Most Helpful Positive Review great product and price I'd been looking for an oil cleanser that wouldn't irritate my acne because I know that the usual lathery cleansers I use aren't great for oily/acne prone skin (although that was the only thing that would ever actually clean the oil off my skin), and other natural oils I used always left a nasty residue no matter how much I washed it off (making me break out more). The first time I used this I just rubbed it in and rinsed it off with water because I was in the shower and I HATED IT. I decided to give it another chance and instead of rinsing it I used a wet washcloth to gently wipe it off and it was so much better! It completely cleans my skin leaving it healthily shiny, SO SOFT, oil free, non-tight (like all my other cleansers), and my face isn't even red afterwards (I have very sensitive skin and even a makeup wipe turns it beet red for a bit). It hasn't irritated my acne at all and it hasn't really improved it either, but I wasn't expecting it to. Overall I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, it works well and it's a steal compared to my other $25-35 cleansers. I wish it didn't have a scent but that is very minimal in my opinion.
Most Helpful Critical Review Frustrating! Do you enjoy a stressful cleansing experience? Not a fan of removing your makeup? Always wondered how it would feel to leave a whole stick of butter sitting on your face? Need to see how good your second cleanser works? This cleansing oil is for you!
Doesn't remove makeup no matter how much you massage it or for how long, doesn't emulsify or rinse off. Smells great and leaves your face super soft (because it's oil, and it's not actually capable of rinsing away) but a week of that will break anybody out. I guess if you have the driest skin in the universe, don't wear makeup, and have always wanted to try leaving loads of oil that's now saturated with all the dirt/pollution/dead skin of the day on your face, then go for this cleansing oil! But if not, I'd skip it.
Not my first oil cleanser rodeo--there are dozens out there (even in drugstore brands) that emulsify and rinse off cleanly and y'know, actually take off makeup. If you're new to oil cleansers, pick a different one. This isn't representative of oil cleansers as a whole and if this was your only foray into the genre it might turn you off forever.
Returned it; bummer.

I wanted to love this, but it didn't really remove my makeup and it left a thick oil on my skin no matter how much I washed it off
Too heavy 2
Idaho from Idaho
I wanted to love this. It has a very nice light scent from the oils which I appreciate but it's so heavy. It also takes a lot of scrubbing to get the makeup off and took 2 rounds with my second cleanser to get all the oil off and indefinitely broke out after. I normally use Fourth Ray Beauty's BFD oil cleanser but Ulta has stopped carrying it. Going to just order it directly from them now.
Best moisturizing cleanser ever! 5

I put on my face while I shower then rinse off before I get out. My skin feels soft even the next morning. I tried this when v05 discontinued their oil shine and glow.
My go-to makeup remover 4
Kailee from LA
Removes all makeup with out burning my eyes or breaking my skin out.
Not even worth it 2
Britt from California
This leaves my skin so soft which I appreciate but it literally doesn't take off my makeup. Not worth it.
Doesn't feel like it rinses clean 3
Seequins from TX
Does the job but doesn't emulsify well and still feels like there's oil/residue after you rinse it off.
Doesn't remove makeup 2
SH from Chicago
This is the worst cleansing oil I've ever used. It did not remove any of my eye makeup. I gave it two stars because it does have a very mild, but pleasant scent.
Too thick 3
MUAcosmo from Wichita
This is an extremely thick cleansing oil. I also use Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse which is much thinner and easier to apply and remove makeup. I felt like this product just smears the makeup around on my face instead of dissolving it. It does remove makeup. It removes stubborn waterproof eye makeup but by the time your done your entire face is black from is smearing mascara all over. It's not as easy to remove this oil and others I've tried. For the price it's not bad.
Great price. Even better results. 5

I love the sweet smell of this cleansing oil. It's a light oil and applies easily and breaks down makeup completely. I apply this once, wipe my face with my face cloth, then reapply it again before going in with water to help lather this up and I rinse my face with water. I then follow up with a cleanser and the rest of my skincare routine. This product is a sleeper hit and well worth giving a try.
Best economically priced cleansing oil 5
KimberMoon from OK
My skin is at an age that I can use cleansing oils for my face without having to do a second cleanse, and it's difficult to find a good cleansing oil that removes all makeup, doesn't irritate my eyes, and rinses clean. A nice scent is an added plus. This is my replacement for my discontinued favorite, Garnier Cleansing Oil. I loved that stuff, it was the best and smelled amazing. However, this product is a decent replacement, I have repurchased it many times. It doesn't smell as good as the Garnier, but it really removes all my makeup and doesn't irritate my eyes, other than making them blurry until I get it all rinsed off. My face doesn't feel tight or itchy after using it, but still feels clean. Just watch - just because I like it, I bet it will get discontinued.
Couldn't wash away the disappointment 1

