Most Helpful Positive Review Side by side comparison with old Chi I did a side by side comparison using my old ceramic gold-plated Chi straightener on one side of my head and this platinum one turned to three highest temp on the other side. I noticed this new platinum one looked more natural and my hair still had movement. This new one also is way faster to heat up, which is great for someone who has little time to do my hair. It left me with a smoother texture than the old one, which made my hair straight but looked drier and more mashed together. I went to bed and woke up and found the results were even more pronounced: the side done with the old Chi was frizzier and harder to brush through and didn't keep the straightness while the side did with this new one was easy to brush through and had more its straightening. I prefer the low key black matte color of my old Chi but got this red one as a gift. I'm getting rid of my old one and will go back to straightening more often as I liked the results.
Most Helpful Critical Review Awful This is th worst flat iron I've ever used. I have fine, wavy, high density hair. I can and do use the lowest setting and get frizz free, stick straight results with any other iron, even super cheap ones. This one snags like crazy and takes multiples passes to achieve a smooth result, which defeats the purpose. I actually get smoother hair from using a blowout brush.
Additionally, it sucks for curling, the plates don't float so it basically crimps, leaving an oddly shaped curl that falls in minutes.
if you're going to drop $$ on a flat iron, don't make it this one. I've had it for a year now and I deeply regret it, wish I had returned the second I felt that snagging.

I have had quite a few chi hair straighteners and I must say I do love this one I like the plates on it and it gets hot enough for me! I first purchased the whole one and when I saw it in red I had to have it. It's beautiful and works beautifully.

I love this product. This takes care of all fly aways and leaves my hair pin straight. AND it heats up in seconds. I would literally buy this again and again and again.

I wish the company who makes the CHI would see this, it doesn't even get hot enough to even get a small strand straight!! YeRs ago the CHI was the beat flat iron on the market. Now it is just junk!!!!

Terrible purchase. 1

I have really tight curly hair and figured this straightener would work better than my old ones. Wrong! Really snags on my hair, takes a long time to straighten every strand making it last over an hr to straighten, mind I have short hair. Waste of money and worst straightener I've purchased.

Sticky plates 1

Plates wouldn't slide down hair smoothly. Never had a problem with ceramic straighteners before. Don't like the plates. Left creases.
Love how versatile it is and works great! 5

I have curly frizzy hair. I totally love how quickly it straightened my hair. It left it silky looking and straight.

The flat iron heats up really quickly but the titanium plates to my surprise don't make for a smooth pass for the hair, causing the hair to get snagged and ripped. I tried using it twice because I wanted to be sure I wasn't just being dumb with it, but I have super curly hair and I've been flat ironing my hair for years so I can affirmatively say this sucks. It's getting returned today.
works fine 4

I have incredibly thick hair which is coarse and hard to style. this flat iron works fine. glides smoothly through my hair. it's just not worth the price. I have used other flat irons that worked just as well for half the price.
