I have NO idea where the "greasy" complaints are coming from, unless they aren't following the directions and slathering it on instead of using a small amount and patting on the skin (like you should with 99% of skincare products). A little goes a long way, and it is the ONLY moisturizer I have found that keeps me shine free and minimizes my pores all day without clogging them and making my skin angry in the process. For someone who has acne prone skin, that's a godsend in itself. Based off my love for this product, I've replaced pretty much my entire skincare line-up with Murad products (aside from my ride or die Glow Recipe items). I usually try to find the best cheapest version of something, but sometimes it's better to spring money wise for the very best product. This is it.
I have very oily and sensitive skin. In the past, regular sunscreens have always felt heavy and made me break out. The old formula of the mattifier never irritated my skin, felt weightless, and looked flawless under my foundation. Although the newer formula does have a pore filling, smoothing effect, it feels heavy and greasy ALL DAY LONG, and smells like orange blossom with a sunscreen smell. This does not mattify or control oil at all, which is half of what it's claiming to do. If you do not wear makeup, and have less oily skin than me, maybe this would work for you. The worst part is that my holy grail foundation, the Fenty Matte foundation, will not blend AT ALL over this mattifier. I have used the new Naked Urban Decay foundation and it seems to work better. I understand that this is probably a formulation incompatibility with the Fenty foundation and the new mattifier, but I have always applied my foundation in the same manner with a slightly dampened beauty blender, and my foundation has always looked amazing. When I try to blend the Fenty foundation over the new mattifier, it instantly CLUMPS and slightly hardens on the surface of my sponge but somehow manages to remain sticky enough to actually remove some of the foundation in patches as I am blending. I can see my skin in bits where the foundation has not blended. I have even tried applying less of the mattifier and waiting a few minutes before applying foundation, but, like I said, this stuff DOES NOT mattify and feels GREASY the second you put it on.

I have adult acne and oily skin. I switched my facial moisturizer from Kiehls to this Murad moisturizer because Kiehls started to become to heavy on my problem skin. I still love Kiehls. But this Murad moisturizer does not make my skin oily and I love it. Because it mattifies the skin, after I put it on I'm tempted to leave my house without makeup on.

Love this stuff as mg day time moisturizer. I have very oily, acne prone skin with huge pores. I have had a lot of trouble finding a moisturizer that doesn't leave me looking greasy and lay on top of my skin. My skin feels soooo soft after using this and it really does keep the oiliness at bay. And bonus points for having sunscreen!!! Only thing I don't love is the price for the small tube!

I've had many older relatives with skin cancer and in general I think that all white people should use a SPF moisturizer on their face every day. I also am very prone to acne and oliy skin and have large pores. This is the one-stop solution for my morning daily face routine and I really can't go without it. I've had mixed experiences with Murad products in the past, and they are generally overpriced, but this stuff is worth the money every time. It never causes breakouts and even reduces the oiliness of my T bone and the appearance of pores on my nose. It's lightweight and easy to apply and hardly feels like a sun block at all. For those looking to protect their face without risking breakouts, this is what you've been waiting for.

When I first received this product I was really excited. The application process is a bit tricky. The best way to succeed is to take a nickle sized amount and distribute it evenly and quickly on both sides of your face. Don't linger to rub it in because it will peel a bit. The number one important step is to not touch your face afterwards. I dont wear makeup so this is the perfect product for me.

Yep, for a product meant for acne prone skin, this made me break out, and I thought it was just me but it happened to my mom too her skin is different from mine and she normally doesn't have acne problems.

Works perfect with oily skin minimizing pores. Have been mistaken for wearing make up when just wearing this on my bare face.

I have VERY oily skin, and have tried product after product and nothing helped. I saw results instantly. It has a nice citrus scent and keeps my skin oil free all day!

I bought to use as a sunblock but I love the way my foundation goes on after!

I'm 50/50 on this product. It does leave my skin matte, for a few hours. After a few hours I do notice my t-zone becoming oily but nothing too bad. It does have a bit of a scent but not bothersome. It feels a bit thick but once you apply it it's not heavy on the skin at all. I do not like that depending on which moisturizer I use, it pills as well as with my foundation. Overall, I'd purchase again unless I found something similar that doesn't pill.

I've used this for years; it moisturizes the skin and has a nice SPF that is non greasy and doesn't clog pores. They have changed the formula over the years (spf level has changed) but some how I like this one more.

I love their other products but this specific one dried out and irritated my skin. My skin is not sensitive at all, never has a product not worked for me. It made my face feel very textured. I'm very oily and have big pores and hoped it performed miracles but this product was just not made for me.

It leaves my skin soft and doesn't leave my face oily

I gave it a fair shot and it does not hold up to this Texas humidity. It actually made my face super oily after a few hours. The only good thing about this is the smell.

I was looking for a twofold because I work outside. The texture is less greasy than most moisturizer and didn't make me break out but the spf is not very strong or it doesn't last long. I've gotten sunburned wearing this so have to continue dealing with regular sunscreen. I would recommend only as a moisturizer if you want a matte feel.

I was using the Murad Essential-C moisturizer before I made the switch to this one. I love Murad products especiallly the Essential-C line, but found that in the Florida summer humidity and running outside on the daily the other spf moisturizer was too heavy for mys skin. This mattifying moisturizer has honestly already helped, it wears so lightly, smells great, and leaves no white cast or greasy feeling. I might keep the other for the winter months when I need more hydration but for now I'm hooked.

Love it! Does help blur my skin and protects from the sun!

The old formula was a fantastic primer. It was the only product that kept my oiliness at bay. The new formula had citrus fragrance. Why??? This is an item for people with acne prone skin. It makes no sense. There are much more affordable sunscreens that dry matte, no need to spend the $$ on this.

I loved this product from moment one! I had previously been using Shiseido which was supposed to be mattifying, but It would leave an oily film on my face. I decided to try Murad and it was instantly absorbed and left my face feeling fresh not oily. No residue means no residue with this product. Excellent for oily skin!

I had LOVED the previous formula in the SPF 15 version of this sunscreen, but the SPF 45 version with the added silicone broke me out. I also noticed that my makeup separated after only an hour or two with this underneath. If you're looking for something similar to the previous SPF 15 formula, I've recently found good success with Jack Black's Oil-Free Sun Guard SPF 45.

I have super oily skin, med skintone, and large pores. Not I get a little shiny, no I look like I didn't wash my face for a week. I've had a really hard time with an spf. Or they work and I break out. I've tried expensive and drug store. So far this has been the best one I've ever used! I don't get super oily a little shiny but nothing crazy like before. I would recommend anyone debating to give it a try if you have been struggling.

I love this product! I have oily skin and this is just perfect.
Jane from Chapel Hill NC
I LOVED the old formula (SPF 15) but this new formula is not mattifying to the same degree and it stings my eyes if I get it anywhere near the eye area. Can anyone recommend an alternative product??

I'm way too oily for this product. Greasy in an hour. Returning!
Gabz003 from NY, NY
This product is crazy thick, and almost exacerbates my oily skin instead of mattifying it. This honestly feels like a greasy sunscreen more than anything else. Plus, my skin is relatively clear (not having a breakout in 6+ months), and now it is covered in deep, painful breakouts.
Crystal from San Diego
WOW this stuff has me looking like Casper the Greasy Ghost. Disappointing considering how much I like Murad's Invisiblur sunblock. I wanted to try something with a slightly higher protection level than Invisiblur, but this isn't going to work for day to day. I might wear it to the beach but that's about it. Also has a classic "sunblock" smell, which I really don't like.
