Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent product
I was not sure if I was going to like this. I bought it because I struggle with eyelid edema and I wanted a product to help soothe my tired puffy eyes in the morning. Not only is it soothing and relaxing, it actually helped with the swelling! I am very pleased. I recommend keeping it in the fridge as the package suggests. It feels better when it is cold.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not too happy
I'm not a fan of this product. I work 3rd shift, so eye cream is a must for me. After the first two days of using it, people kept coming up to me asking if I was tired because of how my eyes looked. Basically, it didn't work. It's a gel so it took a while for it to dry on my skin, which felt kind of gross. I will not be purchasing this product again

I wanted to like this so much as I tend to love Mario Badescu products. Maybe it's my fault for getting a gel instead of a cream. My skin doesn't absorb this product at all, and it leaves my under eyes looking shiny and wet. Pros: A little goes a long way. It doesn't irritate my skin.

I liked this product at first because it was refreshing under my eyes, but the more I continue to use it, I don't notice a difference in my under eye area. It also doesn't absorb at all and I use little to no product for my under eyes.
CAUTION: the new formula destroyed my skin
Jane from USA
I guess I can't edit reviews here but I reviewed this before saying the new formula is thin and ineffective. That review is under the name
Jane too. Well, at that point, I figured the dryness and increase in fine lines was just because my under eyes didn't have the moisturizing and plumping gel they're used to. But after 2 weeks I had to stop using it because I got milia, redness, rough texture, irritation in the whole area I'd been using it, and some of my fine lines turned into deep red wrinkles. I stopped using it while waiting for a new eye cream to ship and of course that made my under eye skin dry but even no eye cream was better than this. The irritation stayed but stopped progressing when I stopped using it. It felt like a chemical burn and I wasn't too sure about it but after looking up milia, I decided to try some of my glycolic acid products under the eye. For anyone who's dealing with this reaction, andalou naturals pumpkin glycolic mask used twice is the only thing that got the damaged skin to peel off and the milia to go away quickly. I'm still rehabilitating the skin with honey masks and a heavy eye cream. 0/10 do not recommend unless they go back to their old formula.
The formula changed for the worse
Jane from PNW
I've been using this at night for 5 years but the last one I purchased in September 2020 is thinner, watery, and while it's better than no eye cream at night, it doesn't seem to do much for my under eyes anymore. The old formula smoothed out my circles and fine lines and was moisturizing enough to keep my dry dry skin plump and soft for 24 hours. Not anymore. I'm so disappointed, this was one of my fav skincare products and now I'll have to find something else and i've had no luck finding anything as good as the old formula.
Love it. I have been buying it repeatedly.

I used this a while and it was okay... a good eye moisturizer, didn't look good under makeup. I would make up with super puffy eyes if I used at night so I used it occasionally on mornings when I was chilling around the house etc. WELL THEN, I started using more regularly and under my left eye I grew Milia (google it!) and I did some research and it is a side effect of low quality eye products. Over a year later and I still have them. Three bulbs under my eye. It's not too noticeable esp when I wear makeup except one is rather big.

I got a small sample size of this with a recent order and have been using it as an all over face moisturizer and it is so amazing. Gives me a subtle glow and makes my skin so soft and smooth without making my oily skin act up. It of course works well under my eyes too but I love using it on my whole face and it only takes a pea size

I don't have sensitive skin so this product caused no irritation what so ever, I've been using it for about a month now and here I am looking for something different! This eye cream has done absolutely nothing! I still see fine lines and dark circles with no signs of any change

It doesn't absorb into the skin at all. It just sits there as an extra layer and makes my skin around my eyes look shiny and oily.
do not buy this!!!

My go-to eye gel for nighttime. Refreshing.

