Most Helpful Positive Review Nice product, learning curve
I had never heard of the AIRLESS Blowout Revolving Styler before I was given the opportunity to test it. When I received the product in the mail, I attempted to read the instructions to learn how to use it. The concept of changing the direction of the spin was very intriguing, but wasn't clear how to make it happen. It said to click twice, and I thought that meant to push a button, but the only button is the power button. By default I figured out to close and open the device twice quickly, but even then it doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to try several times before it changes direction, which gets a little frustrating. There is definitely a learning curve to figuring out how to use it in a way that works for you. It took me a lot of practice. I do love that it adds volume to my roots, and that volume stays all day without a bunch of hairspray, if the weather is right. That is probably the best aspect of this product for me. I was able to both straighten and curl my hair with this. As far as straightening goes, I didn't feel that it did a better job than my regular straightening iron, and it takes a lot longer. I don't notice a shine that it claimed my hair would have, at least, not on the first day. I do love the curl my hair has when i use this AIRLESS Blowout Revolving Styler. It is easier to curl my hair with this than when I use my flat iron to curl, and I like the look better. Overall, I would probably not buy this product myself because I don't spend a lot of time on my hair on a regular basis. I am more likely to pick up my regular flat iron when I want to straighten my hair because it is quicker and easier for me. I would recommend this tool for people who do their hair more often than I do because it is helpful.
Most Helpful Critical Review Adds Much Needed Sheen
The Instyler AIRLESS Blowout Revolving Styler did a wonderful job adding sheen to my previously flat ironed natural hair. the Instyler AIRLESS Blowout Revolving Styler heated up quickly and added much needed volume. Reminds me of a chasing technique my stylist uses when he styles my hair. However, it wasn't as kind when it came to my naturally curly hair. I had to brush my curls before using the Instyler AIRLESS Blowout Revolving Styler but once I did, it easily glided across my hair. The brush bristles are firm and I wish there was at least one more row of bristles. All in all, the product worked as I expected.

Poor quality product. Original one purchased years ago was great. What happened. So disappointed. Returned.

My 2nd Instyler purchase with the 2-way revolving barrel aids in masterful styling & profiling results!
Yes Ioved the one I had but the Bristles need to be fixed
Toby from Albuquerque NM
I got this just a few months ago because the one I had before lasted about 10 years and finally died. The prob with this one is only after a few months the Bristles on the brush are coming out, and when i say coming out they are all falling out.
Great product but doesn't last long
Sarita from Los Angeles
I've been using these instylers for years and they work great at straightening my hair to the point where I rarely need to use a flat iron but they just down last long. The bristles fall out very quickly. Other parts on the tool fall off or don't seem to be able to withstand heat which seems pointless for a heat tool. Very frustrating and disappointing to have to purchase a new every year or so.
Had to return
Joan from Yorba Linda
Had to return the first one due to the loud noise the motor made.. now I have to return the second one today since it gets hot when it wants to.
Caityk13 from Washington
hair gets caught, not smooth when trying to glide through hair. do not recommend and will be returned.
Sorry, this didn't work for me.

This was very difficult to use and trying to do the back of my hair was nearly impossible.
Bristles broke & fried my hair

I don't know if I was just expecting too much from this thing but after trying it out I wasn't impressed at alllll. The barrel was going in the right direction & everything and after the second strand of hair I tried this on the bristles fell off & bent. I have thick & wavy hair so maybe that's why? my hair is too thick for the bristles? but I didn't even pick up a large amount of hair. also this thing FRIED my hair and it wasn't even on the high heat setting. disappointed & I will be returning this.

I had the original InStyler that was orange color and ordered it off TV about 10 years ago and it just recently died! I went and bought a standard curling iron to get by with and I HATED it and how it absolutely flattened and crushed my hair. I looked online to see if they still made this product anymore and was so excited to see that Ulta carries their newest model the InStyler Airless. I went right to the store and snagged one. The difference between this and a regular curling iron is obvious for miles. My hair is mid-back length and thinner, naturally straight and I just love to curl it. It holds my curls all day long and my hair is so soft and bouncy and not weighed down. Everyday feels like I just left the salon and I'm so happy they still make this iron! It doesn't burn your hair. It straightens well as well. I have never used it on my wet hair only dry, cannot attest to that portion. I hope this one lasts me another 10 years!! Worth every penny.

