Most Helpful Positive Review BEST FLAT IRON EVER!
I've had this flat iron for 6 years going on 7 and it still gives me the most sleek shiny and straight hair ever! Mine didn't come with a case but you can buy them for cheap. I like how the flat iron has an automatic sensor that shuts it off when not in use. My problem with past straighteners is that they snag my hair and sometimes give my hair a bad smell. I recall using my friends chi straightener and was not impressed at all. I had to straighten my hair multiple times just to get the smooth sleek effect I was going for. Til this day I've never found a flat iron better than my ghd classic. I have friends who use my ghd flat iron and tell me how amazing it is and ask where I got it. I know it's a bit pricey but totally worth every penny. You really do get what you pay for!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Very disappointed :(
I've been using Chi for a decade and recently decided I was one with them because they don't last like they used to. I decided to spend extra and get a GHD hoping it would last at least a few years. Boy was I disappointed when I saw how it worked. The first time I used it I noticed I had to go over my hair more, but the worst part was after leaving for work my hair immediately turned into a puffy, frizzy mess. I decided to try it again a few days later because it was damp outside the first day (I live in FL) and was again let down. I spent 30 minutes straightening my naturally curly/wavy hair and it was ruined within an hour, as if I had used a cheap store bought flat iron. If this is how my hair will look in January, I can't even imagine how it'll look in June! I just returned it for a refund. Both of the associates at the counter were shocked and said that they both own a GHD and love it. I asked how long they've had them and they both said over 4 years. I read online that GHD used to be great, but the quality has gone down and now I know it must be true. The associates even said that the price dropped by about 50 dollars since they bought theirs, so I'm sure GHD is skimping on quality just like Chi ended up doing in the last few years. I'm hoping a new company will make a quality flat iron that is actually worth spending a couple hundred dollars on!

I decided to splurge and buy a high end flat iron. It doesn't work any better than the drug store flat irons I have used in the past. I have had it about 4 months and the plates are warped. No temperature control. Close to useless.

I have used a Remington drug store straightener for years. It was on it's way out so I thought I would treat myself to a more "high end" straightener. I was disappointed after the first use. For it not having any heat control, it doesn't get nearly hot enough to work on my curly hair with extensions. I wish I would've taken it back right away.
I would not buy this product again
Sara from Mi
The his product doesn't compare to the straighter I had previously. It doesn't get hot enough so I don't get desired results. No way to adjust the heat.
Not recommended for fine hair

I've never had a worse flat iron. I've never had a flat iron without an adjustable temperature and didn't realize this one wasn't. It has burnt my hair so bad, even heat protection spray barely helps. Wish I could return, I've had it less than a year.
I love this product and would definitely recommend!!

If you're hair is thick curly and dry this works great on my hair
Mediocre at best
Liz from Ohio
I have naturally coarse/thick/wavy hair, and usually straighten it for easy upkeep throughout the week. I did the research and wanted to switch to GHD- but this flat iron is just okay (at best). My hair is no smoother than it was with my 5 year-old flat iron did, and it pulls on my hair in most places.

I purchased this in October of 2018. It is the first time I invested money in a decent flat iron and was excited at the purchase. The Pros are that it heats up fast, has a long cord, can be used when traveling overseas. The Cons (there are multiple and the list is growing) is that died, with no warning, last week. They come with a 2 year warranty. Mine died at 2 years, 4 months. Do the math on how much that is per year to have this flat iron. I was never hard on it and I have fine thin hair so it was used MAYBE 5-7 minutes a day. I have been trying for a week to contact someone at GHD about this with no response. No one has responded to my emails and no one answers their help desk. I can't even get information on if it can be repaired. SO. If you are willing to spend the money on a hair straightener, I would point you in another direction, if only to save yourself some money and time. AND yes, my 10 year old inexpensive Revlon flat iron turned on with no problem when I had to reach to the back of the cabinet to use it when this one died.

I have had two of these straighteners now. My first one lasted for maybe two years. The second one not even a year, it died out of no where while I was using it. It's a lot of money to spend on something that can't even last a few years. I would not recommend this product at all.
Still figuring out how to use, but LOVE IT

I have done beachy waves as well as straightened hair with this styler/straightener. I love it! It is just the right temp and and it is very smooth and does not pull too much on my hair.

