Most Helpful Positive Review Nice!
@Solenskym, Please don't give a 1star bad review just cause you can't get the free sample. That's real petty. Anyhow, I love this mascara. I tosses my other one cause I won't be needing it anymore!
Most Helpful Critical Review Urban Decay Lash Freak Mascara
I just received this product in my #VoxBox this morning and I was super excited to try it! My initial thoughts were that the packaging feels and looks great and the wand looks super unique. I started applying the mascara to my bottom lashes first and noticed it was super hard to get a clean application. Once I started applying it to the top lashes, I began to notice that its difficult to control the amount of product on the wand once you dip it into the tube. I did love the little tip piece of the wand, it allowed me to easily apply the mascara to my inner lashes. As for the lifting portion of the wand, it made my lashes clump together, which I had to fix with a little lash tool I have. Overall, I think the formula of the mascara is amazing, however, Im not a huge fan of the wand itself; it made the application process a bit challenging.

Horrible. A waste of money. Clumps eyelashes together. The wand does not do what it says it will. Difficult to remove, it has pulled out my lashes when it is clumped together. My 20 year old daughter hates it also.
Should have been everything I loved

t a first glance this mascara is everything I've wanted! But... It sadly disappointed me in one massive area. And that is that when you take out the brush so much of the product is globbed on it and it just cannot be wiped out so you end up with so much black goop and I don't want all of that on my lashes. It's essentially a shovel of product. No thanks. Otherwise each side of the brush does a decent job especially the little front bit for details and tight spaces. I would love EVERY brush to have that!

y'all keep saying it's clumpy and terrible , but it's not , y'all just don't know how to apply mascara without making yalls lashes look like spiders . Just wipe a lil in the tube and apply it from down to up and only use 1 coat of mascara . the mascara over all it's really good , any mascara is clumpy any . It's just the technique that changes that
kayla from Palm Springs
this is the only mascara that makes my lashes look pretty and separated , idk why there's so many bad reviews . I tried the sample so I bought the big one . u should try it and return it if you don't like it but in my opinion is really good , I bought so many mascaras from ulta and Mac and non of them work for me , I got really long lashes and it's hard no to make them look like spiders so like this mascara works for me .
Clumpy and hard to use
Grace from NC
This mascara is truly awful. Sure, the wand looks cool, but that's about the only positive. The formula is super wet and smudgy and the wand collects so much product you'd be better off using your finger to apply it.
personally I like it
Vladmir from Ohio
not sure how others are using it wrong. Yes a lot of product comes out on the brush but if u just wipe it off on the inside of the tube you'll be fine . a little learning curve for nonpro makeup consumers .
love the formula ❤️ makes me look like I finally have lashes ,the perfect amount of length and volume . last All day thru humidity ,sweat and masking wearing 8-10hrs

🤷🏽♀️ not much to say.

Absolutely, hands down, the worst mascara I've ever used. It's very wet, goopy and creates major clumps that you cannot brush out. The wand was gooped in product and even after completely cleaning the mascara off the wand to start fresh, it still clumped. The tiny brushes at the end of the wand are actually pretty great but that's the only good thing I can say. I really wanted to love this so I'm disappointed that it didn't come close to my expectations.

I received a free sample of this with my last Ulta purchase and I'm in love. I've never used a mascara that I've enjoyed this much. My lashes look great! Long, voluminized and curled!
amazing curl hold and doesn't smudge
jenny from hendersonville tn
the brush takes a little getting used to but this can be a one coat mascara for me. it stays all day, holds my curl, and no smudging or flaking. easy to remove. it can get a little clumpy if you arent careful but this formula is bomb.
Was NOT Impressed
Pumpkin from Charleston, SC
To start, I think the brush design was a pretty good idea and that is what attracted me to try this, even though I already have a favorite mascara. Once I tried it though, I was pretty let down and I absolutely adore Urban Decay! I found that this mascara left my lashes clumpy and difficult to separate without causing my lashes to look like spider legs. The smell of the mascara it self was very off putting and chemical like. I returned this immediately.
I really like it!