I have thick hair and get quick curls but I just wish the barrel was longer for more of a wave style

Not a fan it's just a glorified blow dryer with a brush. Before I purchased I reached out to instyler for recommendations. I have fine hair it seems that the barrel is to large for my hair and doesn't do anything other than straighten
Nothing like original

Tried once and ends looked horrible, and the bristles sucked . I loved the original I bought when it first came out . Wish I could get that .
Great Results, Horrible Price Considering Durability
TaKisha from Dallas, TX
I love the results, it's much easier to use than a flat iron. However, these things literally break and fall apart for no reason. Just now, as I'm typing this, I'm waiting for my styler to cool off so I can box up the pieces and hopefully return it for a refund. This is my second one to do this.
I would buy this productt again.
Ruby from Callahan Fl
I use this when I want a quick casual hair style.
Would not buy again.

I use it to style hair after I blow dry. This one is very cheaply made. The barrel is smaller than the last one I had.

I Shampoo my hair the night before, then use this in the morning. Works great! It beats using a blow dryer in the Summer!

This is my 3rd InStyler and I haven't been disappointed yet.
quick & easy!

I have thick chemically treated hair that's always had just enough frizz in it to make flat ironing a long tedious task. But this is amazing. it cut my time in half to straighten my hair.
I towel dried my hair & then used blow dryer to dry most of way. it literally took me 15 minutes to straighten my hair. I did use my straightener to smooth it out completely but this wouldn't be necessary for those with thin or straight hair.
Underwhelming at best;

I realized something - this is just a glorified curling iron (that doesn't work as well as a curling iron) and is more difficult to use. I should add at the outset that my hair is very fine, thinning and prone to breakage (I just entered menopause and didn't realize how significantly it would impact my hair quality).
My hair though is typically very smooth and silky but when I run my hair through these plates, it feels like the hair is dragging. I feel as if those spinning bristles are about to break my fragile hair strands while trying to smooth it out. So the potential for damage is too high for me to continue to use.
It also just doesn't volumize well or provide any sort of beachy waves. Yes you do get a bit of lift at the root but all my other hot air brushes do a much better job and FASTER. The heated plate is very very narrow and even w/my anemic strands, it took a very long time to style my hair. I don't even know how someone w/longer, thicker (even normal) hair would have time to use this in the morning unless they dedicated 20 min or more.
The heated plate does not hold the heat well either - it flashes to let you know it's still working to reach the desired temperature and it kept losing the heat on the plate very quickly.
It also seemed to break after just one use. I double clicked the plates to reverse direction (which is FABULOUS by the way - I wish my Dyson Air wrap styler had this feature) and it worked for a while but then stopped spinning entirely.
I was trying to find an alternative to the Dyson Air Wrap - I like it but I wanted something like what the Instyler was supposed to add in terms of adding smoother hair w/body w/out flyaways (the Dyson like many other products pushes air out so it magnifies any flyaways if you use the round brush - which I do).
Aesthetically it is a very hair elegant looking styler. The white is beautiful, the design spare and the double clicking function to change directions is just brilliant when it works

I do NOT like this one. I had the Original one for years and this one is nothing like it. I want to get a refund on this and get the OG Original
Tee from LC
I got this hoping it would help straighten my ends better with the boar bristles. Even on the lowest heat setting, it burned my hair and the bristles snagged a few strands out. Parts of my hair were still in kinks after passing the tool over it twice. Overall, I hate it.

I bought every instyler to see if I'd like it. Not my favorite. I'm not sure if it's because my hair is too curly or something but this was a fail for me. I'll stick to my Revlon one step hair dryer.
I have bought again and again, love it!

I've been using the Instyler since about 2010 maybe. I love how it leaves my hair straightened but with some body still, unlike a flat iron leaves my hair. There are times when I straighten my hair for months and I don't get split ends like I do with a flat iron. So happy I found this website.
