Yes, you CAN wear it to breakfast.
Find out how – and more.

Glitter is everywhere. And it’s no longer just for nighttime. From coffee to cocktails you can wear it on your eyes, cheeks, lips, nails. Here are the secrets to mastering one of fall's biggest makeup trends.

It's not a big commitment. Choose a softly glittered gloss that looks fresh for the a.m. like Ulta Beauty Shiny Sheer Lip Gloss or MAC Dazzleglass (made with reflective pearls that sparkle and shine). Along with bringing the sparkle, they keep your lips smooth and hydrated.

TIP: Be a glitter lip chameleon. You can shade-shift your lipstick or gloss with a top coat like Urban Decay Vice Special Effects Top Coat. When you apply it over your lip color, you get a stronger shimmer, glitter or metallized effect.

Sweep a soft shimmery blush on your cheeks. Try IT Cosmetics CC+ Ombre Radiance Blush, which features a gradient of rosy, sparkly hues that you can build and blend. Just grab your favorite brush and make circles over the apples of your cheeks. A little pop, a lot of wow.

Or try Ulta Beauty Collections Mineral Blush—it gives you a healthy glow and stays put for hours.

TIP: Any mineral blush typically has a hint of a glitter. Good for your skin. Good for your sparkle. Double win.

If you're new to glittered eyes, start with liner—for a little notice-me definition. The NYX Slim Sparkle Eye Pencil applies smoothly and is easy to blend.

Ready to hit those shadows? Any formula (powder, cream, liquid) gives you a flirty shimmer and pop of color without being as over-the-top as loose glitter (which is coming later, don't worry!).

Our glitter shadow stars are Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow (it combines tiny bits of pearl with glitter) or the playful shades in the Glitter Bomb Prismatic Glitter Eyeshadow Palette (pretty pinks, vibrant violets and gorgeous golds ). Good news: These shades look good on every skin tone.

For another dazzling range of color, try the Urban Decay Moondust palette, filled with hues that feel like creams but go on like powders, creating a smooth yet reflective look.

TIP: Apply creamy glitter shadow with a wet finger to enhance both the pigment and sparkle.

Helllloooo, loose glitter. Let the fun begin. Before you use it, apply Too Faced Glitter Glue Shadow Primer on your lids—it locks down your color so you don't get messy fallout. Then press the loose glitter to your entire eyelid. NYX Face and Body Glitter comes in a rainbow of fun colors, so play around until you find your fave.

Feeling adventurous? Use glitter around the eyes – look like you've been touched by stardust. Here's how: Put primer on a Q-tip and dab it under your eyes (right below your lower lashes) up to your temples. Use your fingers to gently apply the glitter until you get the amount you want.

TIP: Always apply loose glitter with your fingers because the heat from them helps the glitter stick.

At the end of the day, know one thing: A little sparkle can make a big difference. And it's all about the attitude. Have fun, glitter lovers!
