Most Helpful Positive Review WOW! IMPRESSIVE!
Wow! I'm really BLOWN AWAY! When this type of eye brow marker pen was first introduced a few years back it looked good but after a few strokes it was as if the pen was dried out. was not impressed but it did feel it was a very good concept. Since then I used a micro brow pencil from a high end brand (starts with a B) however although the micro pencil from B looked great, it took time to get those nice strokes and also my brows would smudge if I dare rub my brow or if my hair rubs against it. Well I saw this at Ulta and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I LOVE IT! I have black hair and used the Dark Brunette color. The tip is wet and seems to have the ink absorbed into it. The tip feels like a firm sponge. It is cut into an angle like a blade with short cuts in it that mimics the hair strokes. The ink is fluid and goes on shiney but dries matte. I tried it alone without a pencil and for me it looks a bit harsh and too heavy. however if I use my micro brow pencil from B to outline the bottom of my eye brow and also the arch area and then use the Loreal micro ink pen to do the hair strokes it looks very nice! you do have to use a LIGHT HAND and use LIGHT FEATHERY STROKES to get the best result. for me I actually use my right hand to do the strokes but use my left hand to support my right arm. it helps me have more control. I know, weird but it works for me. I like this micro pen alot! I feel more confident now with the overall look and the overall staying power. It is long lasting on the skin. I literally have maybe 15 natural hairs on my right brow and about 10 natural hairs on my left brow. For me to have this Loreal Mirco Ink Pen has made me the BEST looking "natural" brow as possible out of all that I used. Again I do use the Mirco pencil from B fornthe outline and use the Loreal mirco ink pen for mimicking the hair strokes and I love the look. I will not go without this! I just hope 1 pen last for at least 1 month. It is too early to tell since I just purchased it.
Most Helpful Critical Review Brows only an Artist would love
So, you know when you see someone that looks like they were painting a canvas with brown acrylic paint, got some on their hands, and then proceeded to wipe the sweat from their brows? You know, managing to get the paint on their face...or more specifically, their eyebrows. And when you look at them, you wonder if you should tell them, because you're not sure they are aware; you're also not sure if it is intentional, so you move along your way, ignoring it entirely.
Well, this Micro Ink Pen from L'Oreal Paris goes on and looks similar to that. It's not "hairlike," but rather thick and "painted". You can definitely tell that you have drawn in your brows with this pen. Perhaps, with a little more practice and awareness of the pen and its application, you could achieve the "hairlike" look. I am still playing around with it, so I can not commit to it being hairlike or not. I have not, however, achieved that look; I have, on the other hand, mastered the above described look without ever touching paint or a canvas.
I will say that it matches wonderfully. I also like how it glides on—doesn't need forced. And for the most part, it stays put throughout the day. Again, you have to practice applying it, because you can easily use too much, which then can accidentally be rubbed/smeared. I also like that it is easily removed with makeup cleanser.
While I see some downfalls in this pen, I am still on the fence. I feel like there is a possibility that it can achieve the look I am going for...however, it feels like a lot of time and practice is needed to get there.
I guess time will tell. For now, I'm split on my final verdict of L'Oreal's micro ink pen for brows.

I purchased the L'Oreal micro pen along with the Maybelline pen that is similar so that I could try both and pick which one worked best. I have Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disease causing hair loss which includes losing your eyebrows and even your eyelashes. I have had a difficult time since losing my eyebrows completely in the past few months, drawing in my eyebrows. They often looked smudged or just "plastered" on when using usual eyebrow stencils and eyebrow powder or pencils. The Maybelline pen did not yield much coverage. It almost felt like the pen didn't have enough ink/color in it.
The L'Oreal pen is spectacular. For starters it has 4 prongs. It truly draws on and looks like you have actual eyebrow hair; looks natural. When I first put it on my sister thought I had bought and put on fake eyebrows. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this product. I will be purchasing more so I am in good supply. Kudos to L'Oreal. I will let my fellow Alopecian sisters know about his product. I hope L'Oreal NEVER discontinues this line.
The L'Oreal micro ink pen did not impress me none it doesn't

I have a decent amount of brows with just some sparce areas. this is great for a quick fill in. it has a learning curve at first but after getting the hang of it, I love it.
Its pretty good, but could use improvements

I am getting better at using this, however they could have made it go on over foundation, it only works on dry skin and the tip is soft, should be harder and crisp, if you go very light at a certain angle you get lines, but otherwise it smudges

I have struggled to find a brow product This one is by far the best I've tried
Brunette turns RED
CLL from Chicago
this product would be decent except the color is so off. I read other reviews that had this issue. The brunette goes very auburn.
It turned Red
dani from California
I got one of the brunette shades and wore it out for a few hours. Once applied, it looked normal and it was easy to use. After a few hours passed by, I looked in the mirror and my brows were RED. Like auburn. Never using again
Was way better than I expected

This is a great product, easy to use, natural looking result or you could go dramatic. I just wish there were a few more colors.
Rachel from ohio
The product does not come out properly and doesn't distribute evenly, u have to make it work. However, I couldn't be happier with the longevity of this product. I went kayaking in a rainstorm with my brows filled in and I looked like I just got out of the shower, but my brows were still intact!
Not for me
AshleyB from Indiana
If you want big, marker like strokes— then this is for you. The color was great, very pigmented, and staying power is excellent. But it looks like I took a fine pointed sharpie to my brows. If L'Oréal comes out with a much more finely tipped brow pen that allows me to make actual hairlike strokes, I would be very interested. This gives far too much of a bold look for my liking. There's no way I could get a natural look using this product.

I was not happy with this product. I was looking for something similar to the TatBrow pen that is all over Facebook, but cheaper. I did not like the way the tip of the pencil applied the liquid. It was too much and the way it is cut is too clumpy. I threw it away after one try.
Not sure if I'll purchase again

Was bought to fill in my eyebrows. As I said, too much product came out of the pen and just made a blob.
I would buy this product again

It takes some Practice to have it look just right

I normally use a brow retractable pencil. i ran out and i wanted to save a few bucks and try something new. Waste of money. Too oily for my already oily skin. Was disappointed.
Not that great
Dee from South Carolina
I have to agree with other reviewer's that said that this is more like a sharpie pen for the eyebrows. I tried it out on my hand first and then a napkin. At first it went on thick and there were no hair like brushstrokes. You have to use a really light hand and do it just so to get any type of brush strokes. The little prongs on the pen tip are just too thick to create the right effect. It takes a lot of practice to get it to look right on the brow as well. Way too much trouble and too difficult despite how it's advertised to work.I will just stick to my L'Oreal brow pomade. I won't purchase this again.

Product creates lines that are too thick and and do not look natural

Not a great product, I prefer other products that actually do the job correctly. This is like a marker for your eyebrows that doesn't make hair like strokes.
StephWebb99 from Warrington, PA
I did not like this product at all. It's sharp angle makes it hard to use and the hairlike strokes it creates are very thick and look super unrealistic. The color also comes off very warm and makes it all look even more fake.
You have to angle it a bit when applying!
Miaaaabadeer from CA
I love this brow pencil! Ive been using it daily for 3 weeks now and still have color pay off ONLY due to the fact that I literally have to leave it upside down then when applying it at an angle. And shake it like crazy if I have to lol. I think this product works best if you already have a lot of eyebrow hairs already too. Seems like a lot of work but I personal love how natural my brows look with the Brow Pen!
I love this pen I don't think I could live without it
