Most Helpful Positive Review Super hydrating! I managed to snag this last fall while it was sitting in the clearance area (which I was happy about, because the full price was daunting). I decided to use this as my nightly moisturizer instead of using my Cerave night cream, which I've been using for years. The first day, I was a little surprised by how thick this was. It has the lightest scent, and a little goes a long way. The next morning, I was shocked at how plump my face looked. Plus, my face felt so refreshed! I've got dry skin that only gets worse in the winter, so this has been a godsent during this winter. I also got used to the thickness of the cream & actually looked forward to putting it on because I knew my skin would thank me. I'm not sure how much I'll want to use this cream during summer nights, simply because of how thick it is (I feel like sweating it off in the event my AC breaks would be horrifying) but I love using it now.
Most Helpful Critical Review Was mine bad or do people actually like this stuff? I got this as a free sample and am not impressed. I've read through some other reviews to see if my jar was bad and I honestly can't tell if it's just mine or if the positive reviewers just don't care. 1.) The amount of "cream" inside the jar was miniscule and did not warrant the amount of plastic it uses. The packaging is misleading and a total waste. 2.) It's not a cream. The texture is like putty! I can't easily swipe up any product and basically have to pinch it out. Rubbing it on my knuckles and hands (no way I'd put this stuff on my face) it feels like dry vaseline and the product pills up if you try too hard to rub it in. You have to just let it sit. 3.) It absorbed (? maybe it just dried out) on my skin pretty quickly and didn't leave it feeling tight but it also doesn't feel moisturized.

Very moisturizing! Thick and rich and luxurious!! Wonderful for dry skin.
Took the redness away! 5
Porter from Virginia Beach
I have super sensitive skin and redness on my cheeks. I tried this cream at night and in the morning al the redness was gone! It is a thick, hydrating cream so I would recommend for night or during the day make-up free an hour prior to foundation application. Others have mentioned a light fragrance but I haven't detected any smells, and my skin usually acts up immediately to it. I'm really happy I found this product and looking forward to this entire line and a happy face!
Very moisturizing 5
Mae from Los Angeles, CA
I use the products morning and night and spf on top when I go out in the mornings. My skin is super sensitive and dry so I'm very picky on what I use on my skin. I had the same of this moisturizer and I fell in love instantly. After my current moisturizer was finished, I decided to buy this one and I love this one way more. It keeps my skin so moisturizer all day long and is such a soft texture. I'm hooked!
love this product! 4
wendy from arizona
it's super great for dry skin! i love the texture, it melts into the skin and leaves a lovely natural glow! only negative thing i have to say is about the packaging; it's way too much for the amount of product (which by itself, is amazing!!), but it's too much plastic for my liking :c
Love This! 5
Bernie MKE from Wisconsin
I have very oily skin so it's hard to find a night time moisturizer that offers extra moisture without making my skin feel greasy. This one does it! It is very thick, but just melts into my skin and feels so wonderful. But no greasy feeling! I only use at night, but LOVE it!
FOR DRY SKIN! 5
spgonzalez from Los Angeles, CA.
This moisturizer is excellent for dry skin. It says on the product description that its intended for dryer skin types. In my case, I have chronically dry skin, very few moisturizers actually work for me. As you can imagine, this moisturizer is not light-weight, it's heavy and thick which is adequate for dry skin. This lotion is marketed for dry skin which it is very effective for. I will purchase the full-size after trying it.
Extremely greasy 2
Rima from Texas
I got a sample of this stuff and ran out of my regular moisturizer so decided to give it a try. It started out fine with maybe only a little grease and pilling but throughout the day I noticed that my face would get super greasy. I have combination skin and am used to getting a little greasy as the day wears on but this added to it so much, it was gross.
I hate that it also doesn't have spf in it.
I would never buy this stuff and don't even think I will finish the sample cuz of how horrible it is.
Chia seed moisturizer 3
Dodie from Kenosha, Wi.
I received a travel size and it was actually great moisturizer for my dry skin. Unfortunately only 3stars when I checked ingredients I saw alcohol.
It doesn't belong in any skincare product. Eventuality, your skin will get dry very dry.
Best moisturizer I've used 5
Best! from Midlothian VA
I got this sample for a birthday present and I won't go back to using anything else. I've read some here and there bad reviews, but honestly, you can't really deem how this will work for you based off of other people's experiences and comments. This worked wonders for me. I use it every morning. I love it, and it smells phenomenal. I just ordered another container of it and I'll have it in a few days and can't wait.
If you're willing to try something new, I would try this. Also, I have extremely sensitive skin and i was very afraid of how my skin would react to this. Sometimes if something is too potent or fragrant, it can make me break out in hives around my jaw area. No issues with sensitivity either. Been using for 2 weeks and I see a huge difference in glow for my skin.
More paste-like texture? 3
Naturalann from Ohio
Ok just like the reviewer before me I came here to see if I got a bad sample. It is way thicker than cream, I'd say a paste or wax consistency maybe? It's SO thick. I sniffed it, and it smells ok, so I'm thinking maybe it's not bad, maybe it's supposed to be like this? Idk it's way too thick for me. I emulsified some on my fingertips and used some on dry spots on my face and it does seem to really moisturize. The texture is just an unpleasant experience for me personally.