Bought this a few weeks ago to see if it would help with the dark areas underneath my eyes... Nope. A little goes a looong way, so unless you want to look like you've been crying, use very, very little. Another thing that made me rate this only three stars is that it never seems to dry and always leaves a tacky feeling on the skin, which is less than desirable. The only thing good about it is when you put it in the fridge and let it chill before putting it on, which might make it feel good if you got a sunburn. After finishing the jar I won't be buying this again, but might try the cream version instead to see if it is any better.
Not for me
Holly from Cleveland OH
I tried this product just looking for something that wasn't too pricey but after a week or so I decided the gel formula wasn't for me. This formula specifically felt like it never fully absorbed into my skin and made it feel oily and wet under my eyes even after hours of application. I definitely am returning this product for something more absorbing lol
I like this product

Light, not greasy and does a wonderful job on fine lines!
Very Sticky and Tacky
TechieMom from ChiTown
Tried this for one week and could not stand it anymore. VERY sticky and tacky - even hours later or overnight. Undereyes appear wet making concealer application impossible. Can't speak towards the benefits because I couldn't make it that far.
Used for a week now

I am new to trying eye creams and i think this is a really great product to start with!

This stuff is awesome. I recommend it to everyone I know. I developed some pretty dark eye circles in college, and I was in search of a product that would actually fix the problem, as I'm not a huge makeup-wearer and I was tired of putting concealer on those areas every morning. I noticed an overnight difference the first time I used the product, and my under eyes have continued to brighten with regular nightly use. I would recommend only using the product at night time, as you're supposed to let the product sit on your skin rather than rub it in. You might look a bit shiny during the daytime. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone with dark under eye circles!

I use this product 5 days out of the week and only at night. I notice a difference in my bags after two uses.
it's a no from me

I'm a very tired teenager, & i often struggle with dark undereyes and stuff like that. i've never tried an eye cream before, & i always wanted to try one to see if it would help me. this eye cream is literally just a gel that sits on top of your skin. it doesn't dry down for hours, so your undereyes look very wet. obviously you can't wear it under makeup bc it's a gel. if i went out in public with it on, people would ask me if i was crying or stuff like that. & the product doesn't even work for me. at all. i just use it just to use it at this point, & i will not be buying again.
I tried to like this...
Callie from Anaheim, CA
I really wanted to like this because it was supposed to help with puffiness and dark circles. It's very sticky and doesn't completely dry, leaving my eyes feeling kind of heavy, like I just woke up almost. I could almost get over that but it wasn't doing anything for puffiness or dark circles. Then after using it for a few days in a row, it started to burn my eyes to the point that I would tear up when I applied it. And I applied it as directed (I didn't get it in my actual eye), so I'm not sure what the deal was. I rinsed it off and haven't used it since. I haven't had any burning and my eyes actually feel more refreshed not using this.

I bought this a couple weeks ago in store. It was recommended to me when I asked what would be good for puffiness. The associate didn't seem like she know what she was talking about and was just trying to make a sale. This product doesn't do anything. Will be sticking to Clinique for skin care.
Put in the fridge during hot months
Anonymoose from South Carolina
This is a very light gel and doesn't seem to do much for my under eyes at all. The only way I can keep it in my routine is keeping it in the fridge and using it under my makeup to wake up my eyes. It's okay for the hot months when I don't wear much makeup but there are several other eye creams and gels that I would pick over this one. Not impressed.
It's pretty good
Emiliana Rose from Maryland
For years, I have felt very insecure about my under eyes. I have deep set eyes and dark circles under my eyes, due to genetics. I asked an employee at my local Ulta about what product he thought would help, and he recommended the "Mario Badescu: Ceramide Eye Gel". He convinced me to give it a try. I didn't know what to expect because many eye creams that I used in the past didn't really have any effect, but I was pleasantly surprised to see my dark circles start to fade after using this eye gel. The tiniest bit of product under your eyes really does the job. I'm so shocked and happy seeing the results. My eyes look refreshed and I feel so much more confident now. Although when using this product you must make sure to use a very small amount because if you apply too much under your eye then it won't do anything. Extra info: I personally don't put it in the fridge and just store it at room temperature.
not great :-(

Ok first off, I have never ever left a review so pls know i am legit.
I got this in a sample and would use just a little at night under my eyes every so often. Every time I woke up with it, I'd get the puffiest eyes and swollen eyelids. Never realized it was from this product until I used it last night and it made my eyeballs inflamed and red. Just under my lower eyelid, just super red. Never had any eye problems before and it definitely is from this product.
Do not recommend just for that reason. I used it as directed and everything. Maybe I'm allergic to something in it but I would not risk it.
