Most Helpful Positive Review Good hold, a bit of a learning curve to use. Redken Brews Liquid Matte Paste is a good addition for my hair styling. It has a good hold, lasts all day, doesn't get dry or crispy. Is easy to 'touch up' throughout the day if your needs change. It does take some trial and error to figure out just how much to use to get the look you want. Accidentally use too much, and you essentially have to wait until you can wash it out to try again. Don't use enough, and it simply doesn't work right, but at least you can keep trying. I have fairly long hair, so it takes a good amount of product to get the results I want, but it's real easy to go overboard. It just takes some practice. The only downside for me is that it smells way too strongly. I prefer the scent of my hair products to be very subtle, and not be so strong as to overpower my cologne.
Most Helpful Critical Review Does what it says but not much else This product does what it says. It's a medium hold hair paste. But that's all I can really say about it.
My hair consistency is curly and frizzy, so I usually go for products that can not only keep my hair in place but can also change the consistency a bit; that way my hair looks less out of control. However, while this product does keep my hair up, it fails to do much else. It doesn't make it stand out or overall improve the style of my hair in any way. I doubt anyone who knows me would even be able to tell that I had anything in my hair at all. So while it does what it literally says it does, it doesn't do much else. For the price that you would most likely have to pay for this at a salon, I can't say that it'd be worth it- at least not for someone with my hair type. I've had better experiences with cheaper products.
Also, the paste smells like vapor rub and cologne. So, that's interesting.

Why did they change the packaging, it was 3.4 oz which you could put in your carryon now it is 5.0 oz which now you have to buy the travel size. Not happy with this

This product was easy to use and worked well in my hair. It didn't make my hair oily or feel rough. It was also easy to wash out later which is a huge plus.

I tried Redken Liquid Matte Paste, and I have really enjoyed using it. I've tried several different kinds of products for my hair, and this one is my favorite. It has a nice smell, and does not leave flakes in my hair or make it too hard or oily. I have to pull my hair back for work, and this helps to keep it in place. I recommend it.

I have been using another brands matte paste for years until trying this new Redken Liquid Matte Paste. The consistency is perfect and doesn't feel to thick or heavy. The hold is excellent both on the short sides and longer top. A great all day look and hold. I know am on my second container.

I used this product to hold my hair style together and I was impressed with the matte look along with the holding power without feeling stiff. I only have to use a small amount and the paste lasts all day. The best part is my hair doesn't get dried out or feel weighed down from this product like other pastes I have used in the past. I highly recommend.

My hare is very thick and it takes a lot of hold to style it. Redken Liquid Matte Paste gives me the hold I need without the stiffness that I had to endure with other products. It also has a great fragrance. This is now my new go to hair styling product.

Great "product" product... holds better than Crew, but way more expensive. Definitely worth the extra for extra hold on longer hair. I have less than an inch cut on top so I keep both options.

This Redken Liquid Matte Paste works excellent! It's easy to put on and take off as well. It has a night matte look as well. It does hold well all through the day. I like that it's a liquid and not a paste. It makes it easier to apply. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a long holding matte paste for their hair. You won't be disappointed.

Very easy to use, holds the hair in place very well and the smell is pleasant. The only negative is if you use too much, the aroma can be overpowering. Holds hair in place for many hours.

I've been using the Redken Brews liquid matte paste for about two weeks now and really like it. It remains workable while you get your hair set and then holds well all day. I've used other brands and often find my hair feels hard/crispy afterwards but the Redken Brews paste does not have that same issue when I've used it. Almost as important, it smells great too!

The Redken Liquid Matte Paste is not really matte at all. It stays sticky/tacky all day long from the moment I apply it until I wash my hair at the end of the day. I do not like my hair product staying wet/sticky/tacky for long periods of time. I tried using a hair dryer to see if it would dry at all and it didn't. It smells good and applies well but I can't use something that stay's tacky and sticky. If anything touches my hair there is a residue of tacky/sticky Matte Paste on it. Would not recommend.

I've normally used styling pastes to create my hairstyles and to achieve a good hold. After using this liquid matte paste I'm hooked. I've had nothing but good hair days since using. I like that you get the control of a paste in a liquid texture that spreads throughout the hair. This product has made styling and getting an all day hold so much easier. The liquid paste does have a strange texture but it does not leave the scalp itchy. My hair also has smelled great too. I will definitely be using this liquid paste by Redken Brews going forward and highly recommend to others.

This product has worked much better for me as compared to other liquid products. I have straight and thin hair, and I do not need to use a lot of this paste to get a style that will hold all day. I can not smell any type of scent from the product when it is in my hair. It works well when your hair is damp, not as well when your hair is completely dry. I would definitely buy this product again.

I love the Redken Liquid Matte Paste! The hold is incredible. It doesn't get sticky or flakey. I hate gels or pastes that leave that wet, flakey look and this doesn't. Lasts all day and night. Definitely recommend.

I have curly frizzy hair and have a hard time finding a product that will hold my hair in place all day.
This liquid matte paste does an amazing job and it only takes just a little bit. Once I get out of the shower I comb through my hair and it only takes a tiny piece size amount. I just rub it through my hair and it dries very quickly. What I really like about this paste is that it does not leave my hair feeling weighed down or dirty.
If you have hard to manage hair this paste is great. It smells very fresh and a little goes a long way, this one to tube will last you a long time.

This product offers a dry look. I'd prefer more hold since a lot of product is required to secure a hold. Only negative is the smell. It smells like your father's cheap 70s cologne. It's awful to be honest.

The smell is amazing. I'm super particular about the way the product holds. This keeps my hair spiked but nothing too crazy. It easily washes out. It lasts all day and makes it through a hard day at work (I'm an HVAC installer) or a night out.

Redken Liquid Matte Paste has worked wonders on keeping my hair looking fresh. It holds great and last the whole day. This was just a sample, but I will be buying more when it runs out. I had seen Redken Liquid Matte Paste at stores but never thought it would work as great as it does. I highly recommend this product. If you want something that will make your hair looking good for the whole day this is the stuff for you. It smells good too which is always an added benefit.
