaves an unpleasantly greasy film that you can feel just sitting on your face. I had to use a different cleanser to completely wash this off because it felt so uncomfortable. I didn't want to waste it, though, so I'm using it on really dry parts of my body, like the backs of my arms and my feet, where the residue won't bother me. It actually makes a pretty good body cleanser for dry skin.

I have always used a drugstore brand facial cleanser until I received a sample of the Huile oil to milk. I am obsessed with the almond shower oil and lotion so I knew I would not be disappointed. And I WAS NOT. This cleanser has a light fragrance and does a wonderful job removing my makeup at the end of the day. My skin feels soft and I don't have that tight feeling after using a strong cleanser. Keep the samples coming. I would love to try all of your products.

Removes all my makeup, leaves skin smooth and soft, does not break me out... it's great! I used midnight oil before and loved it but this is a fourth of the price.
