Most Helpful Positive Review I love these so much!
So let me start this review by admitting I am NOT a makeup guru. I am still learning a lot of the new makeup trends and relearning a lot of techniques. I'm also in my 40s so I'm starting to witness a lot of the aging process. I have never had very full eyelashes and allergies have prevented me from using any type of adhesive application. Enter magnetic eyelashes. I was sceptical at first, because a lot of the reviews seemed really negative. My desperation for eyelashes eventually overruled my doubt and I ordered these. They are WONDERFUL. I apply my eye primer, do my shadow, eye liner and mascara just like I always have. Once that is all finished, I apply 2 layers of the eyeliner over what is already there. Give these about a minute to dry in between and make sure to get it in the corner. The eyelash magnets are strong enough that you can feel them grab in the corner and they just snap in across. I have worn these ALL day with no issues at all. Honestly they are so light and after about 5 minutes I don't even notice them. Clean up is easy. I guess the primer helps a lot, because I have had no issues removing the eyeliner at night. I would highly recommend these if you are on the fence.
Most Helpful Critical Review Smudges Terribly. Gel Too Thick
I chose the Ardell, because it had higher reviews than the other product offered at Ulta. I had mixed results. First, let me say, that you need to start with very clean skin. An Eyelid primer is helpful, especially if you have oily eyelids, as I do.
I read through the product information before attempting to use it. I'm a veteran of magnetic lashes. I like them, but find them heavy, because of the upper and lower lashes required for use, so I was really excited to read about magnetic eyeliner, and was anxious to try it.
I had problems with the gel pot of eyeliner. This eyeliner isn't your typical gel liner; it's very VERY thick and goopy. It dries quickly, which can be good or bad. My problem was that, even with my own thin brush, this stuff is so thick that it's impossible to get a nice, thin, controlled line. I'm not a neophyte. I know how to apply eyeliner. But the Ardell gel liner is just too thick to really control. I wiped the brush to remove excess before getting more out of the pot, because it actually balled up on the tip of the applicator.
I allowed the liner to dry before applying the second coat. You'd think as thick as this liner is, one coat would be sufficient, but no. 2 coats are mandatory. Trying to keep a decent line was tough while applying coat 2. The liner easily transfers to places where you don't want it.
The good news is that with 2 coats of the liner, the lashes adhere well and look good. They'd look better if I could have made a thinner line. The lashline is rather stiff, so you may have to gently bend them before applying them, to get them to conform. I would have rather have seen 5 magnets instead of 4.
Unfortunately, even with primer and proper drying, the eyeliner smudged and I mean SMUDGED! I wear tube mascara, so I never see black smudging under my eyes. This stuff was under my eyes, as well as in the corners. I cleaned it several times. Plus, it lifts with the lashes.

make sure the liner drys all the way down before putting on the lashes. And you do need two coats!!!

I normally wear lash extensions put on by lash technician. My lash tech had emergency surgery and had to cancel my appointment. I researched info regarding magnetic lashes and decided to give the Ardell kit a try. I applied the magnetic eyeliner in two coats on upper eyelid and let dry. I then applied the lashes with my fingers. Wala! The lashes attached easily to the liner and remained in place all day until I removed them that evening. I am now considering using this product instead of extensions. The extensions fall out and cost anywhere from $150 to $130 per month and your natural lashes thin.
I fell in love with lashes thanks to this

I used them for a photo shoot in a windy place and they resisted the strong wind and that's a big one for me :)
Meg from Philadelphia
I loved the idea of this project but the magnetic application is tough to put on. the brush that they give you smudges easily and rubs other application you just put on. it's just hard to work with.
Terrible eyeliner 0/10 do not recommend
Cat mom from Saginaw, MI
The eyeliner is dryer than the Sahara. And the lashes have bulky magnets so it's super hard to cut them down to fit your eye shape.
Love these lashes for everyday but eyeliner is a big no!

Love the lashes in general but I have to use other magnetic eyeliner to make sure they stay all day in order to not have to reapply them. Wish they would sell the lashes separately like other companies.
Hard to use but works.

