Most Helpful Positive Review Game-changing Holy Grail
I have spent hundreds on hair care without seeing dramatic results... until now. Since I stopped coloring my hair, my thick curly hair became a lifeless frizz bomb. This tool was so easy to use and in less than eight minutes I had shiny, bouncy curls. Yes, I said shiny. And I gave it a real test: right after blow drying, no Moroccan oil, no setting spray or humidity barrier. I don't think I've had hair this soft and sleek in my entire life... And it's not flat or lifeless!! My husband, the guy who never notices these things, commented immediately on how shiny my hair looked. Holy grail indeed.
Most Helpful Critical Review Too Hot
I purchased this brush to help add volume to my fine, color treated shoulder length hair. While it is easy to use, it literally starting frying my hair. There is NO adjustable heat setting, and the 400 degree default setting is just too hot for my hair. Additionally, the bristles fall out of the brush easily. I have many other Hot Tool products and love them. I am returning this to Ulta.

I read all the reviews so I decided to try this. I had to order as only available online. The handle is too big to me. There's no temperature control so it can burn fragile hair. I burned my hand trying to use this wrapping my hair. I had to return this. Plus they should make different size barrels to choose from.
Easy to use

This is easy to use and calms my frizzy gray hair.

This thing smooths out my hair so much and the shine it adds to it is phenomenal 🤩

I use the iron daily. This is my 5th one. They last about a year or longer for me. My hair doesn't tangle with this iron like the ones with hard plastic bristles do. The bristles tend to muck up after a while due to product and retract themselves into the tube. No way to get them back out and tough to clean. I wouldn't be without it though. The heating has NEVER failed me, its always the bristles retracting that ends the life. It takes a lot of beating it up to get to this point. I notice my hair always frizzes if I don't use it, so it is a necessity for me to own this iron. Way better than the ones with plastic - those pull and tug on my head. They are easy to clean and bristles don't retract - but there is no way I want my hair pulled every morning. I will continue to rebuy as long as it is manufactured.
Learned to love it!
Gina from Plant City Fl
Was a little awkward at first, but after using a few times, love it. Gives me just enough curl without making my hair so flat with using flat iron. If you have fine hair and want smooth hair with volume, you'll love it!
I love this brush but doesn't last
KSteves from Dover, NH
I loved this brush when I first got it. I worked great and made my hair shiny and bouncy. After several months of use, all of the bristles started falling out. I have just ordered another one but if the same thing happens again I won't be getting another one and will have to find something else.
The Bristles Brake Off Easy
CJBilski from Arizona
I bought this in July and 4 months later I can't use it since most of the bristles have broken off.
Hot Tools Styler brush
LaLucy from Nashville TN
Not for me. I thought it would add body to my fine hair after drying. I thought the brush style would work well, like a round brush, but it doesn't. I am not happy with it. Wasted money

Starts Out Great But...
Susan from West Des Moines, Iowa
I loved this brush when I got it. It's a great size and gives my fine hair lots of volume. The heat factor is fabulous and it gives the ends a bit of a bend. However, after six months of using it daily, all the bristles are starting to fall out. Without the bristles, the brush is useless. That's does not speak well for the quality of Hot Tools.
Not for short hair...
TexasGranny from Southeast Texas
I thought this brush would work with my short hair. I am letting my hair grow out and it is now about 6 inches from crown of head to end of longest section. This brush is too large for me. I am keeping it in case I succeed in letting hair grow longer.
Brush does get hot and with so little hair around it, I constantly burned my fingertips. There isn't enough of an end opposite the handle to hold.
This is the best curling brush I have ever owned!
Harleygrl127 from Ohio
Gives my hair the volume that I like. Heats up very quickly and does get pretty hot. I really like the bristles on this particular model instead of having the hard plastic nubs.

I love this tool. Takes the frizz out. I have given up trying to use a brush while I dry - always ends up frizzy. I have curly hair that is fine and normal thickness. I have never had a problem with volume so after using this I actually have to comb it down a bit - too much volume for a white girl. After i blow dry I can give any black girl a run for her money with my afro type volume and frizz. To take this I will use a flat iron to straighten and add curl back (yes it's a bit silly but curly hair girls get it) it takes about 15 min to style with a flat iron at 360F. I constantly hear how that is too hot but anything lower doesn't straighten. The other option I use is a Jilbery (now con-air pro) gold hot brush. It gets to 350F and takes me 8 min to get shiny straight hair with curled ends. This brush rivals the Jilbery. It's quite which is good. I was worried it wasn't hot enough but it's good - could be hotter. I let it warm up for a few in and it works better. I wish it had auto shutoff and a temp setting that went to 425F. It takes me about 10min with this. The Jilbery blows hot air so that makes the bathroom hot and is loud sometimes that is an issue this solves those two issues but I use the Jilbery when the heat and noise isn't a concern. I love them both.
Maybe for short hair....

I have very long hair and this did make my ends curl under but took way too long to not fully accomplish the look I wanted. I was unable to achieve any volume. It may work better for hair that is shoulder length or shorter.
It's alright, doesn't heat up much
Ruby from San Diego
I usually use my straightener on 400°F and straighten it pretty fast. I looked for info on how hot it gets EVERYWHERE, and I can't find it even on the brand's website smh. I got this to get more volume and it does, but I don't think it heats up that much because it takes longer to get the results you want so just know that doing your hair will take a lot longer. I'll return it and keep looking for a brush that heats up well.
SO MUCH SMOOTH VOLUME

Gets super hot super fast so I wear a glove. Personally for my thick hair it's a great tool and makes getting ready super fast!
Love love love!!!

I recently got hair extensions that are gorgeous but thicker than my natural hair. I suck at curling my own hair, can't use a wand to save my life. I used to have a beachwaver that I loved but it recently died so I found myself on the hunt for something to help take the frizz in my hair and curl it to! I have spent weeks researching various products before buying this product. This product IS LIFE!!! It only takes me 20-30 minutes for me to do my hair and it smoothes and curls in one step! I will cry if this thing ever dies!!!
Was so hopeful

I have thick shoulder length hair and I wanted this to work as a fake blow out.
Styles great but doesn't last but a few hours.
Does a Great Job
Goldie from Oregon
This product allows me to remove the frizz and unwanted curl while retaining moisture and shine.
I would buy again
Bo from South Carolina
I like the fact it doesn't blow air to my frizzy hair. This keeps my hair from being even more fly away.
Great fake blow out
Amaynor from TN
Great tool for the fake blow out look.
I have think shoulder length hair and it never snags.
I live in a humid climate and soft bounce at ends lasts on most days.
Elise from Wisconsin
I've been pleasantly surprised by this product. I have not used a brush iron in decades! My hair is very curly and frizzy, especially in humid conditions. This makes my hair smooth and takes away the frizz. I looks like I've had professional blowout! I've stopped using my regular curling iron and my flat iron. This is all I need.
I would never buy this product again. It burned my thumb.
Mel from Newport News, VA
There is nothing great about this product. Don't waste your money.
