Ready, set, bake! Essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder is a translucent mattifying powder ideal for concealer baking.
Rated 4.36 out of 5 stars
Don't let the price fool you, this stuff is BETTER than most high end priced stuff I own. It's the perfect power to set your concealer with under the eyes. I tend to crease under eyes, naturally have lines under the eyes too, and powders normally emphasize that. This powder sets my concealer so good. I recommend using a small brush to set it. My concealer doesn't crease and it stays put for a long time (8-10hrs)
I bought this product as a brightening powder underneath my eyes and it works fantastic for that specific purpose. I even use it on the highpoints of my face to bring more light and dimension back to my complexion and it is very bright but in a subtle way that blends in with the face nicely. I only give the product 3 stars because I think this is a poor product to bake with and it is poor at controlling oil (does not work well as a blotting powder either). But for brightening, I highly recommend!

Brightens under eye after concealer! Essence is also under rated!

Nothing special about this powder. It's not bad but it's not great either. Just eh.
NYC Beauty Junkie from New York, NY
it leaves powder residue on the skin so you have to be mindful of that. and it doesn't really brighten.

I would recommend for people who like very natural/non cakey look. It's a good product but it didn't give me the after look that I wanted, I kinda expected to look matte but forgot it's not like loose powder.

This powder definitely evened out my face and brightened my tone.

One of my favorite products! Now that I've tried it, I can't go without it! I use it to bake and it works perfectly! Love how bright and clean this powder is! Also so surprised with the longevity of it! Stays in place all day!!

What can I say- the compact always breaks on me before I can even get through half the product lol Great stuff though. Finely milled, soft and works great for setting foundation.

I used this for a while, I was trying to love it but I kept experiencing build up where I could not blend it away I was seeing flashback in photos because it wasn't blended well. I will have to try other techniques after reading reviews, it has been sitting aside for some time so hopefully I can fall in love !

I heard great things about this and I tried it out and love it! However, the powder did come in cracked and I was little bummed from that (reason for the 4 stars) but I will still use it!!

This was decent while it lasted. Broke into a loose powder in about a month. Wouldn't re-purchase as I need something that's going to last longer and won't get into everything inside my purse.

VERY powdery. Dropped the compact and a big chunk came out. The fallout is insane, but on the face, it's gorgeous. For the price, I can get past the fallout. Highly recommend, but not for those that are clumsy.

Better than any hourglass or ABH setting powder I've used

Set this on top of my huda loose powder to make my eyes extra bright and carve my contour, looks creaseless all day!!

This is a hidden gem of a powder at a great price! I find this works the same, if not better than my Laura Mercier, the new Maybelline FitMe, Airspun or Bare Minerals. Using with my newest find of Catrice foundation and havent experienced any breakouts whatsoever. Brown skin friendly. No flashback either! Its all talc or talc-based/derived anyway..so why am I paying more? Great job, Essence!

This was very easy to blend and fully covered my face.10/10 recommended.

I have very fair skin but this still brightens my eyes. Other banana powders have been too dark so they didn't work. While I do agree that this powder can be a bit powdery looking at first, after setting spray it's fine. Or try pressing a slightly damp makeup sponge over top to add back a little moisture. I've already gone through a whole pan of this and my only complaint is that the clasp closure for the lid and the hinge both broke about halfway through using it.

I wanted to like this so bad but it made my under-eyes dark, I have a bit dark under-eye circles which my concealer hides it but it seems that the powder made my bags look so dark!

This is great in the summer. But in the winter, I'm too pale for it to really do much. I wish they had better packaging, though. The lid came off in no time, plus a chunk broke out of the middle of it.
Jen from USA
It's a bit too powdery looking on my under eyes. I still like it and since I've made it a loose powder (packaging broke) it's been really great as an all over face powder
Josie from Texas
Bummed because I actually LOVE the product so much. It's my go-to for setting under my eyes. However, I've had two now and both have just cracked everywhere making a huge mess in my makeup bag. I'm going to put it in an empty loose setting powder case so I can still use it. Packaging could definitely use a revamp

UPDATE: I had originally not liked this for my under eyes which I still do not. However, I love this for over all setting as opposed to my under eyes. Like I had said before, its not brightening but I love it to set all my oilily areas that typically break apart my foundations because im So oily, but not with this powder!! SO GOOD!!
I really wanted to hope on this trend and be in love with this powder like I am seeing all over; but its not that great as everyone is making it out to be. It is super finely milled and very soft but it oxidizes under the eyes. I have been testing it out for the past few days with different concealers to make sure its not the concealers i am using but it is oxidizing with all my products. It looks good as a touch up powder or even around the nose for some setting but for what ever reason, under the eyes it not working out for me. I will keep it and use it up because I dont want to waste so maybe i will have more luck later..we shall see.

it's ok can look a little cakey. only use to under eyes don't set with it

I kind of regret buying this after reading some negative reviews. For me personally it's not that great because my nose tends to sweat a lot and I used this to set my foundation, but even with the very little amount of use it causes my nose to seriously sweat and ruins my makeup. I'd use it maybe for the rest of my face but not my T-Zone. Also I use a beauty blender with this because using a brush results in no product being lifted. Wouldn't really buy again

I love this product!!! This is the only powder I will use since trying it!!!