So I got this as a gift with a recent Urban Decay purchase and so far it's really nice! The tip of the wand is what's used to separate your lashes. I'm not sure if these other reviewers know that but that's what their Instagram page says. Just an F.Y.I. Also, I took a nap with this mascara on and did NOT wake up with raccoon eyes. I was beyond shocked. Win-win for me.
Long lasting but strange!

The application of this mascara was hard! It feels kinda clumpy and hard to distribute across all your lashes. However, once I spent a few minutes applying it, it lasted all day and didn't rub off under my eyes (which is huge for me!) I would recommend this if you don't mind taking a minute to get it to look right!

Have looked forever for a mascara the lengthens, doesn't clump and doesn't flake. Thought maybe this was it. Nope. So first I had to watch a YouTube video so see how to sue the brush. Think they could put the on the box since it is a specialized brush? Anyway I had just as much trouble as the video trying to get. this on without clumping my lashes together. By the time I was done looked like I had 5 BIG eyelashes. But it did not flake off, although given how it looked that might have been ok. I would not recommend this product.

I love this mascara. It does come out a bit clumpy but u have to keep practicing. Once I did it always comes out great!
Received sample and glad I did not purchase.

I wanted to love this since I am always searching for the holy grail of mascaras, but this was so very bad. It clumped, flaked and was a pain to apply. The peculiar wand was a poor design. It seemed the wand was weird simple to match the name of the product without considering whether it was useable. I can name of the top of my head 10 mascaras that are better and extremely cheaper.
Very cool wand
DivaC from Virginia Beach
I love love love the wand but the mascara not so much. It's ok. It for sure gives volumes but the length not so much.

This is my favorite mascara now!!! Sometimes too much can come off and it will clump your lashes but just wipe it off
Bbbug87 from Hamilton Ohio
I purchased this on a Tuesday and returned it on a Wednesday. The bristles are to small and only on one side of the brush. It clumped and didn't do a thing for my lashes. The brush looks amazing until you get it out of the package it's awful.
Worst mascara I've ever tried
Liv from AL
The applicator comes out with so much mascara you can't even see the bristles. It is impossible to use. Mascara is everywhere. It's goopy and smells terrible.
not scared of thick mascara
makeup geek from idaho
ok so I got this free for purchasing UD products at ulta and I have baby lashes. I tried it and yes the wand is very unique but I liked what it did to my lashes. it gave me the drama and length and volume that I wanted. so my recommendation is watch a tutorial before you use this and you can scrape some excess product off the wand before going in full force. also the tip of the wand is the precision tip. so you can carefully separate any lashes BEFORE THEY DRY DOWN dont wait for it to dry before trying to separate any lashes that may have glued together. overall I like this better then the too faced better then sex mascara
Steph from ND
It seems many of these reviews are from people who received a free product. Mascara is such a personal product, and different formulas work for different types of lashes, but I find all these glowing reviews from people who got it free suspect. This formula is similar to Perversion, but wetter, and this useless brush does nothing to comb out the clumps that ensue. If you have another brush you can use and don't mind a wetter formula, you could probably make this work.
TERRIBLE RIP OFF

What just happened
JayDee from Macon, GA
I received this as a free gift with a recent UD purchase. I can confirm without a doubt that this product is easily the worst thing that has happened in all of 2020.... and that's saying something. I figured I would try this even though I love the mascara I regularly use because if it's free, it's for me - am I right? WRONG! Even though I used this exactly as instructed, the product was so thick that it coated my lashes and gave them a uni-lash appearance. That's right. A UNI-LASH! All the divorce lawyers in the world couldn't separate these puppies. I just stared in the mirror then immediatly called my boss to announce I was going to be late. And the smell.... oh my goodness, the smell. My eyes smelled like I had poured the oil from 2,000 vehicles over them. This may have been a free sample, but I feel I am owed for my pain and suffering because this was the most tragic thing I have ever experienced. I love UD, but lash freak is a straight up lash faux pas to their line up.

Returned within a few days. Never had such bad clumps with any other mascara. Another reviewer was absolutely correct about lashes sticking straight out and just overall looking terrible. The packaging and marketing is neat, but the actual product falls short.
