Most Helpful Positive Review CAUTIONARY WARNING! This is great stuff so long as you DO NOT HEAT STYLE!! Any products containing glycerin will burn your hair after using a curling or straightening iron. Never heat style while after using glycerin product in your hair! Yes shampoo included ( i know you rinse it out but a little remains even with regular shampoos and alot remains with these type of sulfate free 'poos).
**Aside from that YES this is a Great Product.**
I personally cant use this because i already damaged my hair using it and doing curling iron touch ups afterwards. This entire brand has glycerin in it. Its the reason you will not find a thermal protectant in their line (i'm assuming). But its pretty good guess if you ask me.
i now use two products from a curly brand starting with O and am loving it. Btw check EVERY product label thoroughly for glycerin before using, no matter what brand if you plan to heat style.
Most Helpful Critical Review New formula - absolutely RUINED it! I used to LOVE, absolutely ADORE low poo! Unfortunately, Deva decided to change the formulation and whatever they've done has absolutely RUINED it!!!!!!!
I was using a bottle that was purchased in October (from Ulta) and it was WONDERFUL - left my 3c corkscrews so soft, elastic and bouncy with absolutely no frizz! I just got a new bottle for Christmas and couldn't believe what came out of the bottle. It looked and smelled the same but it barely lathered (I had to use a lot more) and left my hair hard, dry, knotted and frizzy (after conditioning and styling/drying). I was so taken aback! I then used the very last dregs I could squeeze out of a travel bottle that I had previously filled from my old bottle of low poo and, ta-da! - bouncy, soft, elastic curls, so it wasn't just my imagination!
I even RETURNED and exchanged the new bottle thinking maybe I somehow got an adulterated batch, but no luck! My sister even tried a THIRD new bottle and she had the same result as me - hard, knotty, straw-like hair - the complete opposite of our results with previous bottles of low-poo.
DEVA - I have no idea WHAT you have done to the low-poo, but you have completely destroyed the best cleansing product my hair had EVER seen! I so wish I had stocked up on big bottles of it this past summer, but of course I couldn't have anticipated this.
What a huge disappointment. I will never buy this again. This new formulation is HORRIBLE. Absolute junk. Looks like my search begins again for a 'curly girl' cleanser that will give me good results.

These products are all great because I've used them all before...but...as for this shipment...I still don't have it! My order was placed in late December and shipped out on the 30th. It went from Tx to Indiana, to Muskegon, Mi, to Grand Haven (where I live), then back to Muskegon and then to Pennsylvania. To say I'm upset would be an understatement!

this product made me aquire bald spots and it weighed everything down. i have never had hair loss or bald spots for the 21 years ive been alive but hey if you like the whole "looking 70" look with some sweet bald patches, this is for sure the product for you. expensive stuff isn't worth the hype when it comes to curly hair.
Made my hair fall out! 1

I'm trying to do the "curly girl method" so I bought the Devacurl low poo and daily conditioner.... I've used the products for 3 weeks and since I started using them my frizz has been crazy and my hair literally falls out in clumps!! This is such a disappointment considering how much I love my Devacurl blow dryer.

I've been using Devacurl for almost 3 years. I started noticing hair loss and my curl definition went wonky. I didn't attribute it to Devacurl until I came on here to repurchase. I just happened to look at the reviews and noticed a ton of bad reviews recently. I'm sooo glad I looked. YouTube has a ton of videos about Devacurl ruining people's hair. I'm trying Curl Smith in hopes it can fix the damage done.

Multi year DevaCurl girl- not any more 1

I have been a long time loyal deva curl Customer, but something has changed. Either in the formula or storing these products and they are not the same. My scalp itches my hair is falling out and the consistency of the product is not the same that it used to be. I ended up returning these products and starting over on my curly girl search. : (
Damaged Hair, buyer beware 1

I have been using devacurl products exclusively for two months now. I noticed my hair was getting very dry and coarse but I was attributing this to the hair curling wand I recently got even though I had only used it to style my hair about 4 times and I used a heat protectant when I did. I realized it was the devacurl after reading all the reviews and reports online. My scalp has also been very itchy and dry lately, again I was attributing this to the harsh Wisconsin winter but I realize the problem started with devacurl. I luckily stopped using it before I experienced the amount of hair loss other women have, but I have a lot of baby hairs now that I didnt have before. I'll have to find a treatment for my hair to fix the damage devacurl has done. I'm not sure what has happened to the company, I used there products years ago and didn't have a problem but after this recent experience I will never buy it again.
Something Has Changed... 2

