Most Helpful Positive Review Lightweight and hot enough without being damaging I spent a long time researching blowdryers after going through 2 Babyliss Dryers in the last year. I used to believe a high-end blowdryer was not worth the money but have definitely changed my mind. Although I loved my first Babyliss because it got really hot, it sparked at me one day and then popped and stopped working (thank God not in my hair). I should've taken that as a warning sign, but since Babyliss was a good brand, I sought out another model that was slightly more expensive (about $90) and it has basically been slowly dying the entire time I have had it. It sometimes would smell funny or sound funny despite never dropping it or misusing it. The bigger problem was that it got really hot on the hottest setting, so hot my hair stylist told me I was damaging my hair, but it was too cool on the medium setting to actually straighten out my mix of curly, wavy, straight and overall weird texture hair. I looked for a dryer with a long warranty life (this one has a lifetime warranty, you just have to pay for shipping and a flat repair fee in the US after 1 year) but that seemed like a worthwhile option to me. I looked at several elchim models, and decided on this one because it was lightweight (1 lb makes a huge difference when you are blowdrying your hair for 20 minutes every day), and had a cool shot button (some models didn't and I love using it to set my hair and bring the temperature down at the end). This one also has really nice rubber grips on the sides so when you set the dryer down it doesn't fly off the counter which is an added bonus. The dryer is very light, almost cheap feeling, but when you turn it on, you know that's not the case. It has a low sound unlike cheap dryers and gets the perfect level of hot to dry and straighten my hair without damaging it. My hair actually feels healthy and full of volume now when I'm done drying it. Highly recommend!
Most Helpful Critical Review Heat setting are seriously set too hot!!! Saw online and bought in nearby Dallas Ulta.
This won't be a glowing review for Elchim hair dryers... I didn't think any hair dryer could do this much damage, but this Elchim has.
I started using this Elchim "Fifties" hair dryer (exclusively since Christmas 2019); on low or medium heat only, TWICE a WEEK for the past THREE MONTHS.
Now my hair is a dried out, wirey, coarse disaster.
I had read other negative Elchim reviews that said this and I scoffed them off, but here I am now saying the same thing. My previous Solano never left my hair this fried.
Last month (February) I noticed how much of my hair is breaking. I dread using this dryer further, because of how much damage this Elchim dryer keeps causing. I should have returned it immediately after I noticed how much heat was there on "Medium", but then I got the flu.
Anyway, I'm back to warn others against buying this Elchim hair dryer. I can say goodbye to hair that's taken me 6 years to grow.

I'm super picky about my hair dryers because I have sensitive ears, fine hair that falls flat and I care about EMF in products. I've returned so many but finally found this one. It is light weight, touts low EMF, is quieter than most hair dryers AND gives my hair a little boost at the roots. This dryer makes my hair softer, too, in comparison to my old dryer. It's easy to hold onto and the buttons are easy to access, IMO. The only small negative is that the cold shot is not super reliable (sometimes it doesn't get that cold) but that doesn't bother me.
Best Hair Dryer I Found 5

I did A LOT of research before deciding on this hair dyer (countless articles, you tube videos, comparisons on the manufacturer's website, you name it). This is the quickest hair dryer I have ever owned. My hair dries flat and shiny in a matter of minutes. It is a bit heavier than other models I owned, but I am holding it for MUCH less time overall. Highly recommend.
One of the best hairdryers I have ever owned 5

Love so far. I have had moderately priced hair dryers before. Loved my Rusk and my Blu but this one is worth the extra money. My last two have not last any longer than my inexpensive dryers (about a year). They crack on the end and the nozzles will not stay on. The Rusk blew the nozzle off and it got lost and I could not get a replacement. I would rather spend the extra money and have something I do not need to replace all the time. This is so fast and does a great job. So far I am very happy. Wish I could have waited for a sale to pick one up.

Great product. Dries fast and leaves my hair soft. Product is from Italy and there was no user manual or customer service info in packaging. Cute color and lightweight.

This is my second purchase. My first purchase was a gift for my daughter in law. This one is for me. I like the protective qualities it has for my hair and the great color.

I like my new dryer. It's light weight and dries my hair in very little time. It's cut my dry time in half.

