Most Helpful Positive Review Good coverage. Bad brush. I was in the store looking for a powder to set my makeup that also has SPF in it. The salesperson recommended this product. I was a little skeptical because it clearly has some color to it and I have a very fair complexion.
I used it on top of a tinted moisturizer around 8AM , touched it up midday, and got home around 7PM. It didn't show as too dark on my skin or cause visible lines anywhere. My makeup still looked good at the end of the day and that includes multiple hours commuting.
I just wish it had a better brush. There is a lot of bristle fallout so give your face a once over for stray bristles after use.
Most Helpful Critical Review Peter Thomas Roth Instant Casket-Ready Mineral SPF 45 I absolutely love this delivery method for sunscreen because of the convenience, and the portability of it all. However, this product is not Black girl/guy friendly. The rough shedding brush that you're unable to clean, non-refillable container, small amount of product, and uncontrollable product application aside, this is would have been a good product had it not left me looking casket ready. The product goes on very smooth and blends into the skin easily and quickly, in addition to giving SPF 45 for 97.5+% sun protection. I also love that the ingredient list shows vitamin A, C, & E listed for some added anti-oxidative goodness. This product had so much potential. I almost had a Tyra Banks "I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you!" moment because I can't and won't get over how clumsy the packaging is, how bad the brush is, and how high the price is for a mediocre product. I was so excited to try this product because it's "Peter Thomas Roth", but SuperFoop makes a MUCH better product for the same price that's refillable and comes in multiple shades. I wouldn't waste your money on this one ladies and gentlemen.

Do not use this if you have fair skin. I bought this online without realizing how dark it actually was, even though the packaging says translucent. It turned me orange like an oompa loompa. The brush is also very rough and the powder goes everywhere when you open it.
I do not like it. 1

this when it first came out.seemed like it agains good idea. would not buy it again
Mehhh. Should have listened to the other reviews 2
Eva from CO
The powder is nice and I like the color. Matches my fair skin tone. The delivery system sucks. The bristles end up falling out and staying on my face.
Would not buy again 1

This didn't work at all. I put on a thick coat all over my face and was only in the sun for an hour and burned all over my face. The bristles are really rough and aggravated my skin and it almost hurt to apply. The powder comes out from the bottom so you have to hold it practically upside-down to apply. To get an even coat you have to use a lot of the product. It's hard to get the powder out of the container.
Looks cakey and makes a huge mess everywhere 1
Carol from Houston, TX
There's no way too control how much product comes out, it can make a huge mess while in your purse. Opening it up causes powder to fall everywhere.
The brush is very rough on the skin.
It is not translucent and makes your skin look dry, textured and cakey.
Love it 5

So I totally love this, and it has a mineral type finish which i like. Other reviewers are correct that the bristles are hard but as another reviewer said it's better than Colorscience which has a soft higher quality brush.
So disappointed 2

I've been buying this for a couple years. I feel like the last couple times I've purchased this the quality has gone downhill. First, they discontinued the larger size (Why?). Second, the bristle come out all over the place. They didn't use to. I'm picking 5-10 of them off my face after each use now. It's such a shame because this was one of my favorite summer products. I'm going to be trying out different brands. I can't justify spending money on this again.
Great sunscreen on the go 4
Foxxy from Denver
Love it! I had a hard time figuring out how to get the powder out of the brush, but after a quick YouTube vid- all is good. Great product for face! Not greasy and easy to apply on the go
It's okay. 3
Gabby from California
Over all, I can deal with this product. It's also not hard to close, because there is a maneuver that brings the brush back, and tightens all the bristles and makes for easy closing. I do think the quality can be better. The brush is rough, and is probably not good for sensitive skin. Although I can "deal" with this product, I wish it was higher quality to make me want to love it. So far, I like it. Yes it works for me, but unfortunately may not work for others because the idea of this is wonderful. Just not greatly executed.
Works for me 4
Mommary from Los Angeles
I have been using this since it came out. I put it in the part in my hair to protect my scalp daily. I also use it on my face. The container system takes a little getting used to. Biggest downfall? The brush: coarse and leaves black bristles on my face. If not for the brush it would be perfect!
Great product 5
Dbev from Elizabethton Tn
This is great, and for a great price. Like others have said the brush is not fabulous, its stiffer and the bristles fall out. Having said that i also tried Colorscience which has a much softer brush and is refillable, BUT i like PTR much better. The other one's soft brush doesn't apply the product well.
Brillo Pad on your Face 1
Jojo from DC
This brush is SO rough and irritating on my skin, and the plastic cap got cracked after 1 week. What an embarrassing product design from such a good brand.