I used to love, love, love Deva Curl. Due to the price point, it was something I loved to treat myself to, and it did work well on my hair for awhile. However, I purchased the low-poo and one condition during Black Friday, and have been very disappointed. I kept having repeat bad hair days. My curls wouldn't hold, frizz up, and fall flat. My hair ended up in a bun most days. I thought it was just me, that I was doing something wrong, and then I started seeing a pattern. MANY people have been having similar or much worse issues when using these products. I returned both items and don't think I'll be going back to DevaCurl unless some serious changes are made.

I have curly hair and have heard this story from multiple other women. I used the shampoo and conditioner and my scalp has never been more irritated in my life. It burns because I have been itching it so much and my hair has been falling out significantly more than usual. DO NOT USE DEVACURL IT WILL RUIN YOUR HAIR. look at all of the videos on YouTube of girls who have had their hair ruined!!!
Made my hair fall out, caused significant damage 1
EricaB from Huntsville, AL
I started using devacurl products in early 2019, and from the very beginning the low poo was in my routine. It honestly never made my hair look good but I thought this was just the adjustment period or maybe I was putting products on incorrectly or something. Within a month or so I started noticing significant hair loss. I'm talking a palm sized amount of hair in every single shower. I also noticed my hair just started looking more damaged and less curly, more frizzy. It just looked bad. Eventually I had to have it cut from bra strap length to shoulder length because my hair got so thin it was stringy and gross looking long. I had my hair cut at a Deva certified salon and they also used devacurl products on my hair. I told them about the hair loss but I thought it was hormonal. At this point I never once question that it might be devacurl, because devacurl is supposed to be the best of the best. So I kept using their products. In december 2019 I bought a replacement bottle of two products, the low poo and the light defining gel. At this point I noticed my scalp was just really itchy and it burned. After a couple weeks I noticed I was getting lots of dandruff that didn't go away with clarifying with sulfate free shampoo, and red tiny bumps on my scalp started to pop up. Then about a week ago a girl I follow on YouTube told about her experience and how devacurl products ruined her hair. She was exclusively using devacurl too and her hair looked just like mine. I realized at this point that obviously it was these products! I stopped using them immediately and washed them all out of my hair. Since removing the devacurl products my scalp feels better and looks better, but my hair is so thin you can see my scalp. Specifically mostly in the area of my hairline and around my ear/temple area. It will take probably years to repair the damage these products have done to my hair. Do yourself a favor and don't buy them and if you own them, stop using them immediately!

This product, along with one condition delight, caused breakage, hair loss, dandruff, itchy scalp, and curl pattern loss. After discontinuing use of DevaCurl two weeks ago, I have seen significantly less hair loss and no dandruff. Unfortunately, my hair is still breaking off and the damage can not be repaired. I will never use this line of products again.
MY FAVORITE PRODUCT 5
Gretch2003 from New Mexico
I absolutely love Deva Curl products. My hair is so healthy and beautiful. I have wavy curls, so I go back and forth between wearing it curly or straightening it. I use Deva Curl original low-poo for both straight and curly. Bonus, it smells amazing too. The only con I have about this product is that it take a few weeks for your hair to get use to it. I always warn people that they will have greasy hair for a 2-3 weeks because your natural hair oils have to balance out. Once they do, it's SO worth it!! Try it for 6 months and you will never want to change shampoos again!!!!
DO NOT PUT ON YOUR BEAUTIFULLY DIED HAIR! 1