Lightweight and Effective 5

I LOVE this hair dryer! It's lightweight and dries my hair quickly. I really like how I can set it down on the counter and it doesn't slide off. The quality of this hair dryer is obvious. I have purchased many hair dryers over the years and this by far is my favorite!
I would buy this product again 5

Game changer!! my hair is left shiny and dry in 15 minutes i have long thick hair and used to take 45 minutes to dry my hair with my old blow dryer. My daughter is in love with it as well!
Perfect for smooth silky hair 4
Mary from Chicago, IL
I have to start by saying this is the first "professional" hair dryer I've had, so going from a $40 drugstore one that fried my hair to this is mind blowing. BUT, I can't compare it to the other high-end brands because I've never used them.
That being said, I LOVE this hair dryer. I always dreaded washing my long, thick hair because of how long drying and styling it took. This dryer cuts my drying time in half, and leaves my hair smoother and silkier so it doesn't take as long to straighten either. I like the rubber bumps on the side that keep it from slipping off the counter. I have no complaints about the weight of it, and I like that the "muzzle" is shorter so I don't have to hold it so far away from my head. I love the unique color.
The only negative about it, which I knew when purchasing and chose to live with it, is that the ionic function is built in rather than being an on/off option. I normally wear my hair straight, and this is perfect for that day-to-day style. However, I occasionally curl it, and the ionic function is not ideal for styles with volume/curl because it can make your hair too flat. So if you have fine hair and you're looking to keep volume, this is not the dryer for you.
Best Dryer I've ever owned with attachment flaws 5
victoria from chesapeake, va
This dryer is the best i've owned so i'm glad i snatched it up at 50% off! I have 3c/4a kinky / curly hair and this gets my hair so smooth and shiny with no change in normal hair shedding. I'd 100% buy again.
No frizzies! 5
Terri from Canton, OH
LOVE this dryer! My hair is over-processed because I continuously get it highlight to blend in my gray. So it is frizzy, has breakage and split ends. Since I've switched to this dryer, the frizzies are gone, very few breakage pieces sticking out or in my brush, I don't need to flat iron my hair anymore, my hair is soft and I can run my fingers through it with ease....it's like I just left my stylist. I will say, the first time I turned it on, it wasn't blowing as hard as my last dryer, but apparently, it doesn't need to....it dried my thick, course hair in less time. I always dreaded having to get ready in the mornings and drying my hair....now I don't mind at all....instead of 10+ minutes, it's done in 5....seriously. I couldn't be more happy. I know it was an expensive purchase, but it is so worth it!

Will be purchasing again! 5

As a hair dresser I can say this is hands down one of , if not the best blow dryer I've purchased throughout my career. Not only is it extremely light weight which takes a lot of pressure off my wrists, it gets the job done with amazing shiny silky results and the cool shot adds to the longevity of the style created. It's a high quality product for what is relatively inexpensive compared to other high end dryers that just make your hair feel and look dry. I will be purchasing a second one so the one I use in the salon now, I can take home for my own personal use!
It's great! 5

I swear by Elchim after buying one at my salon years ago. I have very curly hair and couldn't believe I went so many years without a good hair dryer. I bought this one for my daughter for college. I have used it several times and it's powerful, quiet and lightweight and my hair looks great. The control switches are a bit hard to slide and in an awkward spot, but I still love this dryer.
Excellent hair dryer! 5

This hairdryer is amazing. I didn't know how much of a difference hairdryers can have on my hair until I purchased this. I have very fine, slightly wavy, long hair, but I have A LOT of it. It usually takes me forever to blow-dry my hair and this has cut my drying time in half! My hair is smooth and healthy looking. Its super lightweight, and doesn't get too hot so that it doesn't damage my hair. I have had this dryer for about 6 months now and I LOVE it!

Best hairdryer I've ever owned. Looks like my hair was professionally styled!
Total disappointment! 3
Meech from Baton Rouge
The attachments fell off within 1st minute of using. Tried several times with both and they wouldn't stay on at all. The controls are in a bad spot too, easy to change setting or turn off while trying to use. It is light weight and I loved the color and look of it.
LOVE this hair dryer 5

I have owned Chi hair dryers in the past, but wanted to try something different and something that would be less damaging on my hair. I read review from several places and decided to give this dryer a try. Sooooo glad I did. It dries my hair quick and I only use the low setting. My hair is shinier and seems healthier as well. Its lighter than my previous Chi dryer as well. The way I hold my dryer the cool shot button is just under my thumb.....perfect because all I have to do is push harder to use it. You have to use pressure to use that button, so it doesn't just come on because my thumb is there. Also the air concentrator you can put on the end of the dryer definitely shots the air in the direction you want it to go. I felt with the Chi, it still didn't keep the air focused enough. I can't say enough good about this dryer....I LOVE IT!!!!
Good blow drier 3
CherHei from Fort Worth TX
I ordered this when it was 50% off and I am glad I did not pay full price. The dryer is nice looking and is lighter than my last Revlon drier but I don't feel that it is any quieter than the cheaper blow dryers. It also dries my hair the same and I don't see an improvement in frizz or shine. I am keeping because it is a decent blow drier and I did get it on sale.
Hairdryer is pretty but blow hard 3

Love the color. Very light weight. I think the controls are hard to use. Blows very hard.not sure I will keep it.
