Smooth like butter

Comments about Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth 1.25'' Smoothing Iron:

I used to swear by a Chi iron. I have had 2 of them in my lifetime so far and when I found that mine was broken (the end broke in my suitcase after traveling), I was in full on search mode trying to look at other Chi irons. I read reviews and went in to Ulta thinking I was going to buy another one. I asked the girls at the salon area for their expertise and I am so glad I did! They weren't high on the Chi's, but suggested the PM Neuro Smooth. They raves about it. I decided to purchase it and it made me feel better that I could return it if I was not satisfied. I have been extremely satisfied I got this!!! It has made my hair silky smooth and will stay straight for a longer period of time! It has really helped with the humidity; normally my hair would have been a poof even after using the Chi, but now it stays straight with no frizz! I could not be happier with this purchase! Plus it has an auto shutoff which is very nice to have! And I don't even have to use the highest heat setting! Just buy it, you won't regret it!

Best Flat Iron EVER!

By LJK1123

Comments about Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth 1.25'' Smoothing Iron:

I have been faithful to the CHI brand for many years. Since I use it daily, I've purchased 5 in the last 10 years. Recently, my CHI stopped working again and I decided to splurge and get the PM Neuro Smooth 1.25. The first time I used it I was floored as to how healthy my hair looked. It did not tug or pull or snag my hair at all! The iron glides over my highlighted blonde hair beautifully. What also blew me away is my hair is still straight and not at all frizzy in the morning.
Other features I like are the adjustable temperature, super fast heating up of 30 seconds, and auto shut off.
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an iron that will not fry your hair like the CHI has done to my hair all of those years. Spend the extra money because you're hair is worth it!!
Also, try some of the Neuro leave in products. Yes, they are a pricier than some of its competitors but you use very little and they work well with the iron.

Comments about Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth 1.25'' Smoothing Iron:

I bought this because my friend who is a hair stylist recommended the Paul Mitchell nano technology. I needed a new iron after my Chi iron started shorting out in the wire after only a few uses. I returned it and bought this after comparing so many irons and reading reviews for days. I definitely made the right choice. My hair is on the wavy side and is healthy in some spots and dry in others due to processing. This irons settings change easily and quickly if I need it to. Happy with what I purchased.

I have used PM smoothing irons for 15 years. I have NEVER had one that pulls my hair out. There is some faulty craftsmanship with this model. It does all it claims to do but also pulls out strands of my hair every time. Those strands of hair end up caught inside the inner part of the handle. I have made a complaint to PM in hopes they are able to correct this issue.

              • Q:

I have 4c hair, I try to wear it natural as often as I can, but I recently cut it very short for the summer. With the length it is currently at, I now have to straighten it every day and wash and blow dry maybe twice a week. I still want my hair to be healthy, but with me having to straighten it every day, it makes it difficult. I already use heat protectant on my hair, but I am trying to figure out how compatible the straightener will be with my hair. My hair it does not retain very much moisture, so it is naturally very dry. Is this straightener going to fry my hair, and dry my scalp if I only oil my scalp 2-3 times a week?

The Neuro Smooth is great for straightening thick hair. Make sure you're using heat protection like Neuro Liquid with the iron. The lowest heat setting recommended for fragile hair is 250-290 degrees.

I have straight, thick (I have a lot of hair, the individual strands are fine, color treated hair. I am trying to decide between the PM Neuro Smooth and the Express Ion Smooth+. I have heard great things about both. I would like to straighten and style my ends and also make loose curls (I have no texture to my hair whatsoever, my ends just tend to dry and flip out in the wrong direction). Which Iron would be better for my hair? Would the Neuro Smooth be too intense for my already straight hair? Do they both perform well in curling hair? Thanks.

Each of our brands are now labeled as the brand name. On the back of the box you will see "Distributed by John Paul Mitchell Systems". You did indeed receive the Neuro Iron :)

I had a Chi that was supposed to be dual voltage and I did use it overseas but when I got back to the US and plugged it in it didn't work. Is there some special adapter plug that should be used with this dual voltage iron?

Neuro Smooth 1.25" Smoothing Iron was transitioned to dual voltage about a year and a half ago.

The best way to check to see if your tool is Dual Voltage is by looking at the Safety Label located on the tool or on the power cord.

A tool that IS NOT Dual Voltage will say something similar to:
                  120V / AC, 60hz, 40W

A tool that IS Dual Voltage will have a voltage range of 110-240v, and a frequency range of 50/60hz, and will say something similar to:
                  110-240V~ 50/60hz 40W

Use of a Power Inverter/Voltage Converter to step up/down the voltage voids any and all warranty, and JPMS is not liable for any damage or injury caused by using one. Only a Plug Adapter which changes the plug type is allowed.,The Neuro Smooth 1.25" Smoothing Iron is dual voltage. You would need a plug adapter for the country you are visiting.

I have curly hair and I have to brush it out a lot to make it all frizzy and puffy to get the curls out. With this straightener will I have to brush my hair out before or can I just get right to it?

Run a fine-tooth comb through the hair ahead of the iron to get the hair distributed evenly on the iron's surface.
