Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I'm surprised at some of the comments here. Especially about the iron not getting hot enough...it goes up to 450 degrees... I have fine hair, but I have a lot of hair. It lacks volume but is naturally a little wavy. I chose this ceramic iron because I'm currently growing my hair out (finally got it past my shoulders) and wanted an iron that won't damage my hair in the process. I went for the 1.25 barrel because I wanted to be able to do loose waves or tighter curls (by taking smaller sections of hair) and it works great. It takes all the frizz out, gives my hair a beautiful shine, and leaves my hair super soft and bouncy. The curls/waves stay until I wash my hair.
If you aren't worried about damaging your hair you can always go for gold or titanium which may give you the curl you want faster. Ceramic keeps even heat on the entire barrel (think cast iron skillet) so it doesn't burn your hair. Slow and steady wins the race!

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have used the Hot Tools curling irons for many years. This is my first NanoCeramic curling iron and I love it so far. It gets hotter than the Hot Tools and it takes some getting used to but so far I really love it.

I have an old curling iron big barrel that works better. I was hoping to get this to update my old one and wanted one that heated up fast. I barely get any curl from this at all, so overall, not happy.

I purchased this iron because I have thick hair and needed something that would get hot enough to add curl to my hair. Unfortunately, this did not work. Not sure if I got a defective iron, but I put it on the highest setting and it didn't even get hot. I could actually touch the iron and it only felt warm. This iron also snagged my hair. Not happy with product so returned to store.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have very straight, thick greying hair that is almost impossible to curl. My hair doesn't even perm very well. This baby is great! I use a light spritz of hairspray before I use the curling iron, hold for a few seconds and let unwind. Shazam! I have curly hair. I let it cool, style and spray again.
This iron heats up quickly and has a great swivel at the cord end. The cord is longer than I expected which is nice. The heating element is variable so you only use the heat that you need to curl your hair. All in all, very pleased with my purchase.

Comments about Hot Tools NanoCeramic Curling Iron:

I have super fine hair that is naturally blonde but highlighted even lighter so it's got some color damage. It never held a curl before and when it did my hair felt crunchy from heat protectants and styling products. With this iron my curls stay, I don't have to use as much product so they are nice and bouncy instead of crunchy, and with the use of a heat protectant spray my hair doesn't feel dry or damaged after use. I am very impressed with the staying power of my curls and how gentle (for a styling tool) this is for my hair.

Nanoceramic is an excellent choice for colored hair. The surface gives a soft even heat. We recommend a lower temperature setting on colored hair for better protection and to prevent fading. Start around 325 degrees and go up until you reach a temperature that curls well with your hair's texture.

The difference is the material of each -

CeramicTI Tourmaline (purple) - Ceramic Tourmaline surface with titanium additive emits gentle far-infrared heat and negative ions to increase hydration and shine while reducing frizz.

24K gold plated (gold) - Even heat distribution create long-lasting curls and waves leaving hair looking smooth and glossy.

NanoCeramic (black & white) - NanoCeramic barrel creates an ultra smooth surface for frizz-free styles.
