Most Helpful Positive Review No need to straighten my naturally curly hair before curling
I have tried a lot of heat tools over the years. I mean, A LOT. Though I've found some good ones, I could never find one that delivered curls without me having to straighten my naturally curly hair first. That was until I discovered the TYME Iron Pro. People, listen to me... this device makes magic happen. My hair (which falls a few inches below my shoulders when left to curl naturally) does not need to be straightened first before I create my curls!! Time saved = minimum 30 minutes! When I got my iron I saw from an insert in the box that the company recommended I watch a short 4-step tutorial first to make sure I was using the iron properly. So I did, and it was pretty easy! But honestly, if I hadn't followed the directions, I'm sure my attempts to make pretty curls would have been a flop. So thank you TYME for making a video to teach your customers how to use this miracle wand! I used it to make beachy waves for the first time last night and they turned out fab! I am hooked, and I get compliments on my hair every single time I use it!
Most Helpful Critical Review Wanted to love it but.....
I wanted to love the product, but it was too much of a headache for me to get the hang of all the angles you must stay at to produce consistent curls. I'm a mother of 4 and to take the time to achieve this, as some reviewers have, well, maybe I'm challenged, but it was just too much after the two attempts and watching about 10 YouTube videos, reading the instructions in the box and on Ulta's site. I think I'm finally just throwing my hands up.....if my arms weren't so sore from taking the get through my thick hair. It becomes somewhat heavy after you've spent about 40 mins getting through all the sections of hair!! That may be just me having thick hair. Plus, I put it on the second lowest setting and my hair didn't slide easily and left creases. Just overall, disappointed. Anyway, I have the T3 trio and love it. Will stick to that. Thought if this was faster, it'd be worth it. Just not faster to use in my opinion, never mind the obvious learning curve to use. Returning it sadly. First time for everything!

I loved the style but could not get the hang of it. It was too confusing even after watching the videos. Plus if ur left handed like I am count yourself out. Using a tool like this should not be so complicated.
Not for me, too time consuming and difficult to use

I watched the videos on how to use this and still could not get it to curl on one side of my hair. It's a beautiful hot tool but for the price point it should not be so complicated to use.
Very difficult to use

You must watch the video first on how to use this styling iron. I purchased it for soft waving bunt hair ends still end up straight. It is great for straight your hair though, but you can get the same results with a less expensive tool.

Too complicated, not user friendly, didn't perform, fried my hair...disappointed!

I was so excited for the Tyme Iron Pro to come to Ulta. I have been wanting one, no pun intended, for a long time. Sadly, this iron, although beautiful, just doesn't live up to the hype. Although I mastered the curling technique fairly quickly, I found it to be hard on my fine hair, and I was noticing breakage. Back The Tyme iron went, and back to my trusty Chi flatiron for beach waves. No need to fork over close to 200 bucks for what you can do with a nice flatiron and experience less hair damage.

I literally wanted to throw this!!!
All that social media hype wanted me to buy this so I did! I should have already known that by now.
- this should just be a curler since they advertised it to curl and we're all like wowed by it, right?!
- straightening and curling side made this hard and complicated.
- setting 1-3 too weak to curl
- setting 4-5 smokes your hair, yes it was smoking and dried my hair!!! I got scared!
- it pulls your hair! It does not glide at all!
- if I did get a decent curl out it loses the curl after a minute or two so I'm back to square 1!
- I gave up and will be returning this item!
Good Luck to next Buyer!
I'm a fan!

Purchased after seeing videos on social media. Took me a few tries and a few tutorial videos to get the hang of it, but now I can't live without my Tyme iron! I use it both as a flat iron, and also to curl my hair. The curls hold way better for me with Tyme than with my Dyson airwrap curling irons. I have thick, frizzy hair. 5 stars! Love it!
Absolutely love it ❤️

Not ideal for thick curly hair
YG from CO
I started to use this iron and noticed I need smaller strands. I have a lot of hair, curly and thick, it would take hours to do my hair. Plus I noticed the strands were still a little wavy and did not have that smooth sleek curl wave to them. I unplugged it and heated my 2 inch Hot Tools curling iron to finish my hair.

I bought one and its too complicated! Those curls can be done with another styling tool and more affordable!