It's a cool product with potential but it lacks. The brush included is cheap and you're better off buying one that works. The liner is gel and stays on well but it takes 3 times before the magnet stays. I had to use vaseline to remove the liner because water and soap didn't work. I gave the product four stars because it does work but it takes too long and I ain't got time for that.
Not worth it
Ajaaay from California
The liner was hard to get on. You had to use quite a bit. One side of the lash wouldn't stick. I ended up using regular lash glue.
Great Buy! A Must Have! Way better than glue and look great!
Maddie from Michigan
Honestly I was super skeptical at first, and I am not one to write a review, but every woman can benefit from these over the glue ones. I've always loved lashes but hate the glue part (messes up my makeup to often). I have worn these a lot now and will never go back. Last a full work day and happy hour (I walked in the wind outside for a few blocks and didn't even flinch). The eyeliner was way better quality that I thought and looked natural. Over if you are thinking about giving it a try! Do it!
Super thick & messy liner
Mrs.M from Las Vegas
I would NOT buy this product again.
The liner is thick/tacky and makes application fairly difficult. The lashes do not stay down very well.
I would rather just use the old glue method and know my lashes aren't going fall of in the middle of a conversation.

Hard to put magnetic liner on then the eyelashes were hard to make stick to the liner

They don't really have any grip & are very tricky to get them set close so you have this awkward gap.
Just practice, practice, practice and use traditional glue lashes these are super blah.
Trish from Atlanta
They lasted a couple of hrs before falling off, not a pretty sight
I would use this again
Kaai from Murfreesboro
There is no mess with this product
I would not buy this product again

I tried applying these lashes, it was a hot mess. I had the eyeliner all over my eye area.
Easy to use

These magnetic lashes are great for the price. No problem using the liner or putting them on. I've worn them 3 times so far. One time I worked out in them. One side came lifted and would go back down. Another time I was in a pool and they got wet. Started to lift as well...even though they say waterproof. I don't think they are. I feel like the liner container starts to thicken a little after being opened and used multiple times.
With all that being said, I still like them for the price.

Not sure if it's the liner or magnets that suck. The liner is too thick and does not apply smoothly. If it gets on your lashes, then it does damage them. They fall off easy and keep unsticking. I even cut them in half to see if that works. Nope.

the lashes stay on surprisingly well, but you definitely need to use another eyeliner and then put the magnetic one over it. it's too dry, sticky, and tacky to wear on its own. it's the consistency of an old mascara and tugs on the skin as you apply it. i had better luck pressing it on with a different brush than the one provided than trying to conventionally draw a line. i also had better luck with the eyeliner at the bottom of the pot, which makes me wonder if i just got an old one. either way, this method is infinitely more comfortable than lash glue and therefore worth the extra bit of finesse in my opinion.
Absolutely not worth what little it's costs

Had a lot higher hopes for this product. It's truly just nothing magnetized enough for the product to work effectively. A one-of-a-kind idea, just executed so poorly. Spent multiple hours fiddling with this, and although it set correctly and comfortably, it was only once every 1,000 attempts per eye. Another glaring problem was that it actually seems my natural lashes are apparently fuller and longer than the falsies! Had to add several pair before it looked dramatic enough to justify all the effort. On top of all that, if you're thinking this is a good substitute for glue bc the eyeliner "won't budge", you're only half right. I was, at least lol! The eyeliner itself (although not my usual sharp liquid liner) applied fairly easily without clumping or real messiness. However, the magnet on the band of the lash can definitely strip the eyeliner right off your eye (not painful). Not so much "naked spots" on the eyeliner, but With each adjustment of the lash, magnetic residue from the liner stuck on the lash magnet decreases the strength of the magnet.
I just really wanted these to work. Didn't want to write a "scathing review" or anything, but felt some other comments hyped the product a lil too much. Idk, maybe I've just got bad luck!
Fantastic!!! They look amazing AND SO EASY to apply
SJ from BC, Canada
They stick to the magnetic eyeliner that comes with them. Super easy to apply! And.....no damage to the lash from glue/chemicals. LOVE them! I am a lifer now.
This did not work for me.
Ginni from Los Alamitos CA
Liner too thick, does not wash off easily, irritated/dried out my lids

Having never used fake lashes these magnetic ones are priced right and very easy to apply
not the strongest
shelbie from Michigan
the lashes are great natural everyday lashes but the liner is not like some others it's pretty weak. but for sure if you want to know if you will like magnet lashes and liner then go for it. its worth the price.
changed my life!!!

it really works, if u read the reviews and do it right. #1. not for people who only like a thin line of eyeliner. u need 2 thick coats of it, like directions say. #2. I put on my primer, eyeshadow, AND normal eyeliner, THEN did 2 coats of the magnetic eyeliner by my lashes, cuz it's kind of clumpy. plus this way saves the product. #3. think about where u want them, cant pick up and move! mine snapped on immediately. tested with fan in my face, no issues. took a short nap, no issues. I LOVE them! u will need an oil based make up remover to get the liner off, but not too surprised by that.

The "magnetic" liner applies very thick and not smooth. Lashes look decent so maybe if you have different glue to apply them they might work.