Magical Moisturizer 5
Rebecca W from New York, NY
I love this moisturizer so much! I had received a sample and, I've never said this about a moisturizer before, but I think it might be magical. As soon as I started using it I noticed that my skin was clearing up. It makes my skin so smooth and soft and somehow has helped get rid of blemishes. I just ordered a full size one because now I'm hooked!
Not Too Shabby…. 4
Karla from Charlotte, NC
I got a free sample as part of my HUM subscription and it's not bad! I was leery to try it because I'm super acne prone but I haven't had any breakouts with this. It IS a very thick cream so I have to warm it up with my fingers to make it more spreadable. I haven't had the issue of pilling that other users describe. I press it gently into my skin with small upward strokes rather than rubbing, as I do all my creams, so maybe that's why? I only use a small pea sized amount which seems to absorb well into my skin without tackiness or a waxy feeling. If I weren't so in love with the Tatcha line and their Dewy Skin Cream, I'd probably buy this but it's really nice as a sample!
Would not recommend 1
HealthySkinFanatic from Monticello, MN
When I first put it on it was really thick and had the residue of vaseline. The more I rubbed it in my skin, the more it started to "curdle" or come off. As I was rubbing it in, it start to irritate my skin. I immediately washed it off.
Best face cream 5
A from Canada
By far the best face cream I have ever used. It's so moisturizing and rich yet not at all greasy. My skin is on the dryer side and constantly looks supple when using this cream.
Good Moisture 4
anonymous from Undisclosed
My skin craves moisture and this product does a good job providing it. I like the creamy texture.
My favorite moisturizer 5
Skippy from Dallas Texas
At first I was skeptical of this product and was scared about spending so much, but this product quickly showed its beauty!! It's super moisturizing and helps my face feel amazing. You don't have to use a ton of the product so it lasts a long time. It is a heavier cream so it's good for after exfoliating or if you have dry skin
Not a fan; SENSITIVE SKIN BEWARE 1
Steph from NYC
Got this as a part of a free gift. The packaging is definitely misleading as it wasn't even full. I would mistake it for used as well but couldn't even be sure if it was just poor packaging. I wouldn't buy this. Once I felt the texture, it is too waxy. The test spot I tried it on immediately turned red and burned a bit. Sensitive skin beware
Greasy thick pilling 1
Olivia from New York
I got a sample of this and was so confused by the texture because i thought it was a face cream but its a thick hard waxy mess. I have been trying to use it up by using it as a hand cream but its even too greasy for that and it just pills and pills even though my hands are clean. I would not recommend putting this on your face.
Miracle cream? 5
Jessi from Indiana
I got a small .5oz sample and will be buying mire ASAP! i put this on my crusty knuckles, elbows & heels & within 2 days all area were "healed" asnd super soft. This stuff is magic.
It pills up on face 2
Kenzy from Northern Wisconsin
I got a sample of this with my most recent Ulta order. It does have a nice, creamy consistency and seems to hydrate. However, every time I apply it, it pills and clumps up on my face. The first time using, I applied after the rest of my skincare, so I thought maybe it just didn't like my other products. I then applied again immediately after washing my face, no other products, and had the same results.
I'll use the rest of the sample because like I said, it does seem to be nourishing (when you can get it to stay on) but I will only be using at night before bed when the pilling won't be an issue. I don't recommend using in the mornings or if you have anywhere to be.
Waxy and smells bad 1
Amanda from Richmond, VA
I was sent a sample of this product but was still shocked at how little moisturizer I received. At first the only problem I had was with the smell. It's very earthy and smells like seeds (obviously), but I was able to overlook it. It went on pretty smooth (a little goes a long way), but the more I rubbed it in the more it collected in little bits on my face and rubbed off on my hand. I had to rewatch my face to get it all off and afterwards my skin felt tingly. Not using again.
Hard and waxy 1
Jenn from NJ
I was sent a deluxe sample of this product. Based on the other reviews I can only assume my sample was very old and dried out. It was not a cream, but a thick waxy "layer" taking up the lower 1/4 of the container. If that is the product - it's greasy and smells odd. If the product was just old, then this review does not describe the fresh product. I wouldn't know.
I'm liking it! 4
Mango from Chicago
I've only been using this for about a week so I will update my review. This cream is rich. A little goes a LONG way. My skin feels amazing soft and moisturized. My make up went on beautiful over this product. So far really liking it!
Not my cup of tea 2
Loxi from Pacific Northwest
I'd like to start by saying the packaging for this is misleading and wasteful. There is so much extra plastic being used to make it bulky, especially compared to their Tsubaki Swirl formula I had before this. The container is nearly twice the size but holds less product!
As for the product itself, I'm disappointed. I liked the Boscia Tsubaki Swirl, but wanted more hydration so I thought this would be a good fit. However, this chia seed cream leaves my face feeling tacky, almost waxy. It's like it doesn't soak in, which makes me curious to how much hydration my skin is actually getting from this product. I am sure it is locking moisture in or something, but it's not what I was hoping for.
Aside from that, a little goes a long way with this cream. It is bound to last a while. I've also had no problem with break outs so far on semi-sensitive skin. So those are the plus sides. I will continue to use this product since it was nearly $40, but I do still wish I had purchased something else.
