Most Helpful Positive Review This fragrance makes me happy!!! I saw the pretty bottle and had to add it to my fragrance collection! I love trying new niche fragrances. So glad I did! The bottle is to die for, it's the prettiest bottle in my collection. The scent is gorgeous and complex like an expensive perfume that you would pay $250 a bottle for. Not what I would expect from a Disney fragrance (no offense as I love Disney). The first sniff is floral and citrus, with a little sea (in a good way) then as it settles on me I get a vanilla and coconut. I've been wearing it daily and something about it makes me feel happy.
Most Helpful Critical Review Wish they sold smaller sizes or had samples in store I wanted to love this perfume so much. Bottle and packaging is beautiful. I read all the reviews and hoped that the negative ones just had a different scent palate than mine. I wanted a more beachy, coconut scent. It is soooo strong at first spray that I can see why people were put off by it. It smells old ladyish at first. After it dries down, the scent isn't "bad" per say. But I have MANY other scents I prefer over this one. It's just not worth the $88 price tag for the scent you get IMO. The scent doesn't last all day either. I gave this one a good try, and I'm really sad/sorry to return it. I try not to return things to ULTA knowing most get thrown out. I wish they had sample bottles in the store or sold smaller sizes - I think that would avoid a lot of returns from hopeful people wanting to try this scent.

This one has a softer feminine scent but a little goes a LONG way for me. It gives me headaches if I even slightly overdo it.
Such a good perfume 5
princess_shymiera from Harriman, TN
Bought it for myself as a Yule gift and I love the smell of it. My mermaid loving heart sings every time I spray some on. I even wore it during my dates with my boyfriend
Not my type of scent 3
Elle from Queen, New York
I've been eying this perfume for years and I finally caved and bought it. I super excited to get it in the mail. Once I opened it I instantly feel in love with the packaging. However when I smelled it I was extremely dissapointed. I excepted this perfume to have a nice beachy scent but instead it smells like orange. On top of that the scent fades quickly.
i think i got a bad one 2
Ash8 from Manhattan Kansas
I bought this based on the fact that it said that it's top notes were neroli and bergamot. Those are two of my favorite fragrances in all the world. I also absolutely adore coconut and jasmine. so what could possibly have made it smell this way? It doesn't smell like any of that at all. What it does smell like is rancid oil. I'm really sad because I was stoked for this perfume. Mermaids Rock.
If my bottle wasn't made with oils that already went bad then it was made with oils that were really cheap. I'm going to try to recreate what this should have smelled like with top notch essential oils. I'm a big fan of their other Neroli-citrus fragrances: Payton, Isabelle, & Harper.
Pretty good 5
PerfumePolly from Chicago
I've been eyeing this for months and bought it during a sale recently at Ulta. It is a really lovely scent, definitely smells like the beach. I'd say jasmine is the most prominent scent followed by the coconut. I wouldn't have bought it full price- but I am ultimately glad I got it and added it to my collection. Not an everyday scent for me, but it will definitely go into my rotation.
Not love at first sniff 4
Ojosverde from Downingtown,PA
So initially I wasn't so sure ..when I first sprayed it the scent was strong but the dry down is so good ..soft soft and beachy ! The packaging is to die for ! If you are looking for a great summer fragrance and like coconut or beachy scents this is it !!!
So so bad 1
Lyse from Albuquerque
Smells like chemically spray sunscreen on an old lady. I wanted to love this because I love beachy scents and the bottle is gorgeous plus I love Ariel. I returned and definitely don't recommend
Smells like coconuts and the ocean 2
hilly wa from Corona
I love the way this perfume smells. It's such a subtle hint of coconut and ocean breeze⦠but the smell does not last at all. That's the only reason I'm giving it such a low score.
Pretty bottle; not so pretty smell 3
SirenaElizabeth from Texas
I purchased this because I love Ariel and having a perfume that would smell aquatic was right up my alley. I love the packaging, but the smell is slightly overwhelming.
If you want beachy opt for another perfume 1
Suzanne from Warwick, rhode island
I have to agree with a few others on here that the floral scent is powerful and not in a good way. As for the hope of a "beachy" scent this is an easy pass. Get yourself some bronze goddess by estee lauder. 100x better and at a fair price! Ulta carries it too
Doesn't last 2
Amanda from None
This smells like air with a touch of water π honestly, it smells a bit like the Delphine scent from Defineme, it just doesn't last more than a moment. The bottle is lovely though.