So I have wavy to curly hair and usually wear it straight, but sometimes I like to wear it natural. I went to Ulta, they recommended this line and so did online reviews, so I bought it. HUGE MISTAKE! Every 6 to 7 weeks I get a color touch up on my hair, my colorist adds both a chocolate brown as well as highlight for contrast. First time I used this product I was about 3 weeks away from color touch up, noticed my dark hair lighted up, but didn't attribute it to devacurl no-poo. Used again 1more time following week dark hair lifted again?! When I went to have my hair done my colorist was asking???!!! What happened to your color ?? It's so faded??!! At that time I wasn't sure what the problem was. So, after 4 hours in the chair, my beautiful color was restored and all was good. Two weeks later I decide to go curly for the weekend so pull out my deva curl product ..Use the no poo wash, conditioner, styler cream and light gel all this line and....
BLAM My color is color if faded again!!!
My poor hair!!! Plus I just spent $150 having the color corrected 2weeks ago!
Oh and BTW this stuff left my hair looking like a huge puff ball. No curl no moisture just a a mess!
I used no heat, no other products, washed hair with bottled water like I always do and deva curl trashed my color and delivered No curls.

I've only used it three times so far but my hair is so soft and shiny. My hair looks healthier and The product makes your hair not look dry. Going to get the conditioner soon.
Very Disappointed 1
Dana L from Orlando, FL
I used the low poo, One Conditioner, and many of the stylers for a year and had the best hair days of my life. The last time I bought the products, I had a bad reaction to them. My hair became very dry and stopped curling. My scalp was itchy and started breaking out. I noticed an immediate difference in my hair and scalp once I changed brands. Something in the product has changed and I won't be using any DevaCurl products unless they go back to the original quality.
It's just okay so far. 3

My hair is falling out in clumps!! 1
Sara from Dallas, TX
Omg! My hair is literally falling out in clumps. I have bald spots!!! I read the curly girl handbook and thought to give deva curl a try. I was really satisfied with it at first but after two weeks my hair started falling out even more. I thought maybe it was stress related but I wasn't really stressed. Week four I had bald spots and I could literally pull clumps of hair from my head. I'm devastated. I returned both the low poo and the one condition. Trying it's a 10 next since I've had success with that in the past. I really gave deva curl the benefit of the doubt at first but now it's just obvious. Deva curl makes my hair fall out. I'm so heartbroken. My poor hair!! Can't evn wear a pony tail or bun without people seeing my bald spots.
Buyer Beware if you want to be bald! 1
Kaitlin from Lakeland, Florida
Hi so I bought this product two weeks ago. I usually flat ironed my hair at least 4x per week. I had wanted to go natural. I saw these products and decided let me give them a try. I loved how my hair came out. I started to notice my hair falling out in clumps every time I showered or brushed my hair. It was so concerning my mom even said something about my hair looking very thin. The other day I pulled up my hair and noticed even more bald spots. This is the only thing I changed in my hair routine. I am returning tomorrow and will NEVER buy this product again! I am insanely angry. I now have bald spot which I never had before!
Destroyed my healthy beautiful hair 1
Kat from Orlando Fl
I used this product for over year and my hair flourished! My hair wasn't dyed and I never used heat. I repurchased in May and my hair got destroyed! It was no longer retaining moisture, started breaking, and shedding more than usual. I miss my old hair and now I'm stuck with frizzy hair that doesn't look decent after day 2. It's getting better but I wish this would have never happened in the first place.
I will not purchase again. 1

It smells good, but too much for me to have on my hair every day. Also, I just saw that this product has damaged and caused hair to fall out and I'm not willing to risk it.
Incredible Curly Hair Cleanser 5
Alison from Overland Park, KS
I use this every wash day and I don't have enough good things to say about this product except that it's amazing. When I started using the curly girl method two years ago, I was using no poo and it weighed my hair down so much and made it feel greasy. Thank goodness I gave low poo a try because I'm IN LOVE with it. I love that it lathers, doesn't weigh down my hair, and I can feel that it's actually cleansing my hair. If you are just starting the curly girl method, I recommend low poo.
The Best DevaCurl Product 5
Lalaloo from OH
I use a mix of the DevaCurl products- spending time between the original and Decadence lines. The original is great, but when I need the protein, I use the Decadence conditioner. Anywho, I always used the original no poo, because it was part of the sets. I often felt it just didn't clean my hair quite enough, so I saw higher reviews for this one and gave this a try. It's amazing! Moisturizing as heck without stripping, makes my hair feel super clean, and smells incredible. I tried the Delight version, as I need a travel bottle- not anywhere close to this one. After trying this one, I will never use anything else. Highly recommend!!!
