    great product for the cost

    By ets

    from Seattle

Comments about Garnier Olia Brilliant Color:

I have used this product three times and I love it. I used to get my hair done professionally which costed hundreds of dollars. The darkest brown shade gets me the same color and lasts equally as long. If you are careful with washing it it can last up to two months. Never dried out my hair and it has a natural fade out as well. Never looks unnatural. Great product. I am now a permanent buyer of this product.

I just dyed my hair with olia 4.35 and I am in love!! I have a lot of greys in the front but barely any in the back. The color is a dark, but not too dark, brown with soft red & gold tones. It looks great. I am so glad I took a chance.

I have salon colored hair. Have been wanting to try at home color for a while. Currently golden blonde with older highlights. Safe to use the light blonde when my light brown roots come in? Hoping to have all one color. Thanks!

                A:

Hi Taylor! Thank you for you interest in our Olia Haircolor. It is important to keep in mind that Haircolor can only lighten natural hair 2 levels. Therefore, the lightest shade that you can use on your natural hair is a medium blonde. However, you would also want to keep in mind that you do not want to put this shade of Haircolor on top of any highlights that you have. If you would like to discuss this further, please call our toll free guideline number 800-442-7643. We hope this helps!

Hi Gris! Thank you for your interest in our Olia Haircolor. You can use this product on your natural hair. However, it is important to keep in mind that Haircolor can only lighten natural hair two levels or shades. If your hair is black, we recommend not choosing a shade lighter than a Medium Brown. We hope this helps!

Hi, my natural hair color is a light ash brown. I had my hair highlighted with blonde in May and July this year. I then had it died a red color like 3 weeks ago. I now want to dye it to a medium brownish or coffee brown color and try to let it grow out with out damaging it. My hair is thin. Can I use this hair color or what do you recommend from the line and will it look brown? my red is like fading with lighter areas where it use to be blonde. it looks red fading hair. thanks

                A:

Hi there! If your hair was highlighted to a very pale blonde, it is possible that you need a tint back formula to add the pigment back into your hair to keep it from fading so quickly and discoloring. If your goal is a medium brown, we recommend tinting back to a neutral medium brown level. This will neutralize the red color and give you an all-over medium brown. Hi; could you please tell me if this is comparable to a "Dark Ash Brunette" shade. If not, what would you suggest that's darkest-brown, without any golden/red highlights, please?
              Thank you so much!

                A:

Hi there! A Dark Brown shade would be our 4.0 in the Olia. This is a neutral, and will not have any added gold or red tones. If you would like one shade darker, you can try our 3.0 Darkest Brown which is also a neutral.

                A:

Hi! You are safe to re-color your hair darker as long as there are no areas of your hair that are pale or white blonde. If they are that light you will have to do a color correction to avoid breakage or discoloration. Hope this helps!

My hair is dark brown and I want to go to a light brown almost blonde color, which Olia color would be best?
Asked on 6/11/2017 by Callie Girl from Parkersburg, Wv

              1 answer

              • Brand Expert

                A:

Lightening dark brown hair is a bit of a challenge. Most hair dyes, like the Olia shades, can lighten natural hair up to 2 shades lighter than the natural color. For dark brown hair, the lightest it can go with a shade of Olia is light neutral brown 6.03. To go lighter than a light brown and into a darker blonde shade, we recommend using the Nutrisse Ultra Color in the shade ultra light cool blonde LB1.
Another option is to lighten the hair to a light brown and put in some highlights with a separate highlighting kit.

So I have an ombré look going on. My roots are a light brown which is natural and then my ends are blond which is colored back from october, it's like a mix between golden/honey blonde. I would like to be blonde all over again but I'm nervous that with the fade into the blonde, it all won't match up? Suggestions?

              • Brand Expert

                A:

Hi there! Since your hair is light brown naturally and Olia doesn't contain ammonia it will not be able to lift your hair to a blonde so it won't match the bottom half of your hair. If you would like a personalized consultation, please call Garnier at 1-800-442-7643 M-F 9AM-7PM ET. Thank you.

                A:

Hello Marie! It depends on how dark your natural brown hair is. If your natural color is closer to an auburn I would not suggest the Dark Blonde shade. We would recommend the Light Brown to start out. Make sure to perform a strand before applying it all over your hair as well. This will be able to show you if it will bring out the brassy tones in your hair or not. We hope this information is helpful!

We are sorry for the confusion. The lightest shade that Olia has offered is Lightest Ash Blonde #91/2.1. Our Light Blonde, which is natural is #9.0. Both of these are still current shades. We have not offered a Lightest Natural Blonde in this line. Hope this clears things up.