I bought my tyme iron pro on Black Friday 2018 from their website, but I had been following them on social media for about 2-3 months watching their videos on the techniques that were required to learn before I even bought my iron. Once I did purchase it, I did have to rewatch a couple of technique videos while I practiced with my iron off, and then on. Yes, there is a learning curve but once you get the hang of it it's so easy and becomes second nature. I can do my hair in about 10-12 minutes now and before I wouldn't even curl it at all because it took too long. I loved my original pro so much I bought the limited edition marbled one for Xmas 2019. If you are willing, and have the patience to learn I think you'll like this hair tool! Plus if you need, their customer service will set up as many FaceTime videos as you need to help you get it down.
I returned it after one weekend

It's a great straightener for someone who has time to learn it. I don't though. And it didn't work great with my hair type. I retuned it after 4 days.
not worth the effort
Nicole V from Philadelphia, PA
as a hair straightener it's fine, I guess. but as a curling iron? not worth it. there's way too much of a learning curve and I don't have the time to schedule an appointment to have someone tell me what's the proper angle I need to hold my hand at and how to properly hold the curling iron and looking like a monkey with a banana. it was frustrating getting inconsistent results and when I did get a really good curl, it didn't last or hold. also, it pulled hairs out as I curled. I can't afford to have hairs pulled out. I returned it soon after. probably just going to get a Chi or something.

This is gonna be a long one so buckle up! I have very fine, thin, straight hair that CANNOT hold anything which is very upsetting and annoying. I also suck at doing anything hair related. I like this product because it heats up fast, and is easy to do by yourself. However, it is a learning process and it will take time to get the hang of it just because there is a technique (explained in many videos) that is supposed to be used. Curling the left side is also much harder and I still struggle to get a good curl on that side, but I am also still learning. I would say it is worth it but be prepared for some trial and error.

I absolutely love this iron! My hair is straight as a board, fine and thin and will not hold a curl even with a bottle of hairspray on it(not even kidding). I am hair impaired, as I like to call it. All I ever do is straighten my cowlick in the front and let it go. There is a learning curve to this but watch the videos and practice and you'll get the hang of it. I've been curling my hair almost everyday I can and it doesn't take me too long to do it (my hair is kinda long, down to my bra strap in the back). My hair still doesn't hold a curl for too long but the curls last longer with this than they ever have with a wand. I recommend this for all of us "hair impaired" girls!
My babyliss pro was way better

It's a cool concept but you can do the same thing with an inexpensive hair straightener.... literally. I mainly use it for straightening purposes as I have wavy hair but when I do curl it, it sometimes takes like 4-5 different tries just to get it right otherwise you end up with this semi crimped mess. Anyways, I wouldn't buy it again after my experience. Just stick to a regular hair straightener
Perfect for thick hair!

I have thick hair and trying to curl it with a curling iron usually takes a long time. I curled my hair in 20 minutes with this tool. I love it!

This does have a learning curve that may be a con for most. Once nailed, you can achieve any curl you desire. I have thick bleached medium length hair that has difficulties staying curled. I can now curl my hair in under 10 mins and the curls last for days. It did take a few tries and the motion does play mind tricks on you. This can be frustrating to any user and a reason to throw in the towel. I almost did. So happy it follows through with its claims in my experience.

I wanted this product so bad after seeing all the ads of people using this and their hair looking fantastic. I watched tutorials before I decided to purchase and saw reviews that mentioned it's difficult to use and you have to practice several times to get the hang of it. I went into it knowing it would take practice but I was willing to do that if I could get the curls I saw In the video. Now here is the actual experience I had with it. It made the crimp lines from the straightening side at the top of my hair. It did not guide through easy at all. I was not clamping down hard at all when using it, just enough for the hair not to fall out when sliding it through. The worst part for me is that after using it my hair smelled burnt (I was not even using it at the highest heat setting and used heat protectant) and it felt stiff and straw like. When I washed my hair after using it my hair felt so stiff and straw like the only thing I can compare it to is when my hair was first bleached and it lost so much moisture. After the first try I watched different tutorials again and tried 3 more times and sometimes I got decent curls but mist of the time not. It definitely didn't glide through the hair and it made it way frizzier than normal. For reference I have Mid back length fine naturally wavy hair but I blow dried my hair first so it was straight before trying. Needless to say a hair tool shouldn't be this stressful to use and you shouldn't have to put in hours of practice and watching videos. I am officially giving up on this and returning it. I actually have a new appreciation for the simplicity of the regular curling iron now.
Not for me...
Sabrena from Lakeland,Fl
I have long fine hair and it holds curl very nicely not to mention I had day 2 hair of dry shampoo... I tried this out and was so excited only to find out it did nothing for my hair. I watched the videos and tried several different ways to make this work and nothing... it looks very cheap and it snags you're hair also. I'm better of with a curling wand. 😔
Not for fine hair
Michelle from Florida
This thing is just frying my fine hair. Maybe if I practiced more it might be ok but I am really afraid of damaging my hair further.
Zero stars if possible
