Most Helpful Positive Review Love it! Would purchase AGAIN! So I've always had issues with primers not sticking to my skin & making my foundation look patchy on my nose. Before trying this primer, my go-to primer was Bobbi Brown's Primer + Mattifier, which is 10/10 but I wanted to venture out on primer (again lol).
So I live in South TX where the weather is humid hot. With this primer, my makeup looked so smooth and fresh and my makeup didn't look patchy!!! I got so many compliments. I have super oily skin/not acne prone. Even if I don't have blemish-prone skin, this has willowherb which helps in reducing acne/flare ups.
This was a good purchase, honestly. I normally don't rate or comment on purchases but this one was def worth.
The scent is pleasant and the product feels great on my skin! Feels somewhat cool and refreshing! I love that it is cruelty free and made WITHOUT silicon, parabens, and sulfates. I am a big lover of skin care and knowing what's in the products I am introducing to my skincare/makeup routines, so knowing this product has great ingredients makes me happy I purchased it!
Most Helpful Critical Review Horrible Breakouts. Makeup dries up I use the IT cosmetics cc cream and I never really needed a primer with it because it ha a pretty good grip. But since most influencers promote Tula I thought I'd give the primer a try when it was on sale. Big mistake. I have never had breakouts like this before. Painful under the skin acne that took over a week to clear up. I had heard some friend says Tula didn't work for them and now I know why. Aside from my face being completely wrecked the makeup didn't even stay put. I noticed after 5 hours of wear the foundation (that is set with urban decay all nighter powder and setting spray) had dissolved off my face. Without the primer I could get 8-10 hours of full face without a smudge.

Great primer! I usually use Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer. This is almost the same thing, maybe a little better. You also get much more in the jar.

This primer is amazing! I love that it gives my make-up a nice base without it feeling oily. I normally apply this primer after my moisturizer and before applying my foundation and it makes my foundation look smooth.

I never used a primer like this before. It leaves my skin smooth and my pores perfectly blurred. After letting it "soak" in for a few minutes, it gets just enough of a tacky feeling (IMO) that it helps my foundation last longer. Personally, I would highly recommend purchasing this with MAC's Fix+ spray. The pair together keeps my makeup lasting through sweat, blow dryers and way too many hairspray clouds.

I started Tula products by ordering the Essentials kit. I was so impressed I now have started adding many other products. The Smoothing Primer Gel goes on easily with no residue. It leaves my skin feeling cool and soft. It helps your foundation go on easily and reduces the amount of foundation used. I am very pleased with this product as well as all Tula Skincare products.

Overall it was a decent primer, but I just couldn't work with the texture. It would get clumpy and hard to work into my skin. I felt like I had to use a ton to get it all over my face. I also wasted a lot because it would roll up and fall off my face.

Okay so I now use tula for my whole skin routine starting with the milk cleanser and this is one of my favorite products from them (tied with their glow sunscreen) I first started using Tula's other primer (the blur one that they just made in different skin tones) and I liked that except the tint was too much for me. The primer gel was perfect. My make up actually sticks to it very well and I've noticed significant improvement in my dark spots, which I believe is because this product has SO MUCH vitamin C in it (great for healing). Sometimes I will use the blur primer first and put the primer gel on top because the blur primer has a more glowy look to it, but for everyday wear I only use the gel primer and I've never had an issue with make up staying. Plus the cooling feeling it gives you is so relaxing. Would give 10 stars if I could.

I loved the way this primer sat on my skin. It kept my makeup in place even when wearing a mask all day, but after about 2 weeks I had a weird allergic reaction. My under eyes and eyelids became extremely dry and swollen. I wanted to love it, but that reaction sadly turned me off it

I put this on after a lightweight moisturizing routine. It has a bit of a peppery smell, nothing unpleasant. It is very thick but once you rub it in your hands it softens up and applies very easily. It helps to prevent pilling, my foundation (the Fenty Eaze drop) usually is a little slippery when I only use my Mac prep and prime spray but this primer had my foundation gripping really well! It gave me a very skin-like finish as opposed to the greasy look I had before. The primer is not moisturizing but it's not drying either. If you're looking for something that will not clog your pores, help your foundation stick and give you a real skin-like finish, this is the one.
