Get inspired as Allure’s beauty assistant goes glam with our Smokey Glaze fall look.

The smokey eye is like that little black dress that you know you’ll always look good in. But even a LBD needs a little something extra from time to time. A smattering of glitter, a layer of shine, and some strategic contouring is the fastest way to dress up the classic look and bring on the drama for fall.

All About That Base

To begin, dip into First Kiss, the rosy gold tone in the Tarte Tartelette Tease Clay Eyeshadow Palette, with a small fluffy shadow brush and buff it onto the lids and up to the brow bones using a windshield wiper-like motion.

A Bit Of Glitz

Take the Butter London Glazen Gloss in Bronzed and lightly tap the product all over your lids until it’s spread evenly (your fingers are the best tool for this step). What’s great about this cream shadow is you can keep it sheer for a more natural look, or bump up the drama by adding more layers.

Mix It Up

Once the Butter London Gloss has dried, go back to the Tarte eyeshadow palette and swirl your brush into both Heartbreaker and BFF. Apply the mix to the outer corner of your eyes in a “V”-shape, concentrating the pigment at the tip of the “V” for an ombré effect. Clean up any fallout and add a bit of Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer to brighten up your undereye area.

Add Some Color

Instead of bronzer, dip into the peachy-nude shade in the Smashbox L.A. Lights Blush & Highlight Palette. Using an angled powder brush, apply it slightly lower than your cheekbones. Then dab a highlighter along the ridge of your cheekbones and on the other high points of your face that you want to stand out. This will give you a more sculpted look and impart a healthy glow.

Draw The Line

Warm the ULTA Beauty Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black Out on the back of your hand to ensure a smooth application and line both top and bottom lashes. Starting with the top lid, layer the shade BFF on top of the pencil using an angled liner brush and diffuse the pigment into a smudgy cat eye. Repeat on the lower lash line and make sure to connect it to the top liner at the outer corners. The shadow will simultaneously set the liner and give the look a smokier, sexier finish. Finish with a few generous coats of It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara.

The Finishing Lip

For the ultimate no-fuss lip, use the Lano Lips Tinted Balm in Perfect Nude. It’s glossy enough to fake a fuller lip, but subtle enough to keep the focus on the eyes. This shade fades naturally so no need to worry about constant touchups.
