Most Helpful Positive Review My Go To Makeup Remover Pads
I love these pads. I use them regularly. The formula is a bit different but it still removes my very tough waterproof mascara with minimal eye irritation. I have to make sure to wipe all of it off after use, but I just use a tissue without washing my face again. I use the pads after I wash my face. Or without washing if I am being really lazy. The work great and I will continue to purchase these.
Most Helpful Critical Review WORST MAKEUP REMOVER EVER! Bring back the original
I bought these a week ago as all the stores in my area were out of the original packaging. I assumed it was just the package that changed. I was so wrong. The material of the pad is now extremely rough and made it painful to remove my eye makeup with. The formula of the remover itself has also changed- it's extremely oily, and left a thick greasy coat on my eyes. I washed my face after and the next morning couldn't see out of my contact lenses because of leftover oil residue on my eyes. Do not purchase these. PLEASE Almay- bring back the original product. This replacement is a cruel joke for us contact lens wearers. And if you're wondering why sales may have dipped in the previous incarnation of the product, it's because you stopped adding as much of the liquid to the lads and the ones on top were usually dry.

I have been buying this product for at least 15-20 years. I cannot believe that they changed the pads and formula. Sadly I will have to find a different product
Stings my eyes
ReviewAlmay from Long Island
I thought I was buying the hypoallergenic makeup remover pads since the color scheme of the new bottle mimics the old version which was oil free. Tried the pads in this bottle and the oil residue was terrible along with the stinging it caused in my eyes. Wish they would bring the old version back. Won't be able to use these pads any longer.
Awful!! Inflamed my eye!
JL95301 from Buffalo NY
I came on here specifically looking for reviews to help determine whether the swelling and irritation I'm experiencing in and around my eye was caused by these pads (I just started using about 2 weeks ago). I agree with what everyone else is saying…they are rough and super greasy! I would not have ever described myself as having sensitive skin, but using this product made me feel like I did! In spite of being made specially to remove eye makeup, the product stung my eyes and the skin around them. I chose to keep using them when I should have just cut my losses and gone back to my trust Neutrogena ones. Now I'm dealing with swelling, discomfort and persistent watering of my right eye. Maybe it isn't from these pads, but those are the thing my skin has come in contact with that could possibly explain this sudden irritation.
In the garbage!
Ann Marie from LI NY
Used to be my go to make up remover. Not anymore! I'm very frugal, so for me to throw away a product says a lot. After using this new formula my eyes immediately burned. The skin around my eyes got so dry it looked like a bad sun burn and flaked for days afterwards. Plus my eyelids top and bottom got swollen. I had to take antihistamines for a few days. I looks like a boxer after loosing a fight. I looked like I aged 10 years instantly. I'd rather go to sleep with mascara on than use this product!
Do t waste your $!
My go-to for waterproof mascara for years!
Steph from Chicago
I use this for my waterproof mascara and it works. Yes this is oily, how else is it supposed to break down your makeup? The oiliness loosens all of my makeup then I rinse my face after with face wash. I hold the pads over my eyes for a few seconds then gently rub the waterproof mascara off and remove the rest of my face makeup. Also LOVE that it's biodegradable.
New formula is very oily. New pads are NOT soft!
Purchased from Southern California
Loved these before they changed them.
Really Rough And Scratchy
SMTT from undisclosed
I bought these, thinking a biodegradable pad was a great idea. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the pack, and I've had to stop using them. This pad is really scratchy, and has left the skin under my eyes red and irritated. It's truly like I have a bunch of tiny scratches there now. I do not recommend you try these. Avoid.

Oily and just awful! Hurts my eyes I do not recommend!

I will never buy again. The pads are rough on my face, done remove eye makeup and burn my eyes. Also leaves my face covered in oil.
I am purchasing for a gift.

I was told you are discontinuing Almay products at the end of 2021.
Liza33 from Minneapolis, MN
I have used the old version of these for years. The new version is awful. The new version burns my eyes and the pad is so rough it hurts. Bring back the old version. If I could give 0 stars I would.
No burns, but I don't love them.
Stylebaus from California
These make my vision blurry for awhile after. It doesn't feel great to use. The heavily oily/greasy residue it leaves behind grosses me out. I'm just going to use them for my heavily eye looks until they run out. They do work, it's just not a pleasant experience.
Please change them back
Alix from Maryland
I have very sensitive eyes and dry eye. These wipes were wonderful with the old formula. The new ones sting and I can't use them. I used the old formula for decades. Are used to manage the beauty department at a department store and I've tried many different high-end brands. The old waterproof and long wear wipes for the best.
Changes are worse, not better
Disappointed Customer from Canada
I agree with all of the other 1 star reviews. I thought that only the packaging had changed but the new pads are rough and make the sensitive skin under my eyes burn. This same skin as well as my eyelids are now dry and rough. I've used the original product for years and loved it! I too am begging Almay to bring it back…it was perfect!
Love this makeup remover . It even takes off hair wax .

Even takes off wax .
Horrible and nothing like the original!
Elyse from Blue bell
The original pads were great bc they took off the makeup well and were smooth and nice. These are tough and leave so much goop after you use it. Not sure why it changed, but it's a bad move.
Bring back the original formula
Jess123 from Philadelphia, PA
Like most people who have reviewed this product, I was a longtime user of Almay makeup remover pads and simply went to replenish my supply, thinking nothing of the new branding on the package. The new formula was so horrible that I immediately began researching other brands to replace this product. The pads are uncomfortable; however, I understand the impetus for biodegradable, so I think I could live with the sandpaper pads had the actual formula been the same. For a product that advertises itself as oil-free, it feels as if I've simply poured cooking oil on my face. I have to wash my face a second time just to remove the residue left behind. I'm extremely disappointed to see what's become of this product. I'm hopeful that Almay will redeem their reputation by returning the original formula to shelves.
Kittygirl from ATL
It feels like they didn't test this product at all. It burned my eyes IMMEDIATELY. I don't even have extremely sensitive skin.
New formula is terrible
Melody from Tinton Falls, NJ
I bought this remover for years but this new biodegradable formula has been irritating my eyes. It does not remove liquid eyeliner as well as it used to and it's drying out the sensitive skin around my eyes. I need to find something else!!
NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!

Bad horrible quality assurance ALMAY... unless you intentionally knew that the formula burns your eyes! Wow, I will stay away from all ALMAY products in the future. Even a 1-Star is to many!!!
AMS from Missouri
These are terrible. They make my eyes really blurry after I use them. I hate them.
Disguisting! Rough and very oily
AjaB from NC
Bought this last week since I ran out of my last container. Took me a while to find this, realizing the labeling had changed. Figured...OK no big deal, labeling/print changes sometimes but I'm sure it's the same thing...NOPE. I couldn't have been more wrong or disappointed in this. The new pad is extremely rough and it just smeared oil and my makeup around my eyes. It felt disgusting and didn't even do a good job. I had to wash my face after using it but can still feel the nasty oil residue. DO NOT buy this! This biodegradable pad looks and feels like sandpaper! Almay needs to bring back the old formula and I want a refund!!! You have just lost a 20 year customer!
New Formula Burns Eyes
Monica from San Antonio
I have used Almay non-oily eye makeup remover pads for over 20 years. They have now went to a biodegradable formula that burns my eyes. I understand the environment is important, althiugh, so is my eyesight. I will never use again.
WENT FROM THE BEST TO THE WORST -- STAY AWAY
Katie from Orange County
These were the best eye makeup remover pads ever. Then during the pandemic, the packaging changed and so did the quality of the pads (rough) and formulation (stinging, burning, difficult to remove). I'll never buy them again.