One of the worst cleansing oil I have used. I've been in the market to find a nice cleansing oil and came across this. The ingredients seemed nice but the formulation is absolutely terrible.
Oily mess without any attempt to wash away oil or dirt yet somehow you can't wash off the oil.
okay 3

it's okay for an inexpensive cleansing oil if you can afford a nicer one. it smells like play doh though and the texture is a little slimy. i prefer dermalogica.
Cooking oil 3
EM C from USA
It's literally the thickest "cleansing oil" I've ever used. It's not water soluble like other cleansing oils and it feels more like something you would fry food instead of cleaning your face. And it doesn't even removes make-up that well.
Not so great 2
Becca from Atlanta
I have two big problems with this. First, it does not emulsify and wash off easily. Second, it smells like a cotton candy eraser I had in first grade. And it's not a light scent. It does was off my makeup and sunscreen, which is the only reason it's not a one star review.
Great except the smell 4

I've tried tons of balms and oils and this one is good. I really don't like the smell, it's very strong
first try 3
wes from Newark, DE
this was my first time trying a cleansing oil and I am definitely not a fan. like others said it's really thick and difficult to wash off, it makes your face really oily. I even used this as the first of a double cleanse and even after the second face wash my face was still super oily. I have a lot of hormonal acne and oily skin to begin with and this just made it way worse, and since it was my first time trying a product like this I used it for way too long to see if it took some time to get used to it/to see results. the price is tempting but don't do it, it's not worth it.
Not a good product 1

This product does not clean your face at all. Make up stays on.
Nah. 1
Sweetrin from Florida
I just want to ask the people who gave this rave reviews, have you tried any other cleansing oils? This is the worst I've tried. It's thick and difficult to rinse off, doesn't smell good, and doesn't even do a great job. Probably better off using a scoop of coconut oil from the grocery store.
Way too oily! 2
Brooke from Southern California
This smells delicious, but it's extremely difficult to wash off. It took lots of rinsing, and then a water-based cleanser, and THEN micellar water. That just wasn't worth it.
One of the worst I've tried 1
SJ from NC
I've been using oil cleaners for years. I used to make my own until I tried Artnaturals Luxe oil cleanser and loved it. Ulta recently stopped carrying the Artnaturals cleanser so I bought this one to try bc I do like several other Formula 10.0.6 products. My daughter and I have both been in a constant state of breakouts since we started using this one. We have continued to use it for a couple of weeks just to make sure our skin didn't need to adjust, but every day we both have more and more pimples. Also, my skin doesn't feel as soft and smooth after using this as compared to others, it's more "waxy". Everyone has different skin, but for me this one is a no.
LOVE 5
KC from Maine
Only takes 3 pumps to cover my entire face and I feel like I've been on the same bottle for weeks and it's not even half gone. I love that you don't need to add water. I just massage it in for a couple minutes, even over my eyes, and wipe off with a warm wet cloth. Smell is light and sweet. The price is amazing for what it is!
Amazing lightweight hydrating cleansing oil 5
Lisa from New York
I do have sensitive rosacea skin that's prone to breakouts especially when it comes to essential oils. I was looking for a lightweight oil that would remove all my makeup but was also non comedogenic and wouldn't leave me with this heavy greasy feeling even before I cleansed & would also remove all of my makeup. I'd tried two others before I found this one, all the oils are lightweight plus it's super hydrating. It removes my waterproof mascara, eyeliner and the rest of my makeup very easily while also hydrating my skin. No breakouts, no irritation and it's super affordable. Love this ❤️
Unless it's your only option, skip it 2

I'm obsessed with oil cleansers, and Formula 10.0.6 makes some great products, so I wanted to love this one. The packaging is great (love the nice clean pump that dispenses only a small amount of product - directions say 2-4 pumps but I find it takes more to apply to the entire face). It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, also a plus. But the FEEL and the SMELL are mega bad. It feels like nothing as you're applying it (so much that you might frantically grab for more) but even the smallest amount just doesn't rinse. I don't usually double cleanse - an oil cleanse most days is enough - but I have reached for a water-based cleanser every time after this product. It feels unclean. And the smell. Oh my heavens, I thought other reviewers must just be picky. But the smell really is gross. I wouldn't describe it as anything like "infused with a hint of vanilla". To me it smells like a thick syrupy cinnamon coffee, and boy is it STRONG. I can still smell it on myself an hour or more after the fact. It lingers the way you want a perfume to linger - not a face wash. No thanks! I rarely review cosmetics, but I feel strongly that this one just isn't worth it. You can find Palmer's Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil around the same price point, and in my opinion that cleanser is among the BEST.
great FIRST cleanse 4
tamara from Michigan
this isnt a one and done product. you have to follow up with a regular cleanser or you will have "film" left on your face. works great to remove face makeup but I wished it was also good for the eyes. I have oily to combo skin and this does not break me out. pleasant light scent
Love this 5

Gently removes all makeup, leaves skin perfectly moisturized, smells amazing, very light scent
