HOW TO APPLY
Want flutter power? Try falsies. Instant drama. False lashes are an old Hollywood trick (they’ve been used on actresses as far back as the early 1900s) and are now a big trend … you just have to dare a little.
Let’s do this! We have easy steps created by Samantha Manuzak, Design Team Educator at The Salon at Ulta Beauty. Remember: Practice makes perfect. (Psst … not sure what type of falsies to pick? Scroll to the bottom for our quick guide.)
1. PUT ON SHADOW & EYELINER.
Yep, always first. Otherwise, you might get shadow fallout that you won’t be able to easily shake. Plus, eyeliner hides slight imperfections when putting on falsies. You don’t have to go thick or winged. Just do you.
2. GENTLY CURL & SHAPE THE FALSIES.
Before you put them on, put them in an eyelash curler and pump softly to accentuate their curve (avoid bending, however!).
3. TRIM & FLEX THE STRIP.
Cut only from the outside (never trim the length) to fit the length of your eye. Now give the band a little wiggle. It fans out the lashes and, more importantly, gives flexibility to fit and hug your lash line.
4. APPLY MASCARA TO YOUR NATURAL LASH.
A thin coat is great. It actually pushes your lashes into place and gives you a solid base. Ideally, you should see no gaps of “light” or skin.
5. ADD THAT ADHESIVE & PUT ON THE FALSIES.
Apply adhesive on the falsies strip. Let it sit at least 30 seconds before it becomes tacky enough to stick. Then align the strip from the inside corner of your eye and begin attaching the front half, working your way to the end. (The strip should be attached to your lid/lash line, not to your lashes.)
Tip! Use the tip of the adhesive applicator to spread the adhesive around. The adhesive should be about the thickness of a small sewing needle.
6. SECURE, SECURE, SECURE.
Using a clean mascara wand or tweezers, push the strip as close to your natural lash line as possible.
7. MORE MASCARA, PLEASE!
Another coat of mascara “marries” your real lashes to the strip. If you want an even bolder look, apply another coat, emphasizing the tips.
Wanna take them off?
Put eye makeup remover on a cotton ball and hold against the lash for a few seconds until the adhesive softens. Then peel the strip, beginning from the outside corner.
LASHES FOR EVERY LOOK & MOOD
FOR A LUXE LOOK
“Velour” lashes are made with mink (although there are faux mink that look close to the real deal). They’re lush, long and make no apologies.

FOR A NATURAL VIBE
“Natural-look” or “demi wispies” lashes are made to enhance your eyes for an everyday look. They blend in seamlessly with your real lashes – adding just a bit of oomph.

“Glamour” or “studio effects” lashes have that something-is-different-about-her effect. Usually, they’re crafted with a pattern – long and short lashes, placed one after the other. Sometimes they’re crisscrossed for even more dimension.
