Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I bought this cleaner because I have a large collection of brushes and the size was the only bottle at Ulta that didn't make me nervous about not having enough. I had tried the solid balm brush cleanser from the same brand and it worked fine to spot clean my beauty blenders but left a little oil on my brushes so I decided to go with this bottle. Biggest waste of money ever. First of all, I have the sigma brush cleaning mat and this has never happened with any other cleaner, it turned my makeup in my brushes into a paste and I couldn't even get it out of my brush or off of the mat. After doing 2-3 washes and rinses per brush, l towel dried them and then let them air dry. I immediately noticed the smell had changed from a nice lemony smell to this nasty moldy smell that WILL NOT COME OUT OF MY BRUSHES. after they dried completely I looked at them and my brushes were just completely covered in grease. The majority of my eye brushes were fine with the exception of blending brushes or anything really dense. My face brushes weren't even holding their normal shape because they were so oily. Its disgusting. I went out and purchased the beauty blender brand solid cleanser and it got all the oil and grease out but the smell still won't leave. I'm extra annoyed.

      I use this everyday!

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I love this brush cleanser! It smells like oranges and cleans your brushes without any residue and you don't have to wait for your brushes to dry before using them! This is great for us girls that need to clean our brushes on the go or don't have time to wash them with water. So quick and easy and I love the fact that you can get a huge refill bottle and it lasts forever!

You Need This in Your Life!

      By Shelby

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I tried this on a whim a couple of years ago, looking for a cleanser that I didn't need to use water and wait for my brushes to dry. This is so good! The fragrance is pretty strong so if you're sensitive to fragrances, I might steer away from this. I love I though. This is great for in-between-shadow brush cleaning. I also use this for those brushes that get beat to heck with blush and bronzer and it does so well. I continue to repurchase this over and over and nothing beats it! Also for those saying it gets oily, it's actually oil free but there can be residue left over, all I do to fix that is continue to swirl the brush on an absorbent surface like a paper towel or bath towel and that fixes it.

I will never buy this oily cleaner again

      By Kimmy5

      from Spring,TX

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

First of all it is way too oily, takes forever for my brushes to dry and they stay oily feeling until I wash them. Secondly, you have to spray more of this product to actually get your brushes clean, so I went through it faster than other cleaners I've used before. Save yourself some money and just don't buy it!

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I bought this to spot clean my brushes, I have used the none spray version of this cleaner and too deep clean, my brushes and left a very oily residue which made it harder to apply make up the next time. Also, i accidentally dripped my brush to deep and it broke down the glue and ruined my brush.
However the other day I accidentally got acrylic paint on my hoodie and did not notice until after it had dried. Today I was trying different things to try and remove the paint. This thing removed all the paint! It was the only thing I tried that worked.

I bought this product several months ago and just used it today. Let's start with the positives - it smells nice. The citrus scent will give your brushes a nice smell. Ok on to the negatives - this does not work at all. I could still feel the makeup residue on my brushes after using several applications. The makeup in my foundation brush was actually clumping up instead of coming out...pretty gross. I used a quarter of the bottle on one brush...that's not normal. I will be going back to the Ulta brand - it actually works well!

I absolutely despise this product. It doesn't work cleaning my brushes, it looks like it does and then there's makeup all up in the inside of them. Even after waiting two days to dry, my brushes feel greasy when I apply my makeup. I have naturally oily skin, so I definitely don't need more of that in my life. I would never recommend this product to anyone. I use the Clinique brush cleanser and I'm very satisfied with it.

Is this a quick clean brush cleanser where you just spray and wipe it on a cloth or do you have to lather it and rinse it with water then let the brushes dry for a day?

We have multiple different choices in brush cleansers. If you're looking for a quick dry, try our Japonesque Waterless Brush Cleanser that dries in seconds. Or our Powder Color Change.
Our Solid Brush Cleansers, Liquid Brush Cleansers and Shampoo are for deep cleansing that do require water and dry time.

Is this brush cleanser unscented? I tried the rosewater scent but it made my eyes itch and water just by placing the brush cleansed with the rosewater scent on my face. I really would like to find a brush cleanser that is less expensive but works as well as IT cosmetics brush cleanser.
