Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Cleansing Sponge:

I bought this because it was on sale. I feel like I get a lot more of my makeup off with this vs hands. Usually I use my Clarisonic to make sure my foundation comes off but I feel like this does just as well!

Comments about Real Techniques Miracle Cleansing Sponge:

It does an okay job. The shape isn't the most ideal for taking off my clay mask and I had a hard time scrubbing it into my skin. Personally wouldn't buy again or recommend

I bought this because it looked so cool and i thought i could put makeup on it not realizing it was for cleaning your face. i tried it and immediately my face felt brand new! i have really sensitive skin and my face felt smoothe and not irritated at all! I definitely recommend to people with sensitive skin and people who really want the dead skin on their faces to come off easily and harmlessly.

I have not bought it but how specifically are you supposed to use the sponge? Do you put facial wash on it like you would foundation? Or do you just rub it around your face?
Asked on 1/1/2018 by Lauren from USA

                  1 answer

                  • Brand Expert

                    A:

                    Hi Lauren,

Yes - you use facial wash either on the sponge or on your skin and work it into your skin, using slow, circular motions. You can use the smaller end to work those crevices around your nose, under your eyes and even near your ears (if you take your makeup out to your ears to blend like I do).

This does a great job cleansing and exfoliating at the same time. When you're done with the facial wash, you can either rinse by splashing your face with water, or wet/squeeze out the sponge and remove the wash that way.

                    Thanks!

How do you wash it after every use and let it dry?, especially when you're going to deep clean it? Is it okay to use everyday? And lastly when should it be thrown out?

                    A:

                    HI Becca,

You actually don't need to technically cleanse this sponge every day. If you're using a cleanser when prepping/washing your face, that is ok. I would recommend a deep clean every 2 weeks or so. What I do is actually have two on hand at all times. :) When one comes time to deep clean, I use the other one for two weeks, until it's time to deep clean that one. It keeps me switching off every few weeks.

If you use this every day, and clean in every 2 weeks, it should last you about 60-90 days.

                    Thanks!

                    Hi Krystal,

I deep clean my Cleansing Sponge every two weeks, which has worked well for me. I use our sister brand, EcoTools, Makeup Brush shampoo. I love the smell and the shampoo is made with less harsh ingredients than a lot of cleansers out there. You can find that shampoo here:

                    Hi Ruth,

Yes - this sponge can be used with a cleanser every day. Just make sure you squeeze all excess water out of it and store it in a cool, dry place where it can get air to help it air dry.

                    Hi Susy,

Yes - this sponge can be used every day. Keep an eye on your skin, just to be sure, but overall, if you use it gently (which most of us do), it's a great way to keep your face clean and exfoliated.

Just make sure you squeeze all excess water out of it and store it in a cool, dry place where it can get air to help it air dry.

                    Hi there,

This sponge is going to be great for overall cleansing of the skin, but may not remove blackheads the way other products (whose sole purpose is to target blackheads) may be.

It may be a good idea to talk to your dermatologist about it, though! :)

                    Hi there,

The sponge is very soft so should be good for sensitive skin, but it may be a good idea to talk to your dermatologist about it! :)

Is this sponge rough or is it like the original complexion sponge that is bouncy and soft when wet?

                    Hi there, Mariz,

This is like the original in that it is bouncy when it's wet. The surface is a bit more textured that the original Miracle Sponge, simply for the exfoliation benefits you get from it, but overall, I think it's a great way to really cleanse your face!

                    Thanks.

                    Hi Vic,

Great question! The sponge itself is textured a bit like a konjac sponge, so it does give you a nice bit of soft exfoliation during use, but the materials overall are synthetic. It does also stay a bit softer when dry than the konjac as well.

                    Thanks!
