Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I bought this product several months ago and just used it today. Let's start with the positives - it smells nice. The citrus scent will give your brushes a nice smell. Ok on to the negatives - this does not work at all. I could still feel the makeup residue on my brushes after using several applications. The makeup in my foundation brush was actually clumping up instead of coming out...pretty gross. I used a quarter of the bottle on one brush...that's not normal. I will be going back to the Ulta brand - it actually works well!

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

I absolutely despise this product. It doesn't work cleaning my brushes, it looks like it does and then there's makeup all up in the inside of them. Even after waiting two days to dry, my brushes feel greasy when I apply my makeup. I have naturally oily skin, so I definitely don't need more of that in my life. I would never recommend this product to anyone. I use the Clinique brush cleanser and I'm very satisfied with it.

This works really well to clean my brushes on a daily basis! I put it into a small squirt bottle and it works great on removing everything from my foundation brush to my eye-shadow brushes!

It cleans my brushes pretty well but I still recommend a good soapy cleanser to get rid of all the makeup.

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

This product is great for cleaning brushes and beauty blenders, as well as for removing product from the back of your hand after you're done doing your make-up. I love the citrus smell, its really nice and not overpowering. The only complaint I would have is that I travel a lot and the product does have a tendency to leak some during travel if its not upright.

Comments about Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser:

This is my first spray brush cleanser and I love it, works fantastic and now brush cleaning isn't such a chore.

With my eye brushes I use it the way the Ulta employee showed me to use the IT one. spray it on a tissue and rub the brush on the tissue until it's completely clean. But for fluffy, dense, or brushes with caked on product I spray a half directly on the brush and half on a tissue. It's cleaned off powder, cream, thick liquid foundation and caked on eyeshadow primer. And my brushes look great and feel very soft. It does have oils in it to condition the brushes but I've only had brushes get oily if I use to much product. However the oiliness wipes right off just like the product you've been cleaning off swirl your brush on a dry tissue until the oils are gone and it's just clean tissue.

The only issue I have with it is the strong smell. I like clementines to eat but I cannot describe how strong or long lasting this smell is but I can live with a strong citrus smell for a good and fast brush cleaner

This stuff smells STRONG of citrus, and the smell floats around my bathroom and into my other rooms. Yuck! But, the product does soften the bristles of my brush.

Is this a quick clean brush cleanser where you just spray and wipe it on a cloth or do you have to lather it and rinse it with water then let the brushes dry for a day?

We have multiple different choices in brush cleansers. If you're looking for a quick dry, try our Japonesque Waterless Brush Cleanser that dries in seconds. Or our Powder Color Change.
Our Solid Brush Cleansers, Liquid Brush Cleansers and Shampoo are for deep cleansing that do require water and dry time.

Is this brush cleanser unscented? I tried the rosewater scent but it made my eyes itch and water just by placing the brush cleansed with the rosewater scent on my face. I really would like to find a brush cleanser that is less expensive but works as well as IT cosmetics brush cleanser.
