  • Skin Routine – Toner & Beauty Oils for the Win

You can be born with all the genes for a smooth, glowing face. But most of us have to work at it. Here’s how.

    1. Tone it, own it. Toners sweep away impurities, leaving pores clean and also protecting your skin. And they prep your skin to better absorb everything that comes after. Plus, they’re very helpful for people with oily or acne-prone skin. Here’s our go-to: Botanics Refreshing Toning Spritz, an organic rosewater toner spray that strips your makeup and revitalizes your look.

    2. Banish dryness. Got any rough spots? They could lead to uneven makeup application. So get rid of them quickly with your new secret weapon: a moisturizing stick. We love Yes to Coconut Oil Stick, which goes on easy and mess-free. Use it on your cheeks, chin, under your eyes – anywhere you need a little tune-up!

    3. Get a glow. Time for a beauty oil – unlike what you might think, they don’t lead to slick-looking skin. They actually balance your skin and give it luminosity. Ulta Beauty Collection’s 24K Beauty Oil is infused with real 24k gold flakes – so your skin always looks like it’s in the light of a halo.

  • Face – A Warm, Cheeky Glow

One of spring’s biggest trends requires far fewer tools and skills than you may be used to. In true throwback form, take a break from contouring or strobing and go for brightly blushed cheeks.

    1. Brush on blush. Go for one that looks velvety and fresh (to match those eyes). We love IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Ombre Blush in Coral Flush. These coral and peach shades are great for warm or dark skin with yellow undertones. If you have lighter skin with blue undertones, choose a pink shade, like Je Ne Sais Quoi.

What’s the best blush brush? Choose one with a medium dense head with fluffy angled tip – they’re designed to angle right on your cheekbones. Our pick: It Brushes for Ulta Love Beauty Fully Flawless Blush
    Brush #227.

    2. Extra credit: Try a hint of shimmer. Just a little will do it. Dab Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Magic (a pretty honey gold) on the top of your cheekbones and above the brow bone.

  • Eyes – The Softest Smolder

Peaches, oranges and reds – keep them on slow burn. This blend of hues complements all skin tones.

    1. Dab on a hint of color. Using the NARS NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette (which we love for its good-anywhere-anytime vibe), warm things up by dabbing on a light but smoldering base. The color Mendoza has a hint of shimmer and if you use your finger versus a brush the sparkle is more likely to stick.

    2. Add depth with crease color. Taking a deeper burnt sienna color (try Temptress from the NARS palette), brush your creases – it adds dimension and makes your eyes pop. Be sure to blend, blend, blend.

    3. Brighten the corners. A little sparkle in the inner corners — opens your eyes. Apply Shooting Star from the NARS palette. Just two dabs will give you a crush of sparkle that will last.

    4. Smudge color beneath your eye. Dip back into Mendoza. Using a thin brush (try It Brushes for Ulta Love Beauty Fully Angled Liner/Brow Brush #217), line your lower lash line to bring the smolder full circle.

Why use eye shadow below the eye? It has a softness that liner can’t provide. If you’re all about a natural look, shadow is your go-to.

    5. Make your lashes bang! The separated lash look creates a full effect. For a lush, no-lash-left-behind look, use Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara in Black.

  • Lips – Shimmery & Full

Take your lips one shade deeper than your eyes – the key to monochromatic charm.

    1. Line, define. Line lips with a longlasting pencil, like Urban Decay Cosmetics 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Crash. Fill them in – you’ll get stronger color that way.

    2. Cover with smooch-worthy pigment. Another layer of color – even more impact. Try Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick in Hot Rumor. Use your finger to apply it – really packs in the color.

    3. Make them shimmery. Great for a daytime look — dab on just a bit of Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Magic for sparkle that catches the sun.

New technique alert! Dab skin-tone concealer on your lips before putting on your color – it acts like a canvas to make the color sink in deeper and stay longer.

  • Hair – Color Block Luster

Rich shades – melted together and ready
    to shine.

Service to try: Root Touchup – keeps your whole look fresh and vibrant. An easy way to boost your look between regular color services!

Product to buy: Redken Color Extend Magnetics Shampoo – keeps that hue alive and popping.
