Let me just start off by saying that I have type 2a to 2b, very oily, thick hair. I have tried so many hair care products from Cantu or SheaMoisture to DevaCurl but nothing could help my hair keep its waves for more than a day. I have such an oily scalp that I would need to clean my hair everyday just to keep the oils away from my face (since I also have sensitive skin). I do follow the Curly Girl Method type videos and found out about this new line. I liked the price for the collection so I bought the entire line. After the first use I fell in love!! I was so happy! My scalp has never felt so clean and my waves feel so lightweight! The second day is where I determine if it truly does control my oily hair and it did! I was so surprised! The waves were still there and lightweight! It didn't affect my skin either. I did, however had to wash my hair the third day. I no longer have to wash my hair everyday! A little does go a long way so start off with a pump first. If I had to say anything bad about it, it would be that the shampoo can make your hair a tad bit rough ( I guess because it thoroughly cleans the hair), but after using the conditioner it brings your hair life!
I should have listened to the other negative reviews, this took all of the moisture out of my hair after only one wash. I bought the shampoo and conditioner. It instantly dried my scalp out it felt like a chemical burn. I had just got my hair cut about 4 weeks prior and this caused split ends, I don't dye my hair or use any heat or product aside from weightless oil for more moisture and shine. This created frizz and fray. It claims to be 98% natural but this is a harsh shampoo and the conditioner didn't condition at all...I got my hair somewhat back to what it was after trimming off split ends and using Matrix so long damage shampoo and Paul Mitchell's the detangler conditioner

I dye my hair bold shades of purple, blue, and magenta. When I want to do a little touch-up/color refresh but don't need to bleach, conditioner and moisturizing shampoos prevent the dye from penetrating well. I purposely chose this clarifying shampoo because some reviews said it kind of dried out their hair. I use it before a color retouch and condition after I rinse out the dye and I have had no problems with dryness. It also helps with removing build up of all the texturizing products I use in my hair.

I have thin, oily 1c/2a hair, that is 50% Grey& brittle with heavy breakage & damage from over-processing the mid length to ends. My hair loves this shampoo & conditioner. I use it once or twice a week. I don't find it to be drying. It cleans nicely, add shine & preserves some texture without it being too drying or too heavy. I find it gives weightless conditioning & strength. I live in a northern, cold climate. It would be to light for daily use unless I used a weekly deep conditioner/ protein treatment.

Bought this with caution after reading reviews but needed something affordable to use for my scalp buildup. I noticed my hair was very dry right after washing it out but followed up with a moisture conditioner that I left on for a few minutes. I only use once a week but it works well on the buildup and doesn't damage my hair that way.

I really wanted to like this shampoo because almost every other NYM product I've tried has done wonders for my hair, but this was a no go. It made my hair really dry, brittle, and frizzy. As soon as I applied it in the shower I knew something was off but I still gave it a couple more tries. Wish I could return it but I waited too long to realize how bad this was for my hair.

The shampoo was fine but the pump was such a pain to open the first time that I won't be buying this shampoo or conditioner again. For the price and quality, I'd rather buy something similar that doesn't have me going to YouTube to search for "how to open stuck bottle pumps."

I have oily color treated hair and Ulta was out of my usual brand so an associate recommended this brand. This makes my hair greasy and limp.

this shampoo and conditioner was out of stock forever when i wanted to purchase it but it was not worth the wait and hype. one of the worse shampoo/conditioner combos. it that dries my hair out so badly. can't even put my hand through my hair after using it. only good thing is the smell but it doesn't make up for how it makes my hair feel. now they both just sit in my cabinet.

I bought this shampoo along time ago. I just never got around to writing a review on it. I was excited to try this because I usually go for the more clarifying shampoo. I have low porosity hair wavy/curly. I loved the pink bottle I can't remember the name something with mango butter in it. It made my hair soft no build up I bought this thinking it be even better and the name alone caught my eye too. I used this probably a total of 6 to 7 time's. When I say this is bad I mean it is bad! My scalp was dry and itchy and my hair didn't even feel nice the conditioner to match sucked as well. It felt like I was putting some weird lotion into my hair. The smell isn't anything great, just has a generic scent kinda like plastic bottle and clean smelling. If you have low porosity hair I'd go with the pink bottled ones or the not your mother's blue shampoo. It's to tone your hair and that one smells insanely good and makes my hair soft along with the conditioner.

I got this shampoo because I have a lot of product build up and it does it's job. It has a lovely scent and really gets all the gunk off my scalp and hair. This should probably only be used on occasion because it does strip your hair and can dry your hair out. ALSO if you have color in your hair it will fade it! that's why I only use it on occasion. But it also works well as a hair color stripper, when I used it to fade out a red color it did really well.

I feel obligated to comment on every product I purchased, and I am kind of bored so- I love this set like I stated on the conditioner I am trying each set from NYM's and LOVE how my hair has changed.

I bought this because it was recommended by some curly hair groups, but this dried out my hair so badly. I used it 3 times and had to return it. It was tangled, dry, dull, and drab. All the shine was gone and my curls were stretched out.
I had made good headway with the moisture balance of my hair, but this knocked out that progress.

Makes my hair feel nice and clean.

this is a great smelling shampoo. It smells just as magical as I imagine moonstone would smell. Don't need much for an easy lather and makes my hair feel good

Maybe I was mistaken for what hair type this is truly meant for or maybe it just doesn't help oily hair. I've been having such a hard time finding the right shampoo and conditioner to work for me but this was the worst one I've tried. I tried it because it said it would "remove buildup" and it was vegan and natural. Day two hair looked like an oil slick. My main goal is to make my hair last a little longer without washing but this did the complete opposite. Looks like I'm still on the search for the perfect shampoo and conditioner. It does smell really nice, though.

I have used other Not Your Mother's products and loved them so I decided to give this one a try. Terrible decision, this dried my hair out so badly and my hair was always knotted. I didn't finish the bottle and threw it out.

not heavily fragranced, moisturizing enough that allows me to comb my hair and not tangle. I have 2b/c curly hair and use this to prevent product buildup

I recently just purchased this and fell in love. From dying my hair too often this summer
This product has made a huge impact on my hair.

I actually bought this shampoo and conditioner for my daughter. She picked it out and one day, I decided to use just the shampoo without any conditioner. I do have curly hair and this made my hair so soft. Normally, I have to have conditioner, but I really wanted to clean my hair of all products and I couldn't believe how soft my hair was with only using this shampoo. It didn't make my hair frizzy or anything. I would recommend it and I might try the curl shampoo from this brand.

I used this with the Not Your Mom's scalp scrub pre-wash on my wash day and it completely removed the build up from my hair. I did not follow with the conditioner but used my own because the shampoo makes your hair feel a tad dry afterwards. I also washed both my girls' (one straight, the other curly) and it left everyone's hair soft and completely reset of all the gunk. I'm glad I made this purchase.

I have oily hair and tend to get itchy scalp. This solves both issues and my gray hair glistens after each shampoo. Agree w comments about packaging-pump doesn't work.

Had a bad allergic reaction after one use.
