Most Helpful Positive Review I'll buy it until I find something better I have a lot of hair. My hair is starting to turn gray. I'm 40 and white. My hair is a mix of wavy and straight, course and fine. I think that's due to aging. I also have my hair highlighted, so it has a little damage and can be a bit dry on the ends and occasionally frizzy. This is one of the better cowash products I've tried, and I've tried several. It has a pleasant smell. It does have a very slight lather when you add water which helps me to really scrub my scalp. I use a wet comb after scrubbing to detangle and make sure my ends are coated, and I leave it in while I finish the rest of my shower then I rinse it really well, especially from my scalp. It leaves my hair detangled and pretty soft. I wash my hair with it about every other day, and my scalp doesn't get too greasy until the 3rd day, which is okay with me. The first week of use after a shampoo, my hair is bouncy and shiny. My biggest issues with it are that after about a week and a half to 2 weeks, my hair feels heavy and weighed down, my scalp begins to feel a little dirty even after using this product, and my hair starts to look a little frizzy and dry. I'm not sure what causes this. I don't use a lot of product, I air dry my hair most of the time. I've resolved this so far by washing with a clarifying shampoo and then doing a deep condition, and then using this product for about 2 weeks and repeating the cycle. I'd like to be able to find a cowash I could switch completely over to without having to wash my hair with regular shampoo. With this product, I have seen improvements. I have new growth coming in which is good, and also less damage and split ends and less shedding. It has a good consistency, it's one of the easiest cowashes to use that I've tried and I can use less of it than I use with other similar products. It's not perfect, but it's really good and not overly expensive. I will keep using it until I find something better.
Most Helpful Critical Review hate it. it's awful. I usually use Curlsmith, but was trying to find something cheaper. my hair is all over the place. I'm white, and have really long, mostly white/gray hair. it's really thick, but fine and mostly wavy/curly, except where it's straight, and tends to frizz if I use regular shampoo and conditioner. First, I want to say this stuff stinks. it smells like bathroom cleaner mixed with old lady perfume. it's really thick, and left my hair feeling heavy and greasy. As much of a pain as Curlsmith is to get out of the bottle, I will suck it up and go back to playing the higher price.

I have struggled with dry scalp for years and have tried so many different types of shampoos and conditioners. Since using this along with the scalp shampoo my scalp has improved so much! The product doesn't lather very much but that's not a red flag for me. I have definitely ended my time wasting money on products that don't ever work.
uggh the smell.. 3

I couldn't even try the product it smelled so bad. It has a really strong fake rose smell that was nauseating upon opening. I had to return it. there's no way I could stand that on my head all day. yuck.
pairs great with the Cleansing conditioner 5

So happy I bought this!!! 5

I purchased this for my daughter that suffers from dry scalp. She has extremely thick, full curly hair and has a hard time rinsing it thoroughly. This condition has left her hair soft, fluffy, without frizz and most importantly, moisturized. Leaves the hair glowing and doesn't strip away the natural oils.
In love with my new hair duo 5

I really love this conditioner it's really great and pairs so well with the matching shampoo leaves my hair feeling lightweight and very clean also smells great and lingers all day long. It leaves my hair feeling so smooth and lightweight. Would definitely buy again pretty sure this is my new go to hair duo, already recommended it to a friend!

I've tried every co-wash and cleansing conditioner under the sun. this one finally delivers. it doesn't lather, which is great. it's not supposed to. tamed frizz, my scalp felt comfortable. this stuff is fabulous.

My hair is mostly 2B/2C, fine strands, low porosity (protein sensitive)
TLDR: for my hair this is the perfect balance of cleansing and moisturizing!
This is my first time using a cowash that doesn't weigh down my hair or dry it out. My old cowash was more expensive for the same amount and I still needed a conditioner after. Its so nice to be able to save money both on this product and because I can use less conditioner. It also works well for detangling. And on days I do a hair mask or feel like i have some product build up I leave it in a little longer or just use it twice and my hair feels great! I am not a huge fan of the smell, but since it isn't added fake fragrance it doesn't really stay anyway. at least not in my hair. My partner has high porosity hair so when they use it the scent does last a little longer. Definitely recommend :)
So far I love it 5

