Smells Like Lilies

Comments about Clairol Nice 'n Easy Permanent Hair Color:

I'm really enjoying the new formula. I really liked the old formula as well. This one doesn't have the strong smell usually associated with at-home hair dye. It really smells just like lilies. I also don't get the the scalp scabs (gross but real) and irritation I got with this brand, other brands, and salon jobs anymore. The only negative I've noticed is color seems to fade from out of gray hair faster. I don't think they are able to retain the new formula as long. I'm okay with the trade off though. Much less irritation, and no more at-home hair dye chemical smell.

Comments about Clairol Nice 'n Easy Permanent Hair Color:

I just wanted to add my 2 cents after seeing the negative reviews of the new formula. I have always been sensitive to the old PPD formulas and had to endure a painful scalp for days after dying. This formula did not have a powerful smell, did not burn my scalp at all, and covered my grays. The only complaints I have are that the color came out more reddish than I like and that it did stain the skin around my forehead more than normal. Nonetheless, I like this formula enough that I intend to use it again but will probably apply Vaseline to the skin around my hairline to try to prevent staining and follow up with a deposit only blue conditioner to keep the red down.

Comments about Clairol Nice 'n Easy Permanent Hair Color:

the shade did match the shade on the box. it came out lot more red than prior formula. I felt like after I washed my hair, it left a ton of stain on my scalp and any area that i had put the color on(lot more than normal). and finally, i had so much hair shedding in the shower than usual after using this dye. it was by far the harshest i've used before. previous formula was much better.

Hello! We have depleted our stock of original Nice 'n Easy. The new formula is a big upgrade on all steps of the process and combines all latest findings from Clairol in one product. Our new formula replaces PPD and PTD dye molecules with the new ME+ molecule, which significantly reduces the risk of developing a new allergy. Our new damage blocking technology helps to prevent damage on the hair and provide longer lasting color results. We've upgraded to a no-drip, cream formula that features conditioners at every step of the color process to alleviate the feeling of dry hair. We hope that you give it a try!