Use it over makeup and at the beach with no makeup
Great idea but poorly executed 1
LS from OKC
The brush is stiff and irritating, leaving my face red and itchy. There is no way of knowing how much powder you're actually using so you can't tell if you are getting adequate SPF protection. Very pricey for such a small amount. I love the idea of a SPF powder for outdoor activities over light makeup, but this misses the mark. It's in my car for return!
could be a lot better quality 2

Found the brush of VERY cheap quality, stretchy on the skin. Takes forever to disperse product up into the brush area. I like the portability of the product, however, mechanism and brush Ian very cheaply made.
GREAT product, cheap packaging 4
Millie from Jacksonville , FL
I like the product a lot, I hate the cheap ugly packaging and the uncomfortable brush. I just purchased for the second time but I moved the product to another dispenser. I use this one -XXXXX (other LARGE beauty store) Classic Travel Refillable Powder Brush.
So disappointed that I bought this 1
Sara from Houston, TX
The applicator is impossible to close (I have to pull till I almost break it each time), and the brush is one of those dollar store makeup applicator ones. This makes it impossible to apply evenly or sometimes at all. Most times a puff of powder just goes into the air, wasting the product. The poor packaging defeats the purpose of what's supposed to be a convenient on the go product.
ditch the original packaging 4
Beks from Bend, OR
product itself is the best powder with SPF I've found, and I've tried a few now. doesn't settle into my pores and controls shine. if you're super pale, maybe stay away, as it is a little bit tan. Just a little! But the don't even try to use the original packaging. After reading the reviews, I used an old empty loose powder container and dumped this powder into it. Success!
Brush is torture! 1
Kay from Lincoln
I was so excited for this product, but it is un-usable for me. The bristles on the brush are sharp and irritating and left my face feeling itchy and scratched. I would expect more from PTR!
Product good/ applicator not so much 3
Destiny from Tennessee
Love the product, but other reviews are correct regarding brush! Its the worst available quality- like i am 8 and got some plastic brushes from a kids makeup in DG. Also its not clear how to get the product out so I twisted left for ten min, then right for ten min, finally some came out. The coverage is good but i would repackage like another girl suggested!
needs brush redesign 2
Titiroro from NJ
The reviewers are right about the harsh/rough brush head. Not good! I want a non-chemical, mineral based sunscreen powder that helps with on the go application. This would have been a go-to if it wasn't so poorly/cheaply designed. Too bad. Luckily, there are other options out there. PTR would be wise to listen to their customers.

Totally transparent but improves complexion,Easy to use, doesn't mess up my make up.
I did my own tweaking 5

So when I bought it it did spill in my makeup bag, and the brush was coarse and wouldn't go back in the cap. So I repackaged it. I had an empty loose powder container that I'd used up, luckily it was easy to open (they sell empties online and in some beauty supply stores) so I put it in a new container and I use it with a retractable dense brush, or a powder puff and I dab it on instead of rubbing or brushing. I did not burn once in New Mexico in late April, clear skies and 80 degrees. I did perspire since I was at a huge event so I tried to really whenever I was sitting down and after I'd fanned my face off and cooled down. The best part is I didn't mess up my makeup! Though I did reapply eyeliner, mascara, and dusted the powder off my brows. Really terrible things happen if I sunburn so I'm very careful. This is expensive, but not as expensive as some other brands and it's a good amount of product if you ditch it's original packaging and brush. I'm medium, medium tan with a neutral to olive undertone, and this is a little too dark and warm for me, but once it's buffed in you can't tell. My skin is dry and sensitive, and I used this after serums, sunscreen, a hydrating luminous foundation, and I used this powder to set it. it wasn't too dry or irritating at all.