I have been using this product for over seven years and it is still going strong! I straighten my hair almost everyday and my fine hair has definitely kept up better compared to other straighteners that I used previously. I also love how little effort it takes to straighten my curly hair. Again I've used other straighteners before where I would have to go over the same area a few times to get that area as straight as I wanted it to be. I also love how easy it is to style and curl my hair with this straightener. I hardly ever use a curling iron and just use this when I really want to style my hair. I'm definitely in love with this straightener. I highly recommend it and think the bad reviews are just a "fluke" because I've had no problems with this straightener in seven years.
Do not recommend
Estefania from Tampa, FL
My hair is naturally pretty straight, and even then, this straightener was just it. First of all, the gold plates do not touch flat. Already a huge inconvenience to straighten hair. They only touched at the very top of the iron.
This also did not make my hair sleek straight and soft as I was expecting. I remember using a friend's classic GHD about 10 years bag which I loved, but this one did not perform like that.
Also, the straightener pulled and tugged on my hair, which actually hurt and pulled out strands of hair.
Nevertheless, I ended up returning it and exchanging it for a Baby bliss, and wow, HUGE difference. My long thick hair is straight, soft, and shiny, every time! Wished the GHD worked like that.

I bought this over 10 years ago and it's still working exactly how it did then. I have been using it for most of those 10 years using an Australia to US adapter too. It takes barely any time to heat up, turns itself off if you forget to and I have never ever had hair pulling or heat damage from this. Best money I've ever spent, whenever the day comes that I need a new one I know I'll buy this again.
Not worth buying
Harshadap from Seattle
Disappointed with my purchase. I have fine wavy hair and literally felt that my hair were burning while using it. Not at all worth the price.

product leaves creases in your hair and when you hold tip to close it moves, over time will eventually brake or not close right. Does hold curl for long period of time.
Jamiek from MI
I read reviews and based on other recommendations, I decided to purchase. I am not impressed. It does smooth my hair but it doesn't straighten my hair at all. I find myself having to go over and over with it which just kills my hair. It also doesn't have a heat setting that can be changed which I do not like at all.
Lala from Oxnard, California
Its a good product worth the price
Kms from San Ramon
This flat iron is so cheaply made and is awful. It sticks to your hair not allowing it to glide smoothly. The plates don't touch when you close it. It has no temp setting so it heats to one temp that is not hot enough to straighten in one pass so you have to go over your hair repeatedly.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!
MC from Yuba City, CA
Absolutely love it!! Wouldn't buy a different brand. Heats fast & leaves hair feeling sleek without any sleeking products. My old flat iron was a GHD & lasted me several years! So worth every penny!!
Returned Product. Expensive and not good
CE from Lemoore ca
Did not care for this straigtener. The Professional works better. Light kept blinking so I couldn't tell if it was ready to use. Did not make my hair sleek and shiny
No more snagged hair!
Cassie L. from Chesapeake, VA
This iron just glides thru my hair. I never have the issues I previously had where my hair would get snagged and pulled when I was straightening it. Worth every penny!

I originally bought this flat iron on the GHD site and now that Ulta sells it I'm thinking about getting another one. I can't believe I'm still using the same flat iron since 2009. My only issue is that it's starting to smell like it's time to go ahead and get a new one even though mine still works like a champ. I'm still getting the same results with shiny smooth soft hair. My friends always ask to borrow it and some have even bought one themselves. Great quality and long lasting results with GHD classic.
LOVE this flat iron!
Shayka from Illinois
This is my second GHD Iron. The first I had for 5+ years & it was used every day in a salon. Eventually it stopped working, however I felt I got great use out of it. I recently purchased this GHD iron and love it just as much.

I bought this hair straightener 13 years ago and it still works perfectly. Great investment.

I have had this flat iron for about 15 years now, and have never had a problem. By far the best I've ever tried, and I've used multiple flat irons that others have had. Nothing compares to this one! I have never had a problem, and have used it at least 4 days a week to straighten or curl my thick wavy hair! Truly the best!
Great for curly hair
KML from Charlotte
I bought this straightener 5 months ago after my chi of 7 years died on me. I have naturally really curly hair and wear my hair straight most of the time since I only wash my hair once a week. It straightens my hair quickly and eliminates frizz. This straightener may be pricey, but it's pricey for a reason!
