The goal of effective cleansing is to loosen and remove dirt, germs, excess oils, dead cells, cosmetics and medication residues without irritating the skin or drawing away needed moisture. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser gently cleanses the skin while helping to maintain the right moisture balance. It is proven to prevent moisture from escaping (evaporating) from the skin's surface. Its fragrance-free, moisturizing formulation is non-irritating and noncomedogenic (does not cause pimples or acne by clogging the pores).
Like all CeraVe Skincare products, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser offers the benefits of unique, patented MVE delivery technology, which provides a controlled release of essential ceramides and other skin-nurturing and protective ingredients slowly over time. The unique ingredients in CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser help restore and maintain the natural protective function of the skin, help restore damaged skin and help keep skin healthy.
Elegant Formulation
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser does not leave a greasy residue.

No good

By hm

Comments about CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser:

I honestly am stunned at the amount of high reviews this product has.. I struggle with dry patches on my skin, and this seemed like a great product for me after reading all the reviews. For starters, the smell is AWFUL. It makes me sick, so that alone was enough for me to not like it. It smells like silly putty. But mainly, it literally does nothing to my skin. I don't understand how it is label as a cleanser because it's does not cleanse at all. It's just very gooey and actually made my skin feel more dry. Very rarely do I give a product only one star, but this was absolutely awful. The Cetaphil cleanser is much more effective.

love it!

Comments about CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser:

I have dry to combo skin and use this cleanser twice a day. It is not harsh like some cleansers can be, but it doesn't leave a film or residue either. I sometimes use it on my clarisonic, and it works well. I have repurchased several times and will repurchase again and again. Every time I try a sample of a different cleanser, even very expensive ones, they cant measure up to this one.

    My new HG cleanser

    By Savannah

    from Pennsylvania

    Comments about CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser:

I have pretty normal skin that tends to lean on the dryer side during the winter. This cleanser is amazing and is like washing my face with lotion. It doesn't strip my skin at all and leaves my skin feeling clean, smooth, and moisturized. I have seen so much improvement in the texture and tone of my skin since switching to this cleanser! I have used oil cleansers, COSRX low ph, and skinfood egg white foaming most recently and this is soooo much better! If you want to see improvement with your skin, start with your cleanser.

Not the best at removing makeup, but I just use garnier micellar water after to remove any leftover makeup

i use the cerave moisturizer and it came with a tiny sample of this. i like hydrating things, so i was excited to try it. big mistake! burned my skin like crazy- dried me out and made me break out. i tried one more time a week later to be sure and the exact same thing happened. i seem to be in the minority but beware!

          Comments about CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser:

I have combination skin that balks at really anything I put on it...CeraVe has made me a believer in the power of their products. I never feel tight or itchy when I use this, and it gives me a beautiful glow as well as smoother skin.

It was okay, but it broke me out.

          Comments about CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser:

My normally oily/combination skin has been especially dry this winter due to the cold. I thought I would try this cleanser out, but unfortunately it broke out my skin. I started getting acne in places I wouldn't normally get it, and it was super unnerving. It definitely kept my skin feeling hydrated. So sad that it didn't work out!

I had to return this product, it was absolutely not the face cleanser for me. My skin felt like it was burning the moment I put it on my face and left my skin dry and patchy after one use. I would not recommend this product, especially for sensitive skin.

Hi Gracie! If you have combination to oily skin, we suggest to use CeraVe's Foaming Facial Cleanser. This foaming cleanser gently cleanses and removes oil without disrupting the skincare barrier. We hope you love it!

Hi Lola! Although we cannot compare brands, the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is ideal for normal to dry skin with a unique formula; with three essential ceramides (1, 3, 6-II) that removes dirt and oil, and makeup, hydrates and helps restore the protective skin barrier while being gentle on the skin. We hope you love it!