I've used so many different cleansing conditioners, from so many brands and this has to be one of the best. It's easy to use and a little goes a long way. It leaves my hair feeling super moisturized and soft. I only use it in between washes and I wash my hair twice a week, sometimes more sometimes less depending on the occasion. My Curly hair texture is 3A for reference. Only con is the smell but it doesn't linger through out the day, especially when you put other products on top. Big bonus is this product being organic and not damaging to your scalp or hair. Will keep repurchasing.
Happy customer with happy hair 5

I've been using cowashes for about 8 years, my hair is very dense with mixed textures: mostly straight with some parts wavy and other very curly. I was originally hesitant about buying this because of the price and because even low-lather can be too stripping for my coarse textured/high porosity hair. I wash my hair about 2-3 times a week but I'm on my 2nd bottle and now don't need to wash it more than 1-2 times a week. My hair is now very soft and I have a lot less split ends, which makes me very happy because it allows me to grow my hair longer than ever. I know that hair care companies tend to abandon their cowash products fast so I really hope they keep this one around.

Could hardly get past the smell-kind of like a bad mix of strong essential oils-but still planned to finish the bottle. Used the the morning after a campfire-and my hair still smelled of campfire after getting out of the shower (and I probably use more product than suggested). Into the trash it went.

Couldn't get past the overwhelming plant smell and I don't have a sensitive sense of smell!

I hate the way pura d'or made my hair feel. I noticed after the first use that my hair was mated and dry after use. I used it a few more times and the problem got worse. My hair was damaged and some breakage occurred. I threw over half the bottle away. Obviously I won't be purchasing this again. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I've been washing with this shampoo for the past 3 years and my hair looks healthy. I highly recommended!
Smells amazing!!
Worked well with dry scalp, but too STRONG of a smell... 2

This actually worked nicely with controlling my dry scalp, but the smell is so strong it triggered my asthma.. I think it was the Geranium Oil? I ended up throwing this out. I would not recommend based on the strong floral odor, otherwise it would be a nice cleansing conditioner.
Best cowash for caucasian hair! 5
Kathleenjo from Saint Paul
I have long fine hair that I color maroon, so needles to say I don't use a lathering shampoo. I've tried every cowash imaginable and this one is the best you can find. I used to use the biolage cleansing conditioner until they discontinue it. The only "con" is it doesn't smell the best. It smells like plain oatmeal.
The Best 5

Love this! With long hair, I don't have time in the morning to use both shampoo and conditioner so I need a good cleansing conditioner and this is it. I've tried a few others but they're more expensive and you have to use A LOT to get them to work properly. Originally, I used Hair Food Cleansing Conditioner which you could buy at Target but they discontinued it. I was upset at first until I realized that company did me a favor because I then found this cleansing conditioner which is MUCH better. I wish it was available in the stores but I will happily keep ordering it online.
No Comparison to WEN 5

This is truly the best Cleansing Conditioner ever. I find not only is it soft and gentle and makes your hair shine, it also allows new growth. That is so exciting for me. I was starting to recede, my stylist just foiled my hair, she noticed my regrow and she didn't foil it in, but she was surprised when I told her what was happening. To be honest, I didn't know I could get it from Ulta, from now on, I will order online, so I can add up some points. I love this so much. My hair shines, I can't imagine anyone would return this product.
Best cleansing conditioner 5

I have tried every cleansing conditioner out there and this is the best its more creamy than others low lather and makes your hair soft and silky
Best cleasing conditioner I've tried 5

I tried a more expensive cowash and while it was good, it was expensive. This is even better and it costs less. Truly both cleansing and conditioning.
Decent Cleansing Conditioner 4
Desert Dweller from Phoenix, AZ
My hair is very fine and I live in a dry climate. I struggle with oily roots but dry static prone hair otherwise. This product at least kept all the static at bay, even in the driest months, but it's a tad too heavy for me. I think this is a good cleansing conditioner if you wash your hair every day. I prefer to wash every 2-3 days, but on the second day my roots were too greasy with this product, if used alone. After a few months I started mixing it with another brand of cleansing conditioner and had much better overall results, back to going 2-3 days between washes without being too greasy at the roots. Still on the hunt for the perfect co-wash.
Great conditioner 5

I really like this conditioner. Detangles well. Leaves my hair smooth and soft. Definitely Will purchase again.
