I am so impressed and in love with this sunscreen! I gave it a shot despite there not being a ton of great reviews. What I gathered was that this gel lotion is not made for people with normal to dry skin. I am not one of those people, I have horribly oily skin on my forehead, nose, and chin. My cheeks stay more dry than these other zones, but they are not safe from Big Oil. I tend to avoid wearing sunscreen altogether because lotions always clog my pores and turn me into the greasiest, melting wax figure abomination. So, the first day I tried this, I was in love with the light, fresh aloe scent (lovely ingredient to help soothe redness). I was also so impressed with how it made my skin feel! It has been so soft and a little bit glowy even! The only issue I noticed was that I did not massage the product in all the way around my hairline and jawline, so there was a white cast around there. That just meant I needed to be more diligent and thorough with my application, and the next day I did that, I had no issues. I have been using Paula's Choice BHA serum at night and Too Cool For School Egg Cream cleanser every morning for anyone wondering. Also, I try to use this Brightturn Peeling Gel from Elizavecca Milky Piggy almost weekly. Anyway, this sunscreen added to this current routine has literally changed my skin. It has never had this type of oil control, softness, and glowiness. I do not wear any face makeup, only eyes and lips, because of how oily and clogged my pores get from products. I don't even like to put moisturizer on sometimes (I know that's bad), but this sunscreen also contains the perfect amount of moisture for my skin. I feel like this product was made specifically for me and people like me who struggle with oil, redness, and products causing breakouts. If you do not have pretty oily skin, then this product likely isn't for you in my opinion. It might be too drying for normal to dry skin!
I've really been on the search for a mineral sunscreen for my face. A lot of face sunscreens are chemical, which I prefer to avoid. But the problem is, I'm a POC and need something that won't give me a ridiculous white cast (For reference, I wear Cuzco in NARS pure radiant tinted moisturizer and 300 in Fenty Beauty). This sunscreen is mineral and a relatively low price point, which I like. But it advertises itself as a gel cream, which it is absolutely not. It gives me a minor white cast that goes away quickly, unlike some other Bare Republic products (the SPF 70 gave me a terrible white cast for more than an hour). But it also says it's moisturizing. My skin is normal to oily and I never struggle with dry patches, even in winter. But this sunscreen gets very patchy on my skin and pills too. If my skin were any drier, I think it would be a major problem. Overall, I don't mind using it for now in summer, but I would not repurchase.

I bought this spf off of a recommendation. It has a nice feel but my goodness it is hard to blend and leaves a white cast. And I can't put it on my neck because it balls up. It's an ok body spf but I don't recommend it for the face.

So I will say, this has no visible white cast (at least for my light-medium skin tone) and I have sensitive skin and this also did not break me out. The issue comes that it dries so strangely on my skin! It would cling on my dry skin throughout the day and almost turn yellow? It was very weird. I use it on my hands and body and its fine there but I will not be repurchasing it.

(Oily/combo skin) More lotion than gel. It pills if I tried to rub it in, so to apply it, I mostly dabbed/tapped it all over my face. A tiny bit of white-cast but I solved it with a little setting spray. Doesn't smell like chemicals, which is a plus. I like it enough to use the entire bottle but now it's onto the next brand to try.

I love the consistency and it is non greasy but it pulls on my face no matter how many times I shake the bottle... so disappointed and I can't return it.

This was just a NO. It feels nice but as soon as you put it on it start to peel and pile on the skin.

It's very light weight as you apply it which is nice but, throughout the day it flakes on your face.

This sunscreen did not absorb easily on me, it pilled when I tried to rub it in, and generally just felt chalky and heavy. I have normal/combo skin. I'm disappointed because it's a nice size for the price but I would not purchase again.

This didn't feel like a gel spf. Was thick and much more creamy. I didn't find that i could spread it into my skin easily.

Love this stuff! Goes on smooth not thick and sticky. Smells great too!

I got this for free from Influenster, I love how easy it is to apply, and how it doesn't leave a white residue on the skin, i use it under my makeup and it works perfectly fine, i just wish it would have a higher SPF and also that it would last longer, since i wear it under makeup, i wouldn't be reapplying it every 40 minutes, so it makes me scared that my skin wont be protected. But if you are using it just to go to the pool then i think its good.

I'm so excited about this sunscreen. The blue color took me off guard at first but I didn't end up liking like a smurfs. It has a nice matte finish and doesn't feel heavy or clog my pores. I will take it to the beach next weekend and I'm sure it will be great there as well. I was looking for non- nano reef safe sunscreen and this was very economical for the value. Made my 47 yo face look good!

I always use mineral sunscreen but I tend to get the white cast from it. I thought this would be better for the face since it's a "gel lotion" I figured it would blend in better but it's kind of dry. It blended okay but the product balled up and flaked off a bit as I was applying. On a positive note it felt like I had nothing on my face and didn't make me break out at all.

I love the application, consistency, and the outcome of this product especially since it is my face. Used it every time I am outside and I have yet to be burned on my face- which is really important for me since I'm at the age where I'm starting to get wrinkles AND skin damage it's starting to show itself. I am literally applying it now because I'm about to go mow! I trust this product.

Okay this product actually sucks. I'm not picky... at all. I just want my sunscreen to protect my face. But how can it stay on my face when as soon as I rub it in it balls up immediately? I really don't see how this works for anyone.

I like how it was not greasy and a little bit went a long way

This stuff smells great and doesn't leave you greasy. It does pill up on me almost every time so you have to shake the bottle extremely well. It also left some white cast on me and I'm pale.

I love this product! I received it for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I like that the color of it lets me see where I'm applying and it works really well at the beach even after hours of direct sun you just have to be sure to reapply regularly.

This did not rub in that well, left a film on my skin and kind of pilled up while rubbing in. Once I got in water it seemed to just rub off. Only positive is that it's reef-friendly

I was given this product free to review. I really enjoyed the Face Sunscreen by Bare Republic. It is a great texture on its own and under makeup. No pilling and non greasy!

The best thing about this gel formula is that it's not at all sticky. I can wear it under makeup because it feels like nothing. The application has been super smooth due to the gel form. Literally no stickiness at all. I love that part the most. It's super lightweight too.

This product is very clean and smells great, but I'm disappointed, bc this product leaves a white film to the skin. I won't repurchase

I honestly had a hard time rubbing this all over my skin because it seemed so dry. I had to mix it with another lotion in order for it to spread all around

Fantastic face sunscreen. It is super lightweight, goes on really easy and doesn't leave any sticky or greasy feeling behind. I love that it's safe to use in the ocean. Amazing consistency and overall awesome product.

I received this product for free to test and review. I like that this sunscreen is free of chemicals. It felt a little drying to my skin. I have combo skin (normal/dry) and found the texture to be a little drying. Goes on thick and takes a while to rub in. Left a little bit of a white/blue haze. I did NOT get burned!