The Littest Merman π 5
Salem Merman from Salem, Massachusetts
I really liked the smell. It's smells like a mermaid in the waves of the Sea. Would totally buy again to feel my inner mermaid and would share with friends and family!
I live this product 5
Carmen from Texas
I love Payton sent, but I saw this bottle and Ariel being my favorite princess I just had to try it. My daughter got a hold of it and now has become one of her favorite. I always get compliments every where I go. People just want to smell me.
Absolutely disgusting! 1
Miah from Brookfield
This perfume is probably one of the most disgusting scents I've ever had. I was so in love with the packaging and the bottle I bought it without even trying it. With part of the base being coconut π₯₯ I thought it'd be more beachy. It definitely isn't. The other reviews about it smelling like an old lady are right on the money. I even told my youngest daughter, (10) to give it a try and she thought it was terrible. We opted for Ariana Cloud instead.
smells like the beach! 5
enabobina from Pennsylvania
this is my signature summer scent. i wear it all year round too! it smells just like a beachy perfume should. and its cruelty free and vegan which makes it even better! highly recommend
It was okay 3
Lia from New York
This wasn't a bad smell but it was underwhelming for the price. It reminded me of soap. Like it was nice but meh. I returned it.
Love it! 5
Tiffany from Stroudsburg
Smells amazing, like summer in a bottle for me! It is strong and floral notes might not be everyone's cup of tea. I personally enjoy the combination of scents and he packaging is beautiful! Will look so pretty on a vanity or shelf. I'm also happy to see more vegan and cruelty free products on the Ulta site. We need this brand expanded in stores next! I've purchased several of their fragrances and enjoy them all.
My Favorite Perfume! 5
Tiffany from Stroudsburg, PA
I cannot get enough of this beautiful perfume! It's so pretty to look at and it smells lovely. Makes me feel like I'm somewhere warm and it makes me happy. I'm very pleased at the amount of product that's in there (75ML/2.5FL OZ) and a little goes a long way so this will last me a while. I also love that the brand is cruelty free, vegan, and gluten free. Definitely give this brand a try. I've purchased several of their fragrances and I love them all!
I will get it again and again π§π»ββοΈβ₯οΈ 5

Takes some time. But smells nice 3
Amber from Phoenix
Took me some time to like this. But it wears nicely throughout the day and doesn't smell too strong
PERFECT 5
Miss Megan from Okc ok
I am obsessed with this scent. It's the perfect mix of floral and beachy without being too sweet. I'm super particular about fragrances - I love floral scents but I don't want to smell sugary or too musky, and this one is the perfect balance! This is my new go to perfume: the fragrance and the packaging are both beautiful!
PERFECTION!!! 5
Lulu from Boulder, CO
The title really describes it, the bottle and scent are PERFECTION! I'm a bit confused by some of the 1 star reviews, scent is subjective, but did they actually smell it? If it's too strong, use less! I own a lot of scents, love trying niche brands that you can't find everywhere. I'e learned the trick to scents is to let it sit on you for a couple minutes to give it time to blend with your body chemistry. Really great scents will shift and surprise you, Ariel is that kind of scent. To me its an aquatic scent with a gourmand finish. It smells like a memory of a happy day at the beach, the warm sun and sand on your toes, yet fresh, youthful and balanced. It's layered and complex, like a pinot noir.
Lastly, it makes me feel HAPPY. The packaging says "this scent is meant to evoke Ariel's sense of wanderlust" and it does just that! So glad I tried it without smelling first. I will buy again and again and again!!
Very refreshing 5
davesmsperfect from MI
I was a bit concerned when several called it "old lady" smelling. Personally to me, it smells like coconut & lilies. It's a fruity floral scent.
Cheap 1
PHYSICSGIRL from Colorado
If I was 12 years old.. Maybe. It's a cross between a childs scent and an old lady, donated to goodwill,
Yummy 5
Gwen from Iowa
I really enjoy this. It's true, I don't smell strong coconut either, but it smells cooling, refreshing, and like a mix of a day at the beach and a day at the salon. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but I love it. It's not too sweet smelling. More fresh and light. Like a grown up day at the beach. Will repurchase, 100%
